Stone Haven Restaurant
Maynooth
30/04/2026: Like always, steak was delicious, portions big. Recomended
29/03/2026: Clean plates for everyone - a compliment to the chef! The variety on the menu was tested by our party of 17 - from teriyaki salmon to duck, pasta, cajun chicken, stirfry and pasta dishes and even lamb meant there was something for everyone. We were very well looked after by Roisin and Theo (thanks for taking our photos). We will be back :-).

13/05/2026: We were here at the pub and had something to eat and drink. Great selection of different beers.
Small menu; we had Jacobsburgers, which were very large and delicious.
11/05/2026: The food is outstanding. And the beer is excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place.

Benners Hotel Tralee
Tralee
07/05/2026: Pretty hotel in the heart of Dingle. Unfortunately, there is no elevator, but the desk clerk said she’d have someone bring our bags up. When she couldn’t find someone promptly, she carried them up herself. Great service! Our room had a beautiful 4 poster bed and fireplace. We ate in their award winning dining room and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and engaging. My husband had the best lamb he’s ever eaten, and my fish and chips was the best of the trip. Wonderful stay.
06/05/2026: Benners Hotel – Tralee 🏨🇮🇪
The stay was okay 🙂 – nothing spectacular, but not a complete disaster either.
The room had a strange window 🪟🤔, and the exhaust fan unfortunately didn't work 🌬️🚫 – that definitely needs improvement.
What was really positive, though, was the staff's friendliness and warmth 😊🙌. We felt welcome from the start, which made the stay much more pleasant ❤️.
Overall, a solid experience with a few minor flaws – hence 3 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Catherine's Bakery
Dublin
08/05/2026: Reviewing only the cafe. Coffee was just ok. Service was mixed. Food was ok at best. Ambience needs help. Either lost its quality or management doesn’t care enough to try a bit harder. Too bad, as it is clearly a local spot and the bakery seems to be the place to spend your money for great quality and service.
07/05/2026: The bread quality used to be great but is disgusting now. Extreme cheap quality, had to throw it all in the bin and won’t buy again. Service at the counter left a lot to be desired also and it could do with a good clean.

Merry Monk
Ballina
09/03/2026: Good food and great craic at the bar. We were touring the Wild Atlantic Way and needed somewhere to stop for the night and grab a bite to eat. The Merry Monk was friendly, welcoming, and great value. A perfect spot if you’re passing through and looking for good food and a relaxed atmosphere.
23/02/2026: Great food, great service, great place to eat🤠

02/04/2026: Excellent restaurant. Generous portions. Nice atmosphere and decor. We went there two nights in a row during our 3-day stopover in Oranmore and regretted not going on the last night.

TJ Ryan Traditional Irish Pub
Cashel legal
01/05/2026: Stopped into T.J. Ryan Traditional Irish Pub after the Rock and this was one of those places that just hits right. The bartender was exactly what you’d hope for, welcoming, easy to talk to, and made you feel like a regular within minutes.
Ended up grabbing toasties and they were so good we went back for seconds, simple food done really well. Sat back with a pint of Guinness and just took in the atmosphere. Warm, relaxed, and one of those spots you don’t rush out of.
18/02/2026: Everything was beyond amazing. Everything you expect from a small Irish bar and town. The bartender Joan was so full of information and so welcoming. The atmosphere was perfect. This is an absolute MUST in Cashel. I’m so thankful I stumbled upon this pub.

JK Stoutmans
Dublin
09/05/2026: Finished up at the distillery and still had about an hour to burn before my train ride, so naturally I made the responsible decision and stopped into DV8 Bar & Venue for “hydration.”
Grabbed a Jameson ginger and lime along with a bag of scampi fries for a snack. Between the miles of walking around Dublin, climbing tower stairs, accidentally rerouting my entire rail journey, and the whiskey tasting earlier, I had definitely earned it.
The drink was simple but solid. Cold, crisp, easy to drink, and probably exactly what my legs needed at that point in the day.
The scampi fries continue to confuse me slightly as an American. They somehow taste like seafood, vinegar, pub salt, and bad decisions all at once, yet pair perfectly with an Irish whiskey highball.
Staff at DV8 were friendly and welcoming, which honestly has been one of the more consistent things I’ve noticed throughout Ireland. Whether it’s a museum, distillery, train station, or pub, most places feel less transactional and more conversational.
Not a bad way to close out an unplanned “I missed my train stop and accidentally spent the day exploring Dublin” adventure.
14/04/2026: Nice little spot, great atmosphere, love the staff

Turk's Head
Dublin
19/05/2026: In town on vacation and stumbled upon this bar as I walked by this raining night. Pulled up a barstool, ordered a red 🍺 ale with fish & chips, and watched football ⚽️. Great experience do recommend. Read a review that stated they dont cook the food but outsource... if so, it was still great!
12/05/2026: Nice bar, nice pints, nice bar stools
The door is always open so it gets cold inside sometimes so wear a jumper or jacket

Leo Burdock's
Dublin
19/05/2026: Fish is very bland, mushy peas are watery, really not worth the hype
17/05/2026: I'm a tourist from Japan.
I've had fish and chips in London too, but this place's was so delicious that the others seemed ridiculous in comparison.
The portion size and taste are both excellent.
Since I'm traveling alone, I think I'll be able to eat some for breakfast and lunch tomorrow too!

Mabel Crawford's Bistro, menu
Cork
12/05/2026: Wonderful property with amazing staff and the hotel was really nice and clean #nocomplaints
04/05/2026: The venue was gorgeous and had an easy to navigate website. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, eg kettle/tea, iron, hairdryer. The beds were too soft for 2 of my colleagues, so they didn’t sleep well at all, but I was fine. The staff were incredibly rude at check in and check out. Considering how much we paid for the room, I expected better customer service. We didn’t even get a smile at check in. The girl was rude, didn’t speak to me while processing my payment (not asking me to choose GBP or EU using her words, she just shoved the card reader in my face, even though I asked for clarification). Upon making the reservation, I notified the hotel that we would have a very late check in and even gave them an estimated time of arrival. The hotel called me the day before I left to confirm my reservation, so I clarified my late check in and assured them I’d be there before “late check in” started. As promised, I was well within my time frame, but received another phone call from the front desk during travel asking where I was and if I was going to be any longer. I was so confused, taken aback and really insulted. When we arrived, she didn’t apologies for her eagerness (which I can only assume was because she just wanted to go home, greet us warmly or even make me feel like we were welcome at all.
