04/09/2026: Terrible dining experience overall. We called ahead to confirm they were dog‑friendly and were told dogs were welcome. However, upon arrival we were treated rudely. Our dog was only allowed on the floor, and we could not sit in the main dining area on the ground floor — we were forced to eat upstairs at high bar stools instead. Only one of the staff looks friendly to our dog. Both starters and main dishes were disappointing. We specified medium‑rare beef, yet it came fully well‑done. The chicken stir‑fried noodles were overly sweet, and the chicken wings were extremely dry. Our requests were ignored and the service was unpleasant. Bad experience.

25/08/2026: Not the cheapest chipper in Dublin but it earns the price. Clean inside with plenty of seating, no squeezing onto a bench with your tray, and the fish itself was properly tasty with a generous portion that actually felt worth what I paid. There's history behind the name too, the The batter was light and the fish flaked apart properly rather than turning to mush. Sure hit the spot. Solid choice if you want a sit-down fish and chips without queuing at one of the more famous spots, and the extra seating room makes it an easy stop if you're eating with more than one or two people.

23/08/2026: The place is never open. Shutters are always down even on weekends. Very poor business hours. Was here today Saturday 1pm during the day closed. Was here the Saturday before that at 7pm also closed. I tried the food here once and enjoyed it just don’t be surprised if the shutters are down when you arrive. Strange place!

26/10/2025: Have been there a couple times recently for family events great selection of Malaysian and Asian dishes as well as steaks and seafood service and atmosphere are excellent

21/08/2026: Food exceptional. Waiters are dressed impeccably and numerous, but sadly not very attentive or tuned in. More staff than clients in the bar, yet a member of staff had to be waved down for every step of service. Spotlessly clean toilets. Can't stress enough that the food is fantastic.

18/08/2026: Came here last night of a break with my two teens as a treat. Food and place amazing but most of all staff were nicest ice ever experienced. Fitted us in although very busy and treated us like VIPs.

19/06/2026: The staff here are so nice and the food is very tasty. We visited with a large group including a child twice last week for brunch & both times really enjoyed the food. Its a nice cosy relaxing atmosphere with options for everyone. Would recommend

25/04/2026: If I had a 4.5 star option that is how I’d rate Delish in Castletroy. I’ve had breakfast here a few times and it’s always consistent. The service is good and the food is even better. Quality ingredients and everything cooked fresh. They don’t over charge either for extra eggs or things like that like some places. Overall it’s fairly priced for what you get. No complaints and would recommend it to others.

16/08/2026: I was attending a wedding in a nearby hotel and booked two nights, with a steak dinner which was 50 euro extra. I wasnt told the details of the dinner and when it came to it, I could only choose one side with my main, which I thought was mean, just make the dinner a dinner no extra payment, two sides, chips and veg, .... easy... I had to pay I think 5 euro for some carrots. kinda spoiled the experience, and also when I asked the waiter what was included he kept insisting it was a three course meal, starter , main and tea or coffee. when I asked again he said the same, and it wasn't until I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that desert was included. overall the hotel was fine, the Guinness on tap from the bar was almost undrinkable though, unusually bad!

09/06/2026: Great location in Gorey, and as a base for trips around Wexford. Just minutes from Courtown Harbour. Nice big room, water, tea and coffee in the room, third time visiting, nice pool, would come back, A+

10/09/2026: 3.5 stars. Very nice, snug bar. They had a great two man band playing which made a lovely atmosphere. We got BBQ food there which was okay. The Guinness was beautiful!

26/03/2026: I bring groups of over-55s to the cafe for working lunches as they use new AI tools to decide on best options. The cakes always win five stars. Most of my friends opt for tea and sandwiches and it’s for those specialities that I award five stars.

See my review below: The best breakfast / lunch restaurant in Monkstown bar none. Everything on the menu is delicious it’s so hard to choose. Super service too! I’m a regular and always will be. Highly recommend an early G&T.

06/04/2026: Had a fantastic stay - the place is all about relaxation. Room had a wonderful view over the lake. Food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough.

29/03/2026: We had the most incredible two-night stay at Carrig Country House and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the setting completely won us over — right on the lake with breathtaking views that make it so easy to unwind and switch off. The house itself is full of charm and character, with a warm, cosy atmosphere that feels truly special. Being invited for coffee and homemade cake with biscuits after checking in is a great touch. We were lucky enough to stay in the Presidential Suite, which made the experience even more memorable. The space, comfort, and stunning views were exceptional — it felt like a real treat and the perfect place to relax. What really sets Carrig apart, though, is the hospitality. The team are genuinely welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful, creating a stay that feels personal and effortless. The dining experience was a real highlight. Being welcomed into a cosy sitting room to relax and discuss the menu before being called through to dinner is such a charming, old-world touch — it made each evening feel special. The food itself was outstanding from start to finish, with top-quality ingredients and beautifully presented dishes. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with incredible food, beautiful surroundings, and truly warm hospitality, this place is a gem. Thank you to Claire, Kevin and the team for everything. We’ll definitely be back.

13/08/2026: The food was delicious and the service was fantastic, my son who is autistic was able to enjoy a calm table and enjoy his meal. Definitely family friendly

11/06/2026: Glaushaus is very handy for Tallaght hospital or the Reeves centre. The rooms are clean with TV and tea making facilities. Ate in the bar and the food was inedible. Service was very poor and despite our 2 dishes uneaten we were not even asked if everything was ok.

01/06/2026: Our room was not cleaned, when we mentioned this they didn't believe us, so they came up to check, of course they apologized afterwards and we got a new room, but still. We had breakfast packed because our plane left early, but we shouldn't have because it was pretty poor (water, yogurt, dry oat bars, dry bread, butter).
