10/05/2025: Amazing place, wonderful staff, beautiful view, great food

10/05/2025: We booked a 2 bed apartment (No.11). The condition of the apartment was nothing short of a disgrace. Ceiling was leaking, bulbs in light fittings did not work, the TV did not work, the dryer did not work, the lamp shades were filthy and a telephone was randomly placed on the floor next to the sofa with no table, it just sat on the floor. I informed reception about the condition and they asked me to send the photos in via email which I did. 4 days later and iv received no response. Hospitality 101 is to run a checklist of functioning items in the room before releasing it to a guest. This place falls far below the standards of any hotel let alone a 4 star one. I won’t be returning.

11/05/2025: Seems to be the only pub that has survived in Rathfarnham village. Nice area to sit outside on a sunny day for a drink. We didn't eat but the food looked nice. The group beside us ordered and it seemed like a looooong time before the food arrived.

11/04/2025: 1 hour waiting for food on a sunny Friday afternoon. No communication about the obvious issues in the kitchen. First time visit from a new Rathfarnham resident, won't be back for many years.

10/05/2025: Lovely visit to Herbstreet for brunch this morning. Glad we had booked as it was very busy. This however didn’t compromise on the friendly welcome that we were greeted with and the attentive service throughout. We’d booked an indoor table but asked if we could sit outside as it was such a beautiful day and the outdoor seating area at the front had a lovely view over the docks and was basking in sunshine. This was accommodated and early explained when the table was to be returned. Great menu with a range of breakfast/lunch options. Food was delicious and portions very generous. Hadn’t visited this area of Dublin before but lots of interesting sightseeing opportunities close by for afterwards. Hope to visit again.

07/06/2024: Dropped in here for some Sunday dinner lovely little pub with a restaurant staff are fantastic felt very welcomed! Food was fantastic definitely return visit on the cards 👍🏼

18/05/2024: I was at the hangedmans restraunt today with my family. As I was sitting down having our dinner I over heard a horrendous conversation with the owner of the restraunt. The owner was shouting at a woman from what I understood was not her fault at all as someone with her had canceled a booking, the owner then went on to tell the woman to f***off and to leave. Another man then came up to tell the owner that this wasn’t right or talk to a woman like that, and his response to the man was f*** off aswell, totally inexcusable behaviour and should not shout and use vulgar language to a woman. I said it to him when paying for our bill that I would be leaving this review as I was disgusted with his behaviour. Do not come here unless you want to be shouted at or abused for no reason. The owner is a horrid man

21/04/2025: Really enjoyed this, excellent dining experience. Food was excellent and the wine list was fabulous.

13/04/2025: Such a warm friendly greeting Had an amazing meal Perfect service Can’t wait to go back again The chef was great and had time to have a good chat with us with lots off details about the local area We were the first people in but within half an hour the place was full and buzzing His wife was lovely But oh the food and wine were 1st class Thanks so much to you and your lovely staff

17/05/2025: The only complaint I would have about my room, the very loud thumping music coming from gym in hotel. I complained in person to a staff member on reception. I rang down one morning at 6.15 as music had started up again. I was moved to a quieter room. I found a bit of difficulty getting in and out of bath. Next time I would ask for a walk in shower if possible. The food was lovely. Your staff on reception and in bistro were so kind and attentive. I would hope to return in near future for more relaxation and good company.

24/04/2025: I had the beef stew and bar none in was the best Beef Stew I have ever had. They even offered more once I had finished which truly shocked me. This pub/Restaurant is a must visit if in Dublin. I wish we were staying longer so we could come again before leaving.

03/05/2025: I had the wonderful homemade soup and the brown bread which was also homemade and tasty. Chips were made fresh and I’m sure the ketchup was too. My husband had the spicy chicken wrap and my Son had the breakfast burrito which they really enjoyed also. Many thanks for a really tasty lunch

15/04/2025: We went in to get some food, when we arrived in there was one table free which a waitress was cleaning, as I am six months pregnant I went to sit down while my partner ordered, the waitress cleaning the table was friendly and greeted me with small talk. However, the person serving at the counter shouted across the entire full cafe that I could not sit down, the table was for someone else- There was no reserved sign, the waitress cleaning never said anything to me when I sat down, all she had asked was had I ordered which I told her my partner was doing. We have been here before and I have, as I did that day sat down as my partner ordered our food, however on this occasion we left absolutely mortified as a result of the hostility and attitude of the server.

13/05/2025: Great experience and perfect location for a corporate networking event. Such a unique location, every raved about the attentiveness and kindness of the staff and how delicious the canapés were. Jaya was my point of contact and she was excellent to deal with, professional and quick to answer any query throughout. We had to reschedule our event from last year and she was extremely helpful. Hope to visit again!

05/05/2025: We were here last weekend for a hen party and it was amazing! Staff were so friendly and helpful and drinks flowing non-stop, we had a great time. Would highly recommend for future events!
