Seeing the canal boat going through the lock, experiencing the view from the canal, speaking to the crew was such a unique experience. The food was amazing and so were the staff, very friendly. The over all price was 100% worth it. Really enjoyed it!

23/08/2025: What an unbelievable place. Gerry is a great host and the golf course is very special. Try to play it with somebody that has played it before to get the full experience. Dinner and drinks were top notch to cap off a wonderful day at Carne. I'll be back.

17/08/2025: The service was pretty dreadful tbh. Sporadic attention, forgotten drinks, we left a tip but it wasn’t for the service. The food is good, with vegan and veggie options, but their service team need to up their game, it wasn’t even busy when we were there.

28/08/2025: We always take our in-laws here, because they love it and honestly, so do we! It’s such a cute spot right by the lake. Everyone has their own favorites, but the vegan and vegetarian options are really good. The desserts are great too. On a sunny day, it’s awesome to grab a table on the terrace, have a coffee or a bite to eat, and just watch the ducks on the lake. The place is super popular, so you might have to wait for a table if you’re with a bigger group, but it’s totally worth it. We always have a lovely time here and never get tired of it!

13/03/2025: Amazing spot for food . We had a family celebration there today. We had a set menu. The choices were excellent. The drinks menu was very good . The staff were very attentive . The restaurant was so relaxed and an amazing venue for a gathering. The views from the restaurant were amazing. I would highly recommend this venue for food and drink .

09/07/2024: Simple and good. Very friendly staff! Watched football on TV with great sound. We had two meals, the burger which was great and the steak sandwich which unfortunately was disappointing to me as the steak was not so good... as it is listed as one of the specialtys of the house that should've done better! But had an overall great evening.

22/08/2025: It's more about ordering something typical in a typical place. The food isn't anything special, but it's cool. The prices are expensive, yes, but they're the same everywhere in Ireland, and even more so in a tourist spot.

21/08/2025: This spot is one of Dublin’s iconic places for fish and chips, so I made a point to walk over and grab some. It’s takeout only—no dine-in. Luckily, there was no line when I went and the food came out super fast. I ordered the classic cod fish and chips and took it to a nearby park to enjoy. The fish was huge and definitely filling, but the chips were a bit on the soft side—I personally would’ve liked them fried a little longer for that extra crunch. The portion size was generous, though the overall flavor was a bit mild. All in all, a solid experience!

24/08/2025: Breakfast is included in our package at Clontarf Castle Hotel, and it is wonderful! Everything you can possibly think of and more. The staff is very attentive. They’ll ask you right away if you want coffee or tea, but we prefer lattes and my husband likes his with almond milk. Just an FYI for you before you go so you know to ask for it.

01/09/2025: Food and desserts were phenomenal. Lauren was excellent in terms of service. Very responsive with always a smile on her face. Would definitely come there again if given the opportunity.

29/08/2025: We had heard many good things about this restaurant, so we decided to visit with high expectations. Unfortunately, as soon as we entered, we were met by a very unfriendly woman who we believe was the shift manager. She was expressionless, abrupt, and made us feel unwelcome from the very first moment. The atmosphere quickly became uncomfortable, and in the end we decided to leave without staying. It’s worth mentioning that there was only one other table occupied at the time, so it wasn’t a matter of her being overwhelmed with work. Sadly, this experience left us with a very negative impression, despite the restaurant’s good reputation. I think that the food there is great but unfortunately we didn't have the chance to taste it.

15/08/2025: Very busy but managed to get a table...food was fantastic the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Second time here and was as good as we remembered... excellent...will be back... highly recommend...
