04/08/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars – A Hidden Gem on the Cooley Peninsula! Ferguson’s Bar & Bistro in Gyles Quay is an absolute must-visit. Whether you’re calling in for a meal, drinks, or an evening of entertainment, it never disappoints. The food is consistently outstanding—beautifully presented, full of flavour, and made with quality ingredients. Every meal we’ve had has been exceptional. A special mention has to go to Edelle, who is simply the best waitress. She is always so warm, friendly, attentive, and nothing is ever too much trouble. She goes above and beyond to make every visit enjoyable and is a real credit to the team. If you’re a cocktail lover, you have to try the frozen coconut martinis. Ruari makes the best we’ve ever tasted—perfectly balanced, refreshing, and dangerously moreish! The atmosphere is fantastic too. Friday night bingo is great fun with plenty of laughs, and the live music creates such a brilliant buzz, making it the perfect place to spend an evening with family or friends. Ferguson’s has it all: fantastic food, amazing cocktails, first-class service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We always leave looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended! 🍸🍽️🎶

15/09/2026: Love meal here last week to celebrate a 60th. Great food and a suberb waitress in Tara. She was quick, professional and funny. She was just great. My fish and chips was just scrummy.

11/09/2026: Jesus lads… went last Sunday. The waitress with the tattoos was a dote and very efficient. The food was genuinely awful. Vegetable soup was tasteless and watery .i got fish and chips and the chips looked like they were cooked under a heat lamp and the fish was overcooked and hard! The tater sauce smelled weird and it was rubbery(can’t explain it)…The roast beef dinner was atrocious… two scoops of potatoes that were lukewarm and watery gravy…presentation was not on the cards that day. the mushroom as a starter weren’t bad but really disappointed only went because of the reviews . Not sure if that’s the standard usually but if it is… those other reviewers are liars!!!

06/08/2026: Overall, this is a lovely place to visit but there’s some missed opportunities: The items in the shop are very expensive - as a family with 3 kids we are the target audience but nothing is enough value for money to buy anything (eg a non branded sheep for €16.60 - if this was a Jellycat for €25 you might do it). Maybe other tourists are buying but I’m not sure. A farm shop section would be amazing too - bread, milk, local produce. Secondly, when we visited, it’s mostly families or people with an older demographic but the music they’ve got on is 00’s pop, dance and rnb. It just doesn’t cater to this audience whatsoever and creates a busy, hurried vibe. It needs more chilled out, folk and ballads that are more in-keeping with the stunning surroundings. Finally, they’ve got a wasp problem which is really annoying. They could easily get some wasp traps. We’d have stayed longer if not for this. Otherwise, it’s definitely worth a visit and the staff themselves are lovely and helpful.

13/09/2026: The restaurant is very charming and the service very good and friendly. We had high expectations for the food, which the appetizers met. Unfortunately, the main dishes were disappointing, especially the vegetarian pasta. The dessert was good, but not extraordinary. Overall, we felt that the prices did reflect the current quality.

28/08/2026: A gourmet restaurant. The welcome was warm, the young waitress was very friendly and pleasant, and the food lived up to our expectations! My wife and I treated ourselves and had a very, very enjoyable time! I recommend it 100%.

12/05/2026: Our wedding day at this stunning country house hotel was nothing short of magnificent. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and wonderfully down‑to‑earth throughout the entire experience. Caroline is a fantastic manager. The venue itself feels like something lifted straight from a Jane Austen novel, full of charm and quiet grandeur. The grounds are beautifully kept and are picture‑perfect backdrops. Inside, the period‑style rooms and roaring fire create an atmosphere that is both cosy and timeless. The food was out of this world, and the service was truly second to none. Memories we will treasure forever.

24/08/2026: Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and lovely staff! Great location for lunch or a coffee, coffee on the balcony overlooking the river barrow is my favourite spot in New Ross to sit, chill and enjoy a coffee! I'll definitely be back again every time I'm down in New Ross. Little tip, if you like chowder, order it here!

07/05/2026: The Dunraven hotel is an incredibly beautiful old hotel located right on the main street in Adare. Really enjoyed the large bedroom and large bathroom. All the rooms are this way which makes it very easy to relax and unwind. I would have to say that our hotel room is easily twice the size of a typical European hotel room.

08/05/2026: We had a wonderful visit to The Rambler. We are in Tipperary for a week and heard they had live music on Friday night. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The beer was great. Best pint of Guinness I’ve had all trip. We had a conversation with the owner and he gave us tips on places to visit around the area. The musicians were amazing. We had a wonderful visit and we would definitely recommend The Rambler!

27/04/2026: i was here during a work trip in 2014, exactly when Ireland played Germany in the world cup. Not only was the food pretty good and the atmosphere exactly like I expected it to be, it was the warm welcoming and the friendly banter that made me feel very at home, even when I cheered for the wrong team. I really often tell about this evening when somebody asks me about Ireland and how the Irish are. Hope I will be visiting again some day
