15/07/2025: I don't understand why they say the food will be ready in 20 minutes on the phone when ordering and when you go to collect you are waiting an additional 20 to 40 mins, especially when other customers for collection show up afterwards and get served quicker. also while waiting in there you can hear the other customers having a conversation saying that they have been waiting a long time and also saying that they have been waiting along time because they don't know them. Should it not be first come first served and not served on a personal level of knowing someone?

24/08/2025: Been here a number of times for a pint but last night we celebrated my mother’s birthday so went for dinner. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The staff and service were the standout as they were really helpful about arranging for a birthday cake if I needed and when I brought one from outside they were on the ball with bringing to the table bang on time and even gave a great rendition of “Happy Birthday” to my mother’s surprise (shock, maybe :)) Can’t say enough about how great the staff were. Will definitely be back.

19/05/2025: Super good, one of the best places to eat on our trip. The service was incredible, attentive, fast, friendly, and correct. I also want to highlight the prices, better than in Dublin, with typical Irish food, both in quantity and quality. The downstairs is a small supermarket with takeout, and upstairs is the restaurant, a cozy and charming place.

13/08/2025: Was in there today for lunch with two friends, one omelette, chips and salad, one chicken, cheese salad sandwich no butter, one chicken salad sandwich both with chips, omelette and salad arrived, ten minutes later the sandwiches arrived and the chips, both sandwiches had salad, one small piece of chicken on one side of the sandwich only, both had bits of hard bacon on them, absolutely disgusting, chips were no better, a place to avoid.

11/08/2025: Very good food with a good atmosphere but on the other hand the wait is not possible!! Waiting 40 minutes for 3 burgers and a salad is ok but not 20 minutes for a brownie. And the room was not full.

09/08/2025: I have visited this restaurant many times over the years and always enjoyed it. Recently, while travelling from Cork to Waterford with our new dog, we stopped hoping to eat at an outdoor table or in the beer garden. I was surprised to be told dogs are not allowed anywhere on the property, even outside. Coming from England where dogs are welcome in outdoor areas, this was disappointing, especially for a location near lovely woods popular with dog walkers. Unfortunately, this means we will not be returning.

07/08/2025: Pretty disappointing experience overall, burgers were not good meat tasted and looked like it was frozen, roast of the day was good, desserts were also disappointing sherry trifle was ok, the meringue was awful, soft not crunchy and the berry roulade smelt gone off, I couldnt finish it, chocolate fudge cake was dry and bland. Wouldnt come here again. Guinness was also quite bad.

15/08/2025: Only qualm I had was parking. It was ridiculously crazy trying to find a parking spot. But the hotel was amazing, staff was great and professional... I would definitely recommend.

04/08/2025: Went for a meal and would like a weekend there...great food in a modern, bright and well maintained setting. Good traditional Irish friendly welcome and atmosphere.

28/07/2025: Lovely hotel but for price point would have expected better. We booked a room with a balcony which was quite spacious but I felt the bathroom was too small. I was looking forward to a relaxing bath but it felt too confined & when my partner went to try it out, the water had a brownish hue so that put me off completely. Could get rid of desk area with mirror & extend bathrooms, especially in the balcony rooms. The balcony itself was very big & had stunning views, but again needs some maintenance, boards falling at the side & a bad finish to the front, again for the price point would expect better. Was disappointed on check in that the receptionist called out our room number when other people around the lobby, if I was travelling alone, I would have asked for my room to be changed. We were advised on check in there was live music in the bar @ 9pm so we came down to have a drink & to check it out, but there was no music on & no real atmosphere, so we went back to our room to chill out. Breakfast was ok, sausages & eggs where good but did not enjoy the rest. Apple juice was very watered down & tasted more like water. Overall, will love to come back to Sneem, but don't think we will book this hotel, sadly.

17/08/2025: The rudest staff I have ever come across, especially the manager/ bar man with an English accent. Shushing customers and speaking abruptly to us because he couldn't cope with the 2 groups of customers coming into the bar for food at the same time. It wasn't even busy, but he couldnt handle it. We all have bad days, but the look on the staffs' faces suggest this is a regular occurance from him. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. We ended up leaving. I feel sorry for the other staff, especially the lovely waiting staff who were trying to explain to him which group was to be seated next and looking at us with an apologetic look on their faces. Avoid at all costs.

14/07/2025: As a family of 4 eating out in 2025 is very expensive now. What’s worse is paying a large amount and being disappointed, either with the quality or the amount of food. We have been here several times now and have never been disappointed. Portion size is amazing and gives excellent value. Food was delicious. Friendly service. We’ll be back again.

15/08/2025: What a gem of a restaurant! We had a warm welcome from the kind, warm and very entertaining Peter, and his team. The food was fantastic. Down to earth, unpretentious, good value, but high quality and delicious - exactly what we were looking for after a long drive from Dublin. We enjoyed hake, salmon and sea bass with a delicious lemon sauce, mash and vegetables. There's a lovely atmosphere and homely feel to the restaurant, with so much attention to detail and attentive service. Highly recommended.

Wait times are short, and the selection of dishes is well-prepared and varied, so you're sure to find something you like. The ambiance is lovely, and you can linger there for a long time. Highly recommended!
