09/09/2026: Lovely café with a beautiful interior and a really nice atmosphere. We had breakfast here and were very happy with both the food and the portions — everything was fresh, tasty and definitely not small! The café itself is beautifully decorated, with a stylish and cosy interior that makes you want to stay a little longer. A great place for a delicious and satisfying breakfast. Would definitely recommend!

30/05/2026: Nice little hotel . Rooms were a good size for the price and the breakfast and menu options were very good . Its not the Ritz and makes no claim to be but if you are looking for a great value hotel that leaves you with more money in your pocket to explore the area you wont go wrong . Also the staff were lovely which is always a bonus !

11/08/2026: I want to give a shout-out to this pottery shop. I stopped there feeling a little lost on my drive around the peninsula. The woman at the counter was so nice to take plenty of her time to tell me how to get to my next stop. The store is beautiful fully stocked with all types of ceramics. If you are looking for wonderful Irish pottery, be sure to check this place out, and take the time to go upstairs, that's where all the best ceramics are.

30/08/2026: Excellent service. Great setting. Great service. Food….poor. All dishes far too salty. Chefs and cooks in the kitchen MUST taste before dishes go out to customers. Very poor for hefty prices. The sauce with the pork chop was terrible. The chefs idea of a rich sauce missed the mark altogether. Several oxo cubs with a few spoon fulls of marmite that completely blew the head off only left you gulping down the water. And a pork chop cut in strips so it was dry by the time it arrived at the table. Come on lads!!! Anyway, the service kept it going and that’s what I was thankful for….at least.

08/06/2026: Have been here many times, but not since the new people took it over. Decided to call in. On entering nothing has changed. So got the same, usual welcoming feeling. A great atmosphere. In the past have seen people watching sports on TV, didn't notice this time, which in one way was a bit easier to talk. Big premises. Very deceiving from the road, much bigger inside. Anyway the food is beautiful still the same great choices. Staff very efficient. Parking on the road. We still haven't managed to stay here yet so will have to sometime in the future, so look forward to that. Good value. Call in you won't be disappointed.

27/06/2026: The service really makes this place! You get greeted and taken to a table which is so lovely. Table service even if you just want drinks. Thank you to the staff for being so welcoming! Also a really good price for a pint in Dublin!

30/05/2026: Had a Jameson mixed drink, think he forgot the whiskey. Zero smell, zero taste but well paid. Went to the club on the opposite site and ordered the same drink. Hypothesis proved. Charming pub though and friendly server. But 10€ for a drink that tastes of nothing but ginger ale is a joke.

20/08/2026: Top notch fish and chips, fresh fish, crispy batter and the chips were excellent. My only gripe - no mushy peas on the menu! But that doesn’t detract, an excellent experience.

06/08/2026: Avoid walking in that door folks. €39 for chipper food for two people — soft drinks not included in that. I didn’t pay for it; but if I had known what my partner was going to be paying for it I would have taken the card out of her hand and walked out. This place has definitely lost the run of itself with greed. €5.00 for a small chips. €6.50 for a portion of onion rings. At €39 for two people without drinks these are restaurant prices, and there are plenty of actual restaurants in the area. There are also other chippers in the area if you actually do want that kind of food for half the price.

21/08/2026: Disgusting experience, has been good for years no idea what happened . Got ice cream a few months ago and i’m not the type to complain or make a scene but this is the final straw with this place after finding multiple hairs in food… outright disgusting. It’s in the cookie from the icecream, small black hair if you look closely. I did not want to cause a scene, or complain but after some while I built up courage and quietly asked for a new one, I got a new one and just as I sat down to eat it I look closely again and I wish I was making this up, a hair again, in the same spot, in the cookie again. I believe that hair just got in the plastic container they keep the cookies in or whatever container and they just covered them in hairs. So disgusting, first time I could deal with it, but the second time I just felt nauseous, in the bin there and then. That was my first trouble with this place… I believed it was just desserts so I told myself I would stay away. Just to add - after we ordered those ice creams my partner went up to get a burger for takeaway, one of the workers speaks in a foreign language to another workers saying essentially “Just scranning over there” regarding us.. but just imagine a worse adjective than scranning but I cannot translate accurately into english. My partner understood and heard, she clearly didn’t expect that and when he stared at her after she said that nasty comment she quickly looked away in embarrassment. Very lucky we didn’t say much that day but it was a horrible experience to say the least. A family member ordered me a burger takeaway from there again maybe 2 months later as I opened it took max 2 bites, sitting in between the meat and bun I found another hair, long and brown/black. Look you might not believe me as obviously the picture is from home but believe me I didn’t want to either, not only my hair is blonde, my hair also wouldn’t get submerged like that into the burger if it was possibly mine…. I pulled it out, took the picture, and I am now leaving this review. Shocking god knows what happened to this place never coming back traumatised me enough. Third time is not the charm.

17/08/2026: Honestly, you can't help some companies. Chicken deep fried like it was revenge! Milkshake is just milk... Not sure why they don't just say chocolate milk, would not be disappointed with chocolate milk, but you called it a milkshake?!?! Chips 3/5! Like how do you make OKAY fries? Who the hell got up one day and said: "I want to be mediocre!" Well, whoever it was, well done you are a great success!!!!

12/09/2026: I went to Ruby’s yesterday and, unfortunately, it was a real disappointment. The service was good as always, but the food was simply unacceptable. I had recommended the restaurant to someone I know because I had spoken so highly of it, and I honestly felt embarrassed afterwards. The piece of meat we were served was an oddly shaped lump, full of tough gristle and extremely difficult to eat. It was simply very disappointing, especially considering the reputation of the restaurant. I really expected much better.

25/12/2025: One of the best pubs in Ireland. Cozy atmosphere and great pints. Never a let down from Kieran. If your in between the two spots in Kinnitty this is definetly the more comfortable option

13/09/2026: We visited the River View Bistro restaurant for lunch today—a very lovely, cozy spot in Athlone. They served delicious food at very reasonable prices, and the waitstaff were polite and friendly. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location, opposite the old castle and right next to one of the oldest pubs. We will definitely be back for dinner soon!

11/09/2026: River View Bistro is a centrally located Italian restaurant just steps from the river and the castle. The atmosphere is pleasant and conversant. The service was quick and attentive. We ordered focaccia, seafood bisque, and stew, all of which were delicious. The bread and butter was delightful. It's a shame it's not closer to home 🥲.

16/09/2026: The sausage and egg cozy McMuffin breakfast is to die for, absolutely gorgeous and the coffee was delicious too. The waiting staff, Sheena and Sinead were lovely, chatty and very friendly. It’s always lovely when the chef, Caireen this time, also lovely, popped outside, I was eating in the dog friendly cozy alley, to see if everything was ok. 10/10, thoroughly recommend 👌👌👌

12/08/2026: As promised when we were leaving (about 20 minutes ago!) we're leaving a good review of our visit to this fabulous little cafe, great variety of dishes on the menu and food and service was amazing. Lovely friendly staff and nice decor and atmosphere with very reasonable prices. Will definitely be back next time we're passing through 😊
