14/04/2026: food was underwhelming, expected a lot better. I got mozzarella bricks and they were very hard and cold, no complaints about the beef tacos, the kfc fries were also not great. Service was ok, 2 people working and only 5 tables and people were still waiting to order, waitress asked what drinks we wanted, i said i needed a minute and she never came back, she also forgot to get the table beside us there drinks, asked for desert menu and never got one.

08/04/2026: Me and my boyfriend found this place 2 years ago when we wore staying near by and have made it a ritual to come at least once a month, the nicest food ever! And nicest staff♥️ The portions are huge which is always good- you can share a portion and not be worried it won’t fill two people it definitely will!( we still order too much because it’s too hard to choose between things) there isn’t a single fault with anything🥰

20/03/2026: I arrived at the roost just after 23:30 and was told the bar was closed despite saying it was open til 2:00 on Google management and ownership clearly don’t care about false advertising which could lead to a lawsuit, I would avoid at all costs

20/08/2025: Very yummy clean food with a nuanced palate. Very friendly people and áine is inspiring and just amazing.

19/08/2025: Everything was amazing. The views are unreal. The food is phenomenal. I had the carrot and parsnip soup with homemade brown bread and then the fish on a bed of lentils for main. An-bhlasta ar fad!

18/02/2026: If you're coming on weekend, I recommend to book a table in advance. Food is delicious and served quickly, there's a broad variety of wines to choose from. Staff is very nice and helpful. There's an underground car park at the back. Dimmed light and music in the background add on to the atmosphere of this place.

25/03/2026: Carne is nothing short of the best course in the world imo. Also worth noting perhaps that golf is my life as a PGA pro and I've been fortunate to play most of the great courses in the world. Which should lend some credibility to this review. If your the soul searching golf type then Carne may just have the answers your looking for.

12/11/2025: Played this fabulous creation with a Lifetime member in October. It was part of a weekend of Golf.Texas scramble. 4 ball better ball. Best set of par 3s you will find anywhere. Fab greens brilliant welcome from Management.Golf shop and clubhouse staff. 4 amazing days of golf. Thanks Peter Jim and Stacey for your company. Highly recommend a visit. And the town of Bellmullet has amazing pubs and restaurants. Oh and the Guinness.

03/03/2026: I left. my make-up bag in room 204. My daughter emailed the hotel and got.an email back to say nothing.was found.My make bag contained.over 200 hundred pounds of products and perfume.We.had.a beautiful stay for my birthday but this has been very annoying.The.room was beautiful.with an ocean view but the pillows were not of good quality.For a 4 star hotel I would.have.expected better.As I have said losing my make up was very dissappointing to say the least

07/03/2026: Fish and chips were flavorless except for oil. Burgers were ok. Never checked on once after we gave order. Not an enjoyable meal.

01/03/2026: They mandated a 30% tip. Food was very bland and meat was very tough. We had a party of 10 and all tried each other’s food, nothing was seasoned or tasty. Sauces were watery and flavourless, steak couldn’t be cut with the steak knives. They also hadn’t put enough tables together to fit us all, so we were on top of each other the whole meal. We didn’t want to complain or cause a fuss but no one was happy. When we went to pay, they said as we were such a large party they had a policy about the tip. No one even got alcohol, just water and food. They didn’t serve us any more than a smaller party. We thought the tip we decided was very generous considering the food, but they were very unhelpful and just kept saying it was their policy and it had to be paid. Wouldn’t have bothered me much if the food had been decent. Not a nice experience at all. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone.
