16/07/2026: Came to Turks Head last night for a drink after work, the place was unbelievable! I really cannot stress enough how lovely the bartenders treated me. But I really want to point out the security guard on Wednesday night and Dylan on Thursday night, absolutely brilliant! Great lads and what I see in most bars these days from security is just a power trip! 100% recommend! Thank you all

16/07/2026: A lovely Irish watering hole in the heart of the city with a reasonable selection of both wet goods and snacks - and at affordable prices. Here you can also hear live music, watch sports on the big screen and borrow a card game at the bar. 🍻

05/08/2026: Absolutely fabulous place, quaint and had a great atmosphere. Beautiful harbour view from the restaurant. Staff could not have done enough for us. Food was delicious. Will be back.

31/07/2026: Imagine this: you call and ask to reserve a table. They tell you: “no reservations, but you’ll find a table right away when you get here”. Then you do get there and a rude manager asks: “did you book a table?”. Then tells you in a rough tone that you have to wait, at the bar, 20 minutes for your table. And when you seem perplexed, he adds, even more rudely: “wherever else you want to go, it’s at least a 20 minutes drive, so just wait and chill out”. Such a disappointment, do not make the mistake of deciding to go there. And in a 15 minutes drive from that place, we found a very good and welcoming restaurant.

21/08/2026: Went in for lunch on Friday at 12 noon ish. We got the roast turkey and the fish and chips and all was absolutely beautiful. It had a nice atmosphere, not too crowded and not too quiet. We'll be back thanks so much

20/07/2026: was here for world cup finale and the staff handled adverse circumstances very admirably. shoutout evan(?) who was working bar alone upstairs, he was efficient and also friendly, total champion. not to mention extremely reasonable prices for draught. definitely will be back!

07/04/2026: I've always had great fondness for this shop and I hope the future is bright for it. Having said that, every time I go in lately there's been less and less on sale. No soup of the day, no wines to browse, none of a particular high-end frozen pizza that I became a fan of - and today evidently no ice-cream for sale at all! So I report with sadness that I often come away empty-handed of late.

22/10/2025: Location was wonderful. the staff was very kind and tried to be as helpful as possible… Rooms were very outdated, extremely dusty/musty, beds very uncomfortable, Wi-Fi didn’t work half the time & AC was broken with inability to be fixed. The room also smelled terribly of a nursing home which did not dissipate at all with our windows open for two days.

21/10/2025: Such a great spot! I was visiting Galway for a few days with my family, and we could not have picked a better location. All the staff were so kind. Henrique at reception in particular was incredibly helpful and very fun to converse with.

20/07/2026: Kirby’s of Galway was exactly what we were looking for after a day of exploring the city. It offers quality comfort food in a warm, welcoming setting, making it an easy restaurant to recommend to a wide range of diners. The menu has plenty of variety, so whether you’re after seafood, steak, traditional Irish dishes or something lighter, there is something to suit most tastes. Everything we ordered was well prepared, generously portioned and full of flavour. This isn’t a restaurant trying to reinvent fine dining, and that’s actually one of its strengths. It focuses on serving satisfying, well-executed meals using good ingredients, and it does that very well. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a great place to unwind over dinner. Despite being popular, the service remained friendly, efficient and professional throughout our visit. The staff struck the right balance between being attentive and allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. Sometimes when travelling you simply want a dependable restaurant where you know you’ll receive a quality meal, pleasant surroundings and good service. Kirby’s delivered on all three. We left very satisfied and could easily see ourselves returning on a future visit to Galway. If you’re visiting Galway and want a reliable restaurant with a broad menu and consistently good food, Kirby’s is well worth considering.
