27/10/2025: Unpleasant experience. We waited at the bar for around 20 minutes without being acknowledged. Despite approaching staff several times to ask about getting a table, we continued to be ignored. Unfortunately, we decided to leave.

28/09/2025: The food here was genuinely outstanding... chicken curry with half chips & rice - as good as anywhere Ive eaten. Superb / friendly service also.

13/12/2025: Stopped here without knowing what to expect. We found and amazing atmosphere, with friendly and fast service. Good was great, generous portions and great selection. Strongly recommend 👌

23/02/2026: Oh my goodness, we had the nicest time at Alfies for our party. The place just has such a welcoming feel — you walk in and right away you know you’re in good hands. The staff couldn’t have been sweeter. They were right there whenever we needed something, but never hovering, you know? Just real kind and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious — every plate that came out was spot-on. And the drinks? Let’s just say they didn’t skimp! Everyone in our group kept saying how much they enjoyed themselves, and that really warmed my heart. It’s not often you find a place where you can relax, celebrate, and feel so well taken care of, but Alfies pulled it off beautifully. I’d go back in a heartbeat, and I sure hope I do soon.

01/11/2025: Very nice cafe, but crazy expensive for what I got. €4.50 for sausage roll with some crinkle cut crisps. At best very ordinary. Pot of tea was good. Has me questioning if I am back in the boom times. Money for nothing and your crisps for free!!

21/02/2026: Its hard where to begin with my review.This hotel is definitely a 3 star hotel.In need of major refurbishment.Carpet in bedroom heavy stained.Toilet seat and shower door broken...maintenance came and sorted it,to be fair.Breakfast room very cold..no charcter,old tables with markings on them.Rang before we arrived to tell about allegens and intolarances but not alot of variety was offered. Staff were pleasant but not over friendly...very matter of fact...However Eamonn the barman was an exception.Point of fact they charge you on arrival and whatever you have within the hotel is not put on the card...you pay directly for foods and drinks.The breakfast is buffet...you help yourself with everything...even to making your own beverages and toasting your bread...little things that make a difference in service.I could go on and I will say this is relevant to me.The exterior is not great but the car parking is good.All in all We wont be returning.

12/02/2026: Super hotel ideally located, easy to get to, very close to everything that Killarney has to offer. Lovely rooms, bar setting is excellent, and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend it.

31/01/2026: Walk in diner, staff lovely friendly, perfect place waiting on a bus or going to shopping centre very convenient!

08/06/2025: Had the classic. Great home made sausage with just the right spices. Roll held together till the end. Onions and peppers were tender and fresh.

04/06/2025: Contained in the huge English Market SC ,this place stands out from all the other exceptional vendors. Just a small stall with usually only 3 workers, it can turn out food to die for. All sandwiches are make rite on the spot. You can customize or order any of the house specials. Grab a special, find a quiet spot, (not possible) and enjoy.

19/02/2026: Please be advised, this is no longer a cafe! Tried to visit in Feb26 and it only does interiors. I’m sure the interiors are lovely. The lady in the Top forecourt across the way said the cafe is gone now.

21/09/2025: We were here today September 21st, Sunday at 2:30. And it's closed for season. But Google maps said it's open. Dissapointing

15/01/2026: The food was good and well presented. While none of the dishes particularly impressed me, everything tasted good overall.

22/11/2025: Well what can we say? Each and every dish was so good! Especially the fish course. Not much of a fish person but Lady Helen converted me! We were full by the veal course but it was so good that we finished it. We did not go for wine pairing but ordered a bottle between the two of us. I meam the wine was lovely. Every time we come to Kilkenny, we come to the Lady Helen. Thank you again and can't wait to be back!

18/02/2026: If you're coming on weekend, I recommend to book a table in advance. Food is delicious and served quickly, there's a broad variety of wines to choose from. Staff is very nice and helpful. There's an underground car park at the back. Dimmed light and music in the background add on to the atmosphere of this place.
