17/08/2026: Best burgers in the country. Absolutely love the place.

13/08/2026: Definitely the best chicken burger I've ever had, just like the fries. It's nothing like what we have in France. If you go to Ireland...try it.

16/08/2026: For Europeans, be aware they eat early! The kitchen closes at 7 pm, but the bar stays open. Otherwise, nice dishes, bistro style.

14/07/2026: We sat down for food and had so many waitresses walk by not looking to find out if we wanted menus, let alone a drink. Finally got someone's attention and got some menus...and yet again was left waiting to give an order and this includes a drink order. Then got an our order through eventually to a lovely waitresses. Our drink and food came quick enough but yet again was left waiting so long to give an order for some desserts. Even my son made a comment on why do they keep walking by and not asking if we want something. There seemed to be plenty of waitresses in the place....... but to get fed or watered you may look after yourself or go somewhere with better service.

18/12/2025: Came in late after a long day of travelling and arrived in near closing time. They were very accommodating to me and my partner, we had accommodation already sorted elsewhere but we had some food here and it was deadly. Owners very friendly and recommend us sights to see. Will be back when we visit skibbereen again.

01/08/2026: Very poor breakfast, Omlette wasnt an omlettes, Wasn't fresh American Pancakes and where was the fruit compote????

14/08/2026: We arrived at 7pm and were chancing our arm to get a table. The staff were very welcoming and warm. We were all ravenous after a day at the beach so were grateful that dinner was served promptly. I had one of the best burgers in a very long time, my fellow diners raved about the carbonara and the fish. I would definitely come here again.

23/08/2026: Such a good evening we had there. Came with me husband and me friend Wiggy. Had pints of Guiness and Bailey's coffee. Everything was great : nice place, nice people, great drinks. Now speaking about drinks, let's speak about Brian. Brian is the best. Is Brian nice ? No. Does Brian has to be nice to serve the best Bailey's coffee and Guiness in town ? Nope. Well that's what he does. Brian is a lot of fun if he wants to be and Brian is nice I’m just kidding. Am I tho? I guess you will have to go to know. And you definitely should go. 12/07/2026: I never expected to leave a bad review to Kate’s but I have to be honest about my experience. I have lived in Sligo for 3 years and I work nonstop and am always really busy. So if I find some time to pop into Kate’s Kitchen to grab a cup of coffee, a delicious premade wrap or yogurt, and browse around I’m usually delighted to do so. Although, every time I have ordered my regular flat white with oat milk I’m having to wait for my coffee longer than the people who ordered after me and every time I gave my name and spelled it and the barista pronounces wrong. Usually when people pronounce my name wrong it doesn’t bother me but if people are getting their orders before me when I have ordered and paid for my order before them it is extremely annoying. I popped in yesterday to order my regular coffee and said my name is spelled “Zo” and when the male barista with glasses called out my order he read it, rolled his eyes and called for “Zoey”. You can say this was the last annoying thing I can actually take from this place cause I hoped my experience would get better each time but it didn’t. As much as I used to like going to Kate’s I think I have to stop going as I am tired of coming here thinking it’s a treat for myself and being treated like a subpar customer every time. And for 3 years this has been my experience.

27/08/2026: I like coming here by bike for coffee and a chocolate brownie. They are delicious. I definitely need to try other items from the menu sometime. A huge plus of this place is the outdoor seating. Of course, it is sometimes hard to find an open table, but that is only because it is a popular spot. The staff is very friendly, and even though it gets quite busy, everything has always gone smoothly. For me, it is an ideal stop during a bike ride to Crosshaven.

05/09/2026: We were there for dinner and drinks. Lovely pub with quite an Irish feel. Has many nooks and crannies and live music on the evening. You have to order at the bar and they bring the food to you. It was good/okay, but definitely cannot reach Irish countryside pub food level. The gravy was lacking love :(

05/09/2026: This pub has a captive audience… which is why they are dialing it in on standards. After pints of watery Guinness, I switched to Smithwicks. It was flat. Worse, they insist on charging for food before it is served. We waited for 75 minutes for four fish and chips… yet they served a cold plate of smoked salmon 10 minutes before the rest of the party. There are better places…
