27/03/2026: We went to the Gateway today for a family birthday. The sevice was slow but food was reasonable even though vegetables arrived when meal was nearly eaten. The main problem was with the service and attitude of staff. We asked for a jug of water before meal and asked two different girls on four different occasions without water arriving. When it did arrive the jug and glasses were slammed on table. We will not be back

22/08/2026: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely unbelievable food. I got the nachos with taco mince and they were honestly some of the nicest nachos I’ve ever had. Perfectly done, loads of flavour and, best of all, they weren’t ruined by throwing a load of fancy stuff, onions and all that shite on top 😂 Just simple, proper food done absolutely perfectly. I could genuinely eat them for the rest of my life. The chicken tenders were also amazing — perfectly cooked and full of flavour. On top of the food, the hospitality was brilliant and every member of staff we dealt with was so friendly and welcoming. Couldn’t fault a single thing. Thank you very, very much. We’ll 100% be back!

30/07/2026: Great gluten free options! Stopped off for some food in the town, and tried the bar in Villa Rose. Staff were so friendly and helpful, and gave us huge confidence that there was no cross contamination in the kitchen. Plus the food was delicious !

21/08/2026: Disgusting experience, has been good for years no idea what happened . Got ice cream a few months ago and i’m not the type to complain or make a scene but this is the final straw with this place after finding multiple hairs in food… outright disgusting. It’s in the cookie from the icecream, small black hair if you look closely. I did not want to cause a scene, or complain but after some while I built up courage and quietly asked for a new one, I got a new one and just as I sat down to eat it I look closely again and I wish I was making this up, a hair again, in the same spot, in the cookie again. I believe that hair just got in the plastic container they keep the cookies in or whatever container and they just covered them in hairs. So disgusting, first time I could deal with it, but the second time I just felt nauseous, in the bin there and then. That was my first trouble with this place… I believed it was just desserts so I told myself I would stay away. Just to add - after we ordered those ice creams my partner went up to get a burger for takeaway, one of the workers speaks in a foreign language to another workers saying essentially “Just scranning over there” regarding us.. but just imagine a worse adjective than scranning but I cannot translate accurately into english. My partner understood and heard, she clearly didn’t expect that and when he stared at her after she said that nasty comment she quickly looked away in embarrassment. Very lucky we didn’t say much that day but it was a horrible experience to say the least. A family member ordered me a burger takeaway from there again maybe 2 months later as I opened it took max 2 bites, sitting in between the meat and bun I found another hair, long and brown/black. Look you might not believe me as obviously the picture is from home but believe me I didn’t want to either, not only my hair is blonde, my hair also wouldn’t get submerged like that into the burger if it was possibly mine…. I pulled it out, took the picture, and I am now leaving this review. Shocking god knows what happened to this place never coming back traumatised me enough. Third time is not the charm.

17/08/2026: Honestly, you can't help some companies. Chicken deep fried like it was revenge! Milkshake is just milk... Not sure why they don't just say chocolate milk, would not be disappointed with chocolate milk, but you called it a milkshake?!?! Chips 3/5! Like how do you make OKAY fries? Who the hell got up one day and said: "I want to be mediocre!" Well, whoever it was, well done you are a great success!!!!

20/10/2026: We had high expectations for this restaurant, however, it was the worst place we ate in Galway. First, the waitress was in a bad mood; I think she wanted to leave because it was Sunday, so we practically had to drag the words out of her. Then, her boss was also in a bad mood. As for the food, we ordered beef stew because there weren't many options, and this dish was neither plentiful nor tasty as we expected. To make matters worse, we asked for bread to go with the meal, and she charged us an extra 3 euros for a few slices, something she didn't mention when we asked if they had any. Considering that in a good café, an excellent pastry like a croissant or something similar costs 1 euro, I think it was a real rip-off. There are many other places to eat in Galway; consider this before choosing. Thank you.

21/07/2026: Room was very low end - no air conditioning in very high heat - and bathrooms were poor quality. Location is good and place has gated parking - but would likely find a better place next time.

20/06/2026: The service at the desk was great. The rooms are the down side of staying here. Our room didn’t have AC. They had a fan in the room but it was still very hot. The bathrooms were very dated and could use an update.

25/10/2026: Amazing thank you to you all. You made my Dublin Marathon experience just amazing. When my legs decided they'd had enough you poured me the most wonderful pint of Guinness to go. That pint brought so much joy to so many people I met back on the course. Unforgettable. Highly recommend.

13/10/2026: Food was incredible, loved the creamed leeks, pork chop and Sunday roast. Service was very slow waited over 40 minutes for our food and heard from other diners that this is the case frequently. However the food and the cozy vibe was perfect

07/04/2026: I've always had great fondness for this shop and I hope the future is bright for it. Having said that, every time I go in lately there's been less and less on sale. No soup of the day, no wines to browse, none of a particular high-end frozen pizza that I became a fan of - and today evidently no ice-cream for sale at all! So I report with sadness that I often come away empty-handed of late.

21/08/2026: Food exceptional. Waiters are dressed impeccably and numerous, but sadly not very attentive or tuned in. More staff than clients in the bar, yet a member of staff had to be waved down for every step of service. Spotlessly clean toilets. Can't stress enough that the food is fantastic.

16/10/2026: I recently went shopping for a new frying pan and was quite overwhelmed by the sheer variety on offer. I cannot praise ELIJAH highly enough for his professionalism, patience and exceptional product knowledge. He was initially explaining the different qualities of frying pans to another customer, and I joined the conversation as we were both looking for something similar. Thankfully, the lady didn't mind! Elijah took the time to explain the differences in quality, materials and performance, making the whole experience both informative and enjoyable. He even went out of his way to check the stockroom to find the exact 28cm frying pan I was looking for. I can genuinely say that I would have hired this gentleman on the spot! It is incredibly refreshing these days to meet someone who takes such pride in their work and genuinely cares about helping customers make the right choice. Truly outstanding customer service. Elijah is an absolute credit to the store, and I hope management recognises what an exceptional employee they have.

03/11/2026: Had a great experience at O'Neill's! It's a self-service bar, which is a fun and convenient concept. Easy to grab your own drinks without having to wait around for service. The atmosphere was enjoyable, and it was a great spot to stop in, relax, and enjoy a few drinks. Definitely a unique experience and worth checking out if you're in the area!

03/11/2026: A large, multi-story, and labyrinthine pub. The food was decent and reasonably priced for Dublin. The atmosphere was very pleasant.

07/10/2026: Was charged 4.90 for a caramel latte and it was horrible.Went in just to try the coffee.Girl serving had no manners.Want good coffee go up to jaffaholics up the road.
