03/10/2026: Self service food bar, Mac cheese, soup (only on a weekend), cakes, coffees, soft drinks, smoothies, cocktails, wine, beer! Easily sat 7 of us around 14:00 on a Saturday. Staff super helpful. Loved the soup bowl!!

09/05/2026: Elegant hotel. Fancy. Best customer service thus far in Ireland! (Front desk and breakfast staff excellent!) Tons of shops, restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. Killarney is a very cute city. It has an "energy" vibe to it. Minus 1 star for lack of available USB ports. In addition, the shower had poor temperature control. No cold water, believe it or not. The bath had cold water, yet when you switched the control to the shower mode, only three temperatures available: hot, hotter, and scolding, no matter how you adjusted the knob(s). {Only in room 119?...} Also, no hooks or towel bar to hang towels, etc. in the bathroom. The WiFi was ok to stream, however, trying to send an image via text failed time and again. Besides that, I highly recommend this hotel. A Celtic and Riverdance show most nights at 8:30 pm on the ground level. $37€ ? Free parking under the hotel, however, very limited spaces on a first-come, first-served basis. P.S. My opinion only: The Ring of Kerry was underwhelming. I guess I'm spoiled living in California with the coastal highway, the Sierra Nevada mountains, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park. However, since you're here, you might as well drive it. Still lovely. I suggest driving it Clockwise. The tour busses drive Counterclockwise, and you do not want to follow them and all their customers at every viewpoint. For every one car traveling clockwise, there were 30 to 40 cars traveling counterclockwise. Now you know!

07/08/2026: Had lunch here last week with a friend. I had the special, prawns and hake and my friend had fish and chips!! Magic food, fresh from the sea and well presented. Served by the charming Caroline, our compliments to the excellent chef and his team!! We'll be back, and back......!! 👍☘️

27/07/2026: Not a great experience for us. We stopped for a quick sandwich and it took forever to be served and we were the only people in the cafe. The decor was very quirky and interesting but on a closer look it was grubby. After we left my husband told me the owner was eating whilst she was preparing our food. If I'd known I would have left straight away. Not a place I would recommend.

The kind of place where you’re planning your next visit before you’ve finished what’s on your plate. I’d love to show you a photo of the food, but the fork was quicker than the phone. 11/08/2026: I want to give a shout-out to this pottery shop. I stopped there feeling a little lost on my drive around the peninsula. The woman at the counter was so nice to take plenty of her time to tell me how to get to my next stop. The store is beautiful fully stocked with all types of ceramics. If you are looking for wonderful Irish pottery, be sure to check this place out, and take the time to go upstairs, that's where all the best ceramics are.

27/10/2026: I used to love coming here and it genuinely disappoints me to write this. I suggested it to my friends because two of us were hungry and wanted food, and this used to be one of my favorite spots in Dublin. Unfortunately, the security guard on the door completely ruined the experience. A male friend asked if there was a table for seven and was told no. I then asked a completely separate question: whether there was a table for two, as only two of us actually wanted to eat. Instead of answering a reasonable question, he repeatedly ignored me, accused me of lying, and refused to acknowledge that I was asking about a different table. I simply wanted a table for two. When I asked for his name, he told me he does not answer to "strangers like you," and later stated I was "the kind of people" they do not let in. After being repeatedly dismissed, ignored, and called a liar, I did react out of frustration and used insulting language back to him. I regret reacting that way and letting my temper get the better of me, but that does not explain or excuse how aggressively he spoke to me beforehand. While I was still speaking to him, he allowed other patrons into the venue and openly used my frustrated reaction to justify excluding me, rather than handling the situation professionally or answering my original question. As a woman, I felt completely dismissed, talked over, and treated with unnecessary hostility for asking a simple question. Whether intentional or not, the interaction felt unwelcoming and uncalled for. I hope management takes this seriously, reviews the door staff’s conduct, and ensures customers are treated respectfully

26/10/2026: Not a very friendly place. My partner and I came in on a quiet Monday afternoon. Place was almost empty, so we sat down at a booth. Waitress runs over to tell us we can't sit there because it's reserved for parties of more than two - Not to serve us, not to say hello, and not to ask would they mind if we sat somewhere else, but to warn us off taking our seats even though the place was virtually empty, there was no reserved sign, and I'd say 90% of the (empty) tables we also set for groups much bigger than two people. They seemed far more interested in serving hypothetical groups than serving two literal real life customers. So we left.

30/08/2026: Myself and my wife eat at willows virginia on a regular basis staff are brilliant friendly and professional food is always excellent the owner is extremely friendly and brilliant with his staff i was a chef and restaurant manager for many years and would highly recommend willows top food staff and atmosphere 10/10

19/07/2026: Myself and my partner had dinner at the Sika restaurant during our stay in Powerscourt. The service was really good. The food was good - however the carrots (side dish) we were served weren’t fully cooked. Our main issue was the cocktails. We have been to Powerscourt hotel restaurants a number of times and the shaken (non-spritz) cocktails always disappoint. For the price of the cocktails and the fact this is a high star hotel - you look forward to a well made drink. The establishment needs to higher a head mixologist to instruct the bar staff how to make cocktails - it’s not that difficult.
