08/05/2025: Booked a night at his hotel for 161 which said breakfast included. Got there only to be told by the reciptionist(who mentioned it before me) that breakfast wasn't included an it was typo. Terrible price for a hotel on the outskirts of the town an horrendous for a hotel to backtrack on they're word. Stay away at all costs

02/06/2025: The Glenbeigh hotel. Is an absolute treat. This is real old world charm feels like an old traven from the 1700 clean and tidy but real old world. I Love some of the cubby corner. The staff are warm and welcoming & treat us really well. Food is exceptional consistent always. We always have the steak, best you can get. This place is a real gem. Just try it, you won't be disappointed.

18/05/2025: Esperamos durante 1 hora para obtener 3 comidas simples. Otros, que vinieron mucho después de que nos fuimos mucho antes de que recibiera nuestra orden. No se ofrecen disculpas. Muy malas opciones para los vegetarianos, tuve que ir con ensalada de pollo / tocino sin la carne, y todavía se le cobró por el elemento de menú completo - sin descuento para la carne que no puedo comer! Muy decepcionante, nunca recomendaré a nadie que venga aquí.

17/05/2025: Called in for lunch on Sunday, staff were brilliant, very helpful, the food was absolutely amazing, we had the steak sandwich and the battered cod & chips, we will be calling in again soon, well worth the price,

13/06/2025: Amazing gem - I can’t recommend it highly enough. Orla is lovely and warm, and our dinners were simply fabulous. From the courgette soup, to the Clare Island salmon, and onward into some very exciting dessert options, we were simply transported. Thank you to Gaffneys for our finest dinner out, yet!

20/05/2025: Fantastic food and beautiful surroundings Visited on 2 occasions in the last few weeks and the food was excellent on both occasions. The pasta and pizza were delicious and the special medley was top class Mescan beer brewed locally is available and don't forget to try the desserts.......this local restaurant is well worth a bit and great value

22/05/2025: Had an experience of a lifetime here. The food was absolutely stunning in presentation and taste. Everything was perfectly timed and the staff were kind, attentive and professional! I have several allergies that had to be accounted for and with each plate I was impressed by the creative interpretation of the allergy option. I never felt let down nor that I was eating a different tasting menu. All the guest with me couldn’t stop raving about how wonderful the flavors were. I would highly recommend this dining experience and send high praise to the chef!

31/03/2025: My sister was back from Australia for a few days to help with family matters recently and I booked us a night away at Mount Juliet. The estate itself is beautiful and we had no complaints about the stay. We were very disappointed in our meal at The Lady Helen though. I love food and treat myself to Michelin restaurants as often as I can and had been really looking forward to our meal. We had a lovely bottle of wine but the meal just wasn’t to the level I am used to when you’re paying quite a lot for an experience. I don’t know if it was an off day, or the overall flavor profiles of the dishes, which were also very small but nothing tasted amazing. We didn’t enjoy any of them and wouldn’t want to order any of them again. I’ve had some outstanding dishes as part of tasting menus in Rome and Paris that I would fly back for, just to eat that dish again, that I still remember to this day and unfortunately I couldn’t say that about anything we ate here. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful and the service was excellent. It was really just the flavours I think in that nothing stood out and a couple of the dishes including the mackerel and veal were surprisingly unpleasant. There was a weird off putting texture to the mushroom dish too. The chocolate dessert was nice but not remarkable. I was hoping to have found somewhere special closer to home that I could return to with others and with excitement, but that was not the case. Ultimately, I wouldn’t be compelled to return and only if I wasn’t paying for it myself.

01/05/2025: Second visit in recent months, but will not return. Served coffee in a dirty cup. The whole place is dirty, floor hasn't been washed in days. Windows dirty, table sticky. Overall very rundown. Shame

19/03/2025: I have had an amazing breakfast here a couple times before, but just to make it even better I went with a friend yesterday for some food there. I was only going to have a tea as I am on diet and can track food at home better. The ladies asked me then am I having anything and I realised I didn't have my morning omelette so I could gauge the calories in that so I asked them would they do me an omelette and they couldn't have been more helpful, they were like "as many eggs as you like" and they were throwing suggestions at me for what else i could have in it which was funny.. but i was able to tell them exactly what I want & so jolly. Where else would you find anywhere so accommodating. So helpful and warm and of coarse charming. Something that seems to be rare these days. Loved it here.

15/04/2025: Needs a refurb, and a clean, no frosted glass in bathroom. Fixtures coming away.

08/05/2025: Unfortunately the place was very dirty, it smelled really bad, glasses were not washed properly, they were sticky with spots on them, a menu was stained. Staff members were trying their best… It was hard to force ourselves to eat, we barely touched our meals. It was our second time in this cafe, first time it was pretty much the same but a little bit cleaner.
