05/05/2025: Had dinner here the other day, while the sun was out. The views are particularly astounding in any weather, but with the sun out in all its glory it's fantastic. There's even a boat moared up, also waiting to go in to the restaurant. Then whilst my friend + I we're having our dinner, another bigger boat pulled in.

31/03/2025: Amazing food cooked to perfection, and the service was brilliant, we stayed there for two nights and the rooms were very nice

19/08/2025: 3 of us played snooker next door and went in for a pint in here after. Two bar men on in the tall fella a nice bloke but there was another lad on and in all my years goin to pubs I've never been met by someone so bloody rude!!this man should not be dealing with members of the public. Huge chip on his shoulder.asked him where the toilet was didn't have the respect to even say anything just pointed. Blasted the pint down on the table when we ordered at the start. I wouldn't step foot back into this place again so unbelievably rude !!!

10/08/2025: Make sure when you book for dinner that you check they have written it down in the book. We showed up with a big party - having booked a month in advance - and were turned away with the implication that we had made it up. No apology - somewhat lacking in people skills.

13/07/2025: We stayed here for one night. The room was fresh, the location was central and the breakfast was good! Good service!

25/06/2025: Never in my 52 years on this planet have I ever experienced a genuine traditional Irish pub with fabulous musician for a trad session on Tuesday night. From the owner to the whiskey drinking bar man and musicians. Love you all. Had the time of my life. Thanks Sarah for the lift home... Gerard & Jenny.

12/08/2025: I didn't come for food only drink. I believe if I were a local this is a pub I would attend more frequently. This is just salt of the Earth. No gimmicks nothing to bring you in but a warm atmosphere and great staff. Excellent pour of Guinness and I strongly recommend the Dingle whiskey.

18/08/2025: August 2025. We had dinner there today. The food was delicious, the staff very friendly. Highly recommended.

17/08/2025: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Group of 41 people for 2 nights. Brian, the owner of the Waterside, arranged for additional B&B accommodation (right next door) to accommodate the entire group. Located along the River Barrow, the setting is magnificent. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The Irish breakfast was fabulous. Both dinners were generous and excellent. The Waterside comes highly recommended for its hospitality, with a big thank you to Brian for his kindness, professionalism, and his very friendly and helpful staff.

11/08/2025: Disappointing experience overall. The service and customer care fell short of expectations, and the pricing felt unjustifiably high for what was offered.

22/08/2025: Only giving one star because i cant give less. A group of 7 of us arrived at 12pm on Sunday, we asked about breakfast and the lovely young woman working there told us that it had finished at 12 but that she would ask the kitchen. She then told us that breakfast would be no problem and gave us menus. We were thrilled. But then, a woman, who we took to be the owner arrived, and seeing we were looking at the breakfast menu told us that breakfast was finished. We explained that her staff had kindly accommodated us and she then went in to the kitchen and came back to tell us that there would be no breakfast. We left and had a lovely breakfast up the road at the Coffin Shed who were more than happy to give us breakfast. Really poor show by Jacobs Well

23/07/2025: Food was great a d lovely staff. We had a restaurant voucher given to us for our 50th anniversary but it was not accepted on their system. We checked it on return home and there shouldn't have been a problem looks like it was on the restaurants system. A little disappointing as we checked before booking.

21/07/2025: Waiter Smile, music, seafood like oyster, mussel, lobster and rain. Perfect moment on this bar in Howth town. Really sweet time.

25/08/2025: Rooms are hot. No A/c which might not be a problem in cold weather. However, the inside temp was way warmer than outside in summer. Window only open a crack. Rooms need updating. Not great, but ok. Probably won’t stay here again.

10/07/2025: Stayed here for 3 days with friends and everything about this hotel is excellent. Savandra is exceptionally good at her job and is super friendly as is all the staff at this hotel.
