11/08/2025: I was there Sunday the 10th of August at 8.43am and the gentleman who served me, known as Lee Whelton was a brilliant worker, knows the running of the place and was so very helpful he was a star ⭐️!!

11/01/2026: We had a two night stay at The Rafters Gastropub, we had a family room for 2 adults and our 3 teenage sons. The room was clean. warm, the beds were comfy and the amenities were everything we needed.
We had a fabulous full Irish breakfast each morning, 5 stars!!
The location is excellent, right in the centre of the city. Gerry and the staff were amazing, they couldn’t do enough for us.
The bar is lovely with live music on the Saturday night which we really enjoyed.
We will be back!!! Thank you Gerry and staff.

11/01/2026: Rafters is in prime location In the heart of kilkenny staff very friendly and welcoming gerry the owner couldn't do enough to help u rooms very nice breakfast is very very tasty best value for money stay in kilkenny in my opinion

13/09/2025: If you're looking for good food, good Guinness, and a cosy atmosphere, this is the place! Very generous helpings for the price, and lovely staff. (And if you want to try Drumshanbo Gin this is a great place to enjoy it)

19/12/2024: We had our Christmas party for the 3rd time there! Food was good as always, but the music wasn't as good as previous years, and one of the bartenders had a bit of an attitude at some point! Overall it was a good experience, and we are looking forward to finding out what's coming next year!
P.S.: Ruaidhri was there for us every year for our Christmas parties, making sure that we are having the best experience, so we do hope that we will see him there again in the new wrights adventure!

We waited at the bar for around 20 minutes without being acknowledged. Despite approaching staff several times to ask about getting a table, we continued to be ignored. Unfortunately, we decided to leave.
28/09/2025: The food here was genuinely outstanding... chicken curry with half chips & rice - as good as anywhere Ive eaten. Superb / friendly service also.

02/01/2026: I was here today with my friend and the food was brilliant really tasty the servers were really friendly the problem was the shouting I witnessed from a chef in the kitchen, he simply roared at one of the servers speaking absolutely horrendously to the server, this is simply not ok the poor server said nothing but clearly looked upset, now I have worked in a kitchen before so I understand how tense it can be and easy to snap at people but this was much more then that and ruined our experience there today.
17/12/2025: Brought my son for breakfast. Food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would recommend

13/12/2025: Amazing food 5 of us ate and everyone was more than happy. Steak was so tasty and cooked to perfection the mushroom was unbelievable onky thing I would improve on was the chips. Some way too crunchy but overall delicious. Staff are very friendly was a lovely lunch. Will be back.
