11/04/2025: Popped in for a pre theatre early dinner. I had the calamari which was very thin and dry and I ordered a side portion of frites which were nice. My wife ordered the chicken schnitzel which was an excellent portion size and came with frites. We had a glass of wine and a Peroni 0-0. I wanted desert but after the main course no one came to clear the table, to check on us, or ask if we wanted more drinks or a desert (which looked very nice in the chill display as we left!). €52.50 and I didn’t feel inclined to tip.

04/04/2025: Waiting time to be served was terrible in a not too busy restaurant, we had to call a waiter eventually. Food waiting time was also too long for what we ordered. The fish and chips I ordered came out cold, I suspect from been left on a hot plate for too long to be served, hence our waiting time. I could tell as the side salad had the appearance of seeing better days. Once I brought it to the waiters attention he asked if he could change the chips, but would I like to keep the chips? Having waited a long time for the first time to be served I said ok as we were late to leave for an appointment. To my surprise the chips came back with the fish piping hot, but we saw that they had just thrown them back in the deep fat fryer. You could bounce the chips which were the frozen variety off the wall and the "fresh" fish (also questionable) came out swimming literally in oil. My wife also spotted the kitchen staff asking who left the food back and shaking their heads. To be honest they should be shaking their heads in shame for reheating frozen food for €22.50 and handing it back to a paying customer. If this is what is becoming of the Irish way of selling/cooking food and serving customers then I can understand why people do not return to "restaurants" like this. Management need to shake things up here or it will become another place that will lose customers, and as a result revenue and reputation. Hopefully not go down the road of not listening to customers and having to close their doors instead.

29/03/2025: Visited last night, I had the fish burger, my partner had the ling and chips. Lady that served us was very nice, offered great advice. Can honestly say the food was delicious, so fresh and good portion size. Whole order came to €25, that included 2 Cokes, we thought that was very good price for the quality of the food. Will definitely be back

22/03/2025: Vuelve a desayunar. Tenía los huevos benedictos con salmón en pan integral casero. Probablemente el mejor Benno que he tenido. El salmón parcialmente cocido en pan integral casero era una combinación increíble. Los huevos estaban perfectamente cocidos y la salsa holandesa fresca estaba deliciosa. Bien hecho a los chefs. El servicio estuvo a la altura del excelente estándar habitual Volveré pronto.

20/03/2025: Lovely breakfast at Taste, poached eggs on delicious soda bread with bacon, delicious! Service was really good, food came quickly too and the cafe was lovely and clean.

02/03/2025: Called here after lovely visit to Donegal Castle I ordered prawn sandwich came on the cheapest white bread ever which was soggy from the prawns unable to eat bread ordered coffee that didn't arrive until late into meal should have told them to keep it charged 8 euro for a very small cup service was terrible and staff very unfriendly you git the impression they had fallen out with each other such was the vibe ding dong bell going off all the time which was right beside the clattering of dishes that were being stacked rather loudly was annoying My young Daughters meal she told us later was not very nice she said it was very oily kids meal burger found this place to be expensive another review said Americans not welcome looks like Irish not welcome either

16/02/2025: After a long day in the car, we needed good food, quick! Stopped in on a sunday night. Wife had seafood pie that she loved-basically mashed potatoes with fish! I went Traditional-fish and chips but was not disappointed. Had a Guiness and a Kinnegar to mix it up. Perfect for us. Very nice crew!

15/03/2025: I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be one of the best place where to go, drink and eat in Cork. Now, beer that tastes like it was in tubes for a week and cost €7.8! (normal Madri beer, the No. 7 was out) Changed menu - food is ok. Won't amaze you any longer but won't hurt you.. Service is good, obviously these issues are not with the floor staff, they do their best with what's given to them. The cost of having beer out is seriously getting out of hands. To all pub owners out there.. stop winging about not people coming in when you sell beers for €5+..

30/03/2025: Lovely room and the staff were amazing especially Robert who couldn't of done enough for us. Stated for one night myself and my partner. Breakfast was superb. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

27/02/2025: I ordered a half roast pork. I got two measly slivers of pork, mostly fat, three slices of carrot and for green veg was shocked to see a mound of parsley! I should hope a full dinner comes with a floret of broccoli at least. There was an abundance of tasty mashed potato. My daughter's sausages tasted odd. My friends stew was delicious. Crummy eighties music blares, unless there's a football game on the TV. The staff couldn't care less what sort of experience you have. The food was great last Christmas so it was disappointing.
