06/01/2026: Unfortunately, Nanny Quinns has closed down now. We didn't book ahead of time but we will in future. That said they were very accommodating and took the pressure in their stride.Lovely old style pub serving great food and a great pint. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was second to none. Beside the canal so perfect for a drink on warmer days. I have passed it by for years but now that we are actually living nearby, we will definitely be frequent visitors.

15/02/2026: Breakfast food ok 5 of us in total had fill Breakfast hit or miss eyes undercooked on 2 undercooked on 1 . Tea toast arrived 5 mins before hot breakfast so toast then cold mushrooms arrived with a spice mixed in then horrible and rubbery liked canned or frozen rashers obviously batch cooked and kept warm some were browned some not.Place was very cold in there jackets had to be left on.

27/01/2026: Julie did a brilliant job serving us today and keeping the fire lit and toasty. she's a chatty friendly warm and welcoming human being. People like Julie make gorey wonderful. Customer interaction is priceless.

25/01/2026: Brilliant food tho the plates didn’t match the description in the menu - specially the sides etc. Great fireplace. Service a bit slow, i think they were understaffed. Bathrooms need to improve a lot.

21/12/2025: One of my favourite pubs in the city! The beer garden is huge and such a vibe during the summer. Wide selection of drink. The (I think) Australian bouncer is so lovely and funny!!

08/12/2025: Our little troupe of geriatric walkers booked our Christmas night out in "Deep South" and from the first contact to the last we were met with outstanding hospitality and real appreciation for the custom. As the organiser, I have to give a special mention to Alannah who was absolutely superb and for whom no detail was too small, even though we were only a group of 13 and there were some big company nights on as well. We were also asked if anyone had any special dietary requirements. As a party venue I would highly recommend "Deep South" and, whoever is organising next year's gig, I imagine there will be no complaints if we return for the next instalment.

16/08/2025: Recently wandered in on a quiet Saturday afternoon after a long walk out from city centre and before returning back to Spain. I had the best turkey and ham dinner ever....it was like having my Christmas dinner early.....perfect in every way and served by a very professional server named Emma I think. Don't know when I'll be back...but I will....please don't change in the meantime. I also love their idea of Spanish Tapas.....next time eh!

14/02/2026: We visited Herbstreet on a Saturday, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The food was genuinely good, both brunch dishes we ordered were high quality and well prepared. Prices are a little on the expensive side, but the flavours and presentation do reflect the effort behind each plate. On weekends they only serve brunch, and something that stood out is that there wasn’t a dedicated tea or coffee menu to choose from, which felt a bit limiting. The place itself is lovely. It has a bright, pretty atmosphere, and the view over the canal adds a really nice touch to the experience. Service was friendly and attentive. The only downside is that they gently remind you that the table is limited to an hour and a half. They do it politely, but it does create a bit of pressure if you’re hoping to enjoy a long, relaxed brunch. If you want to linger and chat for a while, this might not be the ideal spot. Overall, a good brunch option with tasty food and great views, just better suited for a shorter visit than a long weekend catch‑up.

06/01/2026: The branch I frequently visit is in Salthill. The staff there are across the board, so friendly, obliging and courteous. The food, (my preference are the pies,) are all delicious. They make an ab fhab, what I refer to as a Giant Jaffa Cake. 😋😋😋 Well worth the shekels no matter what you like! 👍

16/12/2025: Got a coffee so cant really comment on the food, good prices but service was absolutely atrocious, place was falling apart, hand dryer dying and atmosphere is dead

30/10/2025: We found fantastic food and a cosy room with a sunset view at this place for our one-night visit to Inishbofin during the off season. The ferry arrived a few hours before check-in and they allowed us to drop our bags off early so we could hike around. The bed was extremely comfortable. Adrian couldn’t have been kinder and even connected me with a book that helped me find some details about my ancestry on the island. The bar/restaurant served excellent food and even had a veggie burger for me, which is not something I expect even on the mainland! Don’t hesitate to book here.

16/01/2026: I had a lovely breakfast in Kennedy's, Fairview. The pancakes were absolutely delicious. We were looked after by a lovely waitress, Maria. I saw her looking after an older lady. Maria was so kind, helpful and patient. She helped the older lady get sorted with a taxi.
