The Restaurant at Cobh Heritage
Cobh
09/10/2024: I ate a delicious cake there, Gurr, which is a cake with raisins...and I drank a cappuccino, which was very good, and the staff was helpful.
The catering is in the form of a cafeteria.
28/08/2024: This is a small cafeteria in the Cobh Heritage Museum. Self-service. All
Food homemade. I had a “spiced cauliflower soup”. Very fine taste. The seating is in the front part of the museum. It's a very nice atmosphere, bright, light-filled and spacious.

Salt Café
Dublin
27/03/2025: Great food selection and nice spot for coffee or lunch
19/02/2025: I've been using the Avoca deli for 2 years and I have purchased sandwiches on a regular basis. However, I can't remember getting a sandwich with fresh bread. Each time I go back expecting a change, the bread is still stale. There are some good food options, lovely shop and supermarket but stay away from the deli counter.

Brasserie
Waterford
27/03/2025: We celebrated my friend's 40th birthday here. I made reservations very far in advance. You have to prepay for the reservation. The person outside the storehouse did not understand that we had both reservations and tour tickets, so she tried to send us away until our ticket time, which was 2 hours after our lunch reservation. We finally got someone who understood and let us in. The staff was fantastic. The birthday was fun. Everyone in the party of 6 loved the food.
The prices were reasonable. They did not accept a tip on their machine.
We had tour tickets for 2 hours later. They give you your drink tickets when you check in, and you dont have to wait for your timeslot. You just go as soon as you are done at the restaurant.
22/02/2025: Ribeye sides are amazing unfortunately ribeye came very well done when asked for medium rare.

Dunbrody Famine Ship
New ross
18/02/2025: Ten of us met up here for dinner including 4 kids. Food was really lovely and the table was at the window with views out over the river which was fab. We went on a Sunday so booked in ahead as it was a large group. The service was a bit slow but we didn’t mind really as they were busy and we were chatting and catching up anyway. Not cheap but worth it. Kids even got to choose ice creams (mars and iceBerger) from a freezer as their dessert 😊 loads of parking out the front at the river and also a nice walk down along even if not going into the famine ship experience.
16/02/2025: Arrived on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Nice place with friendly staff. After we were seated we were informed that two of the dishes were not available. We ordered the roast beef and were then told it was gone. We ordered steak only to be told that was gone as well. Very poor kitchen management.

Weavers Loft Restaurant
Donegal
21/02/2025: Friendly staff, great service and excellent food !
24/12/2024: We happened to be in town and fancied breakfast so here seemed a good bet. I had the avocado +poached eggs and decided to add bacon, whilst my companion had the large fry
The bread, avocado and poached egg were nice, in fact the basil oil around the plate added an extra zing...I do wish I hadn't added the bacon as it appeared either deep fried or re cooked in some way as it was brittle and lacked flavour
The fry was below par. Plenty of it but over cooked and perhaps not drained as the over whelming flavour was oil. I swapped one of my poached for my partner's fried egg and wished I hadn't as it was very far from runny and oily tasting.
The staff are attentive and friendly and run the front of house efficiently but I do think the meals are a little on the pricy side

Hannons Hotel
Roscommon
04/02/2025: I made a pit stop at Hannon’s Hotel, hoping to enjoy a hearty meal. I ordered the chicken curry with chips, but to my disappointment, the dish fell short of expectations. The curry was served tepid and lacked distinct flavor; it came across as exceedingly bland and unappetizing. The chicken was overcooked, and the consistency was far too watery, leaving the entire experience feeling rather lackluster. The chips, rather than providing a crispy contrast, were soggy and unappealing. Overall, I found the meal to be quite unsatisfactory, and I would not recommend it.
03/02/2025: Didn't rest well on there old worn out beds and room cleaned only once in three nights stay. Not recommended to stay here.

Louisburgh 74
Louisburgh
01/11/2024: Quirky 'bistro' with nice food and friendly service
01/11/2024: First timers and holiday makers here. My mum, two children under the age of 6 and I had a bite to eat here. Staff were friendly and kid friendly. My mum chose the Soup of the day which was vegetable at €6.50. The children shared a toasted ham and cheese sandwich €7 (served with complimentary raisins: a nice touch) and I savoured a creamy fishy chowder at €8.95. The cakes, especially the coffee cake, looked tempting but we resisted on this occasion. Lovely feel to the place and nicely decorated for the season of Halloween. You can buy bits and bobs here also eg soap, Turkish delight, rock etc. Parking across the road. Recommended if you are in the area.

The Pepper Pot
Dublin
19/03/2025: Great food every time I go
Lovely plates and cups
15/03/2025: I had the “famous” sandwich, it was good however the slices of bread are extremely thick and a bit too much for me. The soup of the day was delicious. My friend got the sandwich gluten free and he enjoyed it.

McDaid's
Dublin
29/03/2025: Tricky one this, upstairs bar had a problem with beers being warm and gassed. Staff were good at fixing the issues by sending me downstairs to get replacements. Downstairs pints were better but not as good as nearby pubs. The decor is great and upstairs is lovely and comfy. Toilets were clean and well maintained. Will visit again in future to update on drinks.
19/03/2025: The manager here was homophobic towards my girlfriend and me. We should’ve known the pub would be terrible when we found it almost empty on St. Patrick’s Day, but we found out the hard way. We bought two pints and kissed briefly, interrupted by the manager spewing homophobic commentary and asking us to go home or outside. Other patrons walked by us and asked us if we were okay, also shocked by his behaviour. My girlfriend then brought our untouched pints back to the bar and asked the bartender for a refund, citing his homophobia. The bartender immediately paid her back for the pints, and the two younger bar staff apologised to us as we left.
Awful place, shocking management; definitely avoid this pub.

07/03/2025: I had a delicious dinner here back in November! Beef and Guinness stew was mouthwatering, pour a perfect draft of Guinness, and their brownie was yummy! Great meal!
04/12/2024: Love staying in Scott's hotel we spent 2 nights there in November 20th and 21st.
We had our dinner on the Wednesday night served up to us by the barman who was so friendly one lovely lad.

Our room was very nice too.
All in all a very nice stay.
