26/06/2026: We had a 5 night stay and I have to say it was a fabulous experience. My wife has MND and I explained this when booking as I was a bitter nervous with our first hotel stay since diagnosis but everything was done by the hotel to make our visit just right including putting a shower seat in the bathroom for my wife. From check in to check out everything was so perfect my wife wants me to look at booking another break later in the year

02/06/2026: Just back from a weekend in the hotel....it was brilliant. Great staff and rooms. Lovely food. But its the location, I mean directly across from the sea and the beach. Walking the promenade and getting fresh air. The best.

04/11/2026: This was recommended by my tour guide for the fish and chips and it was good with two big pieces of fish. It was constantly busy at the counter where you order when I was there. It looks small when you walk in, but they have plenty of seating further back that you can’t immediately see. I ordered a Diet Coke and it tasted off (maybe Coke Zero), so they replaced it with a can. The improvement area was the bathroom. The floor was all wet in there!

13/10/2026: Best Fish and Chips We Had in Ireland! Now we know why the tour buses stop at Harringtons! ;: The fish and chips were fantastic — crispy, golden, fresh, generous portions, and absolutely delicious. My wife tried fish and chips at several places during our trip, and she says Harringtons was BY FAR the best! Be prepared for a line, especially when the tour buses roll in. Try to time your visit between busloads of tourists. But even if you have to wait a bit, it’s absolutely worth it!

20/07/2026: Alex is an absolute gentleman. My order was missing a few items, so the next time I went into Supermacs I was genuinely blown away by his generosity making up for the previous error. You really don't see this kind of service anymore. Couldn't recommend the restaurant enough.

03/06/2026: Overall, the hotel is nice. However , the location isn’t ideal if you want to be within walking distance of anything fun or cool. It’s on a golf course so it’s very relaxing , but boring. As far as the rooms, super outdated and inconsistent. We booked two rooms, one of them came with water and all the towels you would need. The other room didn’t have any water , and only two towels were provided. If you have to stay here in a pinch it’s okay, but I wouldn’t book here again. Not horrible, just not my favorite.

01/06/2026: We booked a last minute stay directly through the website as it looked on the surface to be excellent value; family of 4 for one night, bank holiday weekend, with breakfast for under €150, and access to the pool, which was our must have for visiting with 2 kids who love a pool. Lobby area is stunning, wide open and beautiful chandelier. We had a bit of a wander around and found that the ballroom area also was beautiful. It does feel more like a golf course with a hotel. We ate dinner in the bar with the kids; service was slow as it was very full with what seemed like both locals and hotel guests (positive sign) but not enough staff, but we got there in the end, and it seemed decently priced as well, which is good because the restaurant part did seem a bit excessively priced, and without the bar menu option, we absolutely would have eaten elsewhere. Breakfast the next morning was also good; not a massive selection, the usual fry up, 3 cereals, toast and pastries, but all good. The coffee was not good though, that needs addressing, as it was clearly granule coffee, and definitely too many granules, more like tar. A couple of things werent perfect with the fry up - fried eggs were all overdone, tomatoes a bit underdone, but overall it was good and filled a hole. The bread selection and sausages and bacon in particular were lovely. The pool in very convenient, all within the hotel itself, with changing rooms, showers, large pool, kids pool area, jacuzzi, all in good/great condition, and id go so far as to say the sauna is in excellent condition. The steam room was definitely struggling with the steam element, but it was ok. Kids had a blast. The room itself - this is why its so cheap. We stayed in room 106. Despite all the positives, the food, the pool, the lobby area, the room is a let down. The rooms are old and tired, and need updating. The carpet is musty, the windows old and a bit moldy, and the beds a bit lumpy. There is no air conditioning in the rooms. The bathroom is very tired; mold between tiles, stains in the tub, leak at the toilet. The biggest issue was two silverfish in the bathroom which to find was a big surprise, pointing to that there are probably a lot more. Must be living under the tub. I know how terrible these are to get rid off, but it has to be prioritised. No doubt they will, and I did immediately let the receptionist know, and she was going to get someone to attend to it immediately, but the kids were asleep so said leave it till tomorrow when we check out. The room wasnt clean. Found things under the desk and around the perimeter. I know its always rush rush rush to turn a hotel room around, but more care needs to be had with the rooms. Pics attached of the dirt/dead bug. So a mixed bag; good food, nice lobby, decent location, and Ive stayed in much worse, but to move it back to that next level, it needs a refurbishment of the rooms as soon as possible. The kids were happy and didnt know any better, and we made some great memories, but my experience is 'its fine' rather than 'definitely stay here'.

17/07/2026: We really enjoyed our stay here! It was close to everything and within walking distance! Rooms were nice, breakfast was delicious!

13/10/2026: We walked over from the LeBoat base in Portumna. Charming, eclectic interior. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was hot and fresh. Most of our group opted for the fish and chips, and this exceeded the standard we'd come to expect in Ireland. Nothing fancy but nothing to complain about either!

09/10/2026: Armando is honestly the best worker at Supermac’s! He’s always really friendly, welcoming and helpful. He provides excellent customer service every time and always has a positive attitude. Definitely deserves recognition for his hard work.

17/07/2026: Namir has the nicest restaurant in Ballybunion. The food and the service is 10/10 such a lovely atmosphere. Ice cream is also delicious !
