26/10/2024: Quería almorzar y llegué solo a la 1: 45 un sábado por la tarde. Como estaba solo, me redireccionaron a la zona de comida para llevar y me aconsejaron que podía sentarme en un taburete. Justo cuando estaba a punto de hacer mi pedido, el servidor me dijo que era solo para llevar. Por lo tanto caminé 3 metros para esperar una mesa. Otro servidor, posiblemente el gerente, me dijo que no había sitio, le pregunté si podía esperar y me invitó a esperar en mi auto por 15-20 minutos y me llamó. Aprecio que estaba ocupado en ese momento, pero no creo que así es como los clientes deben ser tratados. Incluso habría comprado un café si me invitaran a esperar en uno de los taburetes altos de "cliente para llevar".

16/04/2025: This restaurant is a real gem, with delicious, freshly prepared food, a wide ranging menu plus excellent value for money. Not only that, the ambiance is welcoming, the staff super hardworking, helpful and friendly plus the cafe itself has both outdoor and indoor seating( an added bonus on sunny days). I met friends for lunch ( dessert and coffee too) . Everything we ordered was delectable . I cannot praise the quality of the food enough. The quantities given also ensured, we left more than fully satisfied ( our tummies and our purses!). I also noticed the high level of cleanliness throughout the premises. Their attention to detail is quite impressive. My friends and I will be returning to this treasure a.s.a.p. I sincerely look forward to it!

28/05/2024: Loved everything about this place on our final night in Dublin. The early evening menu is decent value and they have vegetarian dishes that are of a very high standard. My wife and I enjoyed all 3 courses and the creme brulee was the perfect end to the evening. If and when we return to Dublin, this works be top of my list of places to return to. Lovely pint of Guinness too.

26/10/2024: Need to say this restaurant is absolutely fabulous and always has been. The normal choices are always available and to an excellent standard but the specials are often to die for. Excellent soups and chowder. The portions of veg and potatoes are generous and to a high standard as is everything. The only place where Cre na Cille has fallen behind is on price. As others increase the cost of eating out to a ridiculous level they have continued to hold prices reasonable and offer great value for money. You will always note the regulars coming back there again and again which points well to the excellence of the establishment. Well done Anne and Paddy

12/02/2025: Beautiful estate and landscape with trails and James Turrell Sky Garden. The chef at the restaurant worked without prior notice to give us exceptional vegan options and also accommodating my food allergies. Wonderful library. We will return.

10/02/2025: We had a very relaxing stay, thanks to the hotel’s limited number of rooms, which made for a peaceful atmosphere. The open fire in the evening was a lovely touch, adding to the cozy ambiance. Our room was modern and well-equipped, complete with a Nespresso coffee machine. However, there was an unpleasant smell in the room, which may have been due to animals being allowed to stay there. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay, which made a big difference. However, dining options were quite limited. The only available choice was the restaurant menu, which doesn’t cater to all needs. For example, after a late lunch one day, we wanted a small bite in the evening but found there was no bar menu—only the full restaurant menu, which is quite expensive for the portion sizes. Given that there are also limited dining options locally in Skibbereen town, it would be helpful if the hotel offered a more flexible bar menu. That said, the hotel’s grounds are beautifully maintained, with lovely walking trails that add to the charm of the location. Overall, it’s a great place to unwind, with excellent service, but a few improvements in dining options and room freshness would make the experience even better.

14/09/2024: Comimos en el bar de marineros dos de nuestras tres noches de estancia en Oakfield be&be por recomendación de Marian y Morty y no decepcionó. La comida era deliciosa. El scampi wqs nuestro favorito. La joven sirviendo nuestra mesa era muy atento y nos habló sobre nuestro día. Estamos deseando volver ya.

30/03/2025: 20 mins wait to be served, grossly inefficient management of queue and coffee orders. Berry scone was absolutely fabulous as was the chocolate brownie. The rest of the food also looked divine. Plenty of staff but when I asked if milk was on the table, the guy said no that they were closing in 20 mins. Could they not clear the tables after closing?

23/12/2024: Has obviously changed with new owners but not for the better. Restaurant size is reduced for the inclusion of a bakers shop. Walls are now bare. The menu and choice has somewhat shrunk. Sorry not changed for the better. Left feeling disappointed that the must have breakfast in Donegal town is no more.
