13/07/2026: Came here a couple of weeks ago after hearing some good things from a friend of ours. Absolutely blown away by the food. Very high quality with great flavours, amazing atmosphere and Victor was an amazing host who was able to accommodate any requests. All the food we had impressed us but have to give a specific mention the cauliflower with peanut ragut in coconut soup. I'm a big meat eater and the lamb I had was very good but the cauliflower was a surprise favourite on the night. Murphy's stout was also one of the best I've had and I finished the meal with an amaretto sour which they happily made for me even though it wasn't on the menu. Highly recommend coming here. Will be back.

20/06/2026: Absolutely fantastic! Can’t beat the diversity in the menu and brilliant drinks. I’ve been here for dinner about 10 times and one day 2 for a wedding. Highly recommend if you haven’t been. We’re very lucky to have this near Cork

18/08/2026: Got a chicken salad box and a coronation chicken sandwich for lunch €26:45. The salad box was basically lettuce leaves and some chicken. Pretty tasteless and didn’t taste of anything good at all. The chicken sandwich was awful. It fell apart and had the barest minimum of ingredients. Definitely won’t be going back again.

06/10/2026: Lovely place, just shame about the cheesy pop music they think that everyone wants to listen to. Spoils the atmosphere here. How about just some quiet or calmer sounds to enjoy dinner?

04/10/2026: Only 4.2 stars? Honestly, I’m surprised! The portions are absolutely huge, everything was really tasty, and the prices were so reasonable. Definitely highly recommend this place! ❤️

27/10/2026: Good location and friendly service, but – unusually for a place like this – they’d run out of draught beer and only had bottled German and other European beers.

27/10/2026: Ok..good view and atmosphere. However, that's about it. Really pricey for the quality of the food. Specially, stay away from the nachos!!! I've had better at the street stands!...although, my wife had the chops and she liked them...however, something very particular with the hummus appetizer....they give you a good size of hummus but only 4 pieces of bread. It seems like the startegy is for you to order more bread halfway through it, and guess what? and additional 3 Euros for 6 more pieces....is a racket!... Bottom line...I had 2 dishes, 1 appetizer and 2 drinks....96 Euros..wouldn't mind paying for it if it meant a better experience!!

13/10/2026: The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. My son who is a autistic individual was able to enjoy a calm table and enjoy his meal. Definitely family friendly

21/09/2026: We stayed in Graiguenamanagh over the weekend and ate here twice. Food was top class both days. Portions were generous, food eas well presented anf prices were in line with current climate. Staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming, especially Vera who went out of her way both days to ensure we were well looked after. We would recommend The Duiske Inn and will definitely return in the future.

30/08/2026: My friend had a voucher that would cover a good portion of the meal we had here, and she was told upon seating that it would be valid. The food left much to be desired and the service itself was fine, albeit it took our waiter several minutes to open a bottle of wine we had ordered – but we didn't particularly mind. The cocktails we ordered left much to be desired, I have had far better elsewhere. Upon closing out the bill, my friend once again mentioned the voucher and the wait staff told us that they would make mention of it to the manager on duty. The manager came over to us, hunched himself over our table, and very plainly told us that they had stopped taking those vouchers and they were no longer valid. I have worked in hospitality for ten years and, whenever faced with a similar situation, I would have been the utmost apologetic and understanding to the customer's well-founded confusion and plight. This manager was the opposite of everything I have ever been taught to be in within this industry. He was flippant, unsympathetic, argumentative and made all of us feel very uncomfortable. The hospitality industry requires you to be hospitable, and he was nothing of the sort. Please make all your staff aware of your stance on vouchers as well, so that we are not being immediately given false information. We won't be back. Cheers.

18/07/2026: Excellent service and wonderful staff. I attended a wedding reception there as a guest and would highly recommend House. Having previously worked as a wedding photographer, I've tasted a lot of wedding fare and this was truly excellent. The staff were particularly kind with my autistic son. Would highly recommend.

28/08/2026: What a delightful experience, ambience, the staff being helpful to the quality of the food was superb. Good value for the money and very authentic catering for both the Irish palate and also the Indian.

15/08/2026: Purchased a vegetarian paneer main meal last night. Within a short time period I suffered all the classic sudden food poisoning symptoms. It’s now almost 1.30 pm the next day and I’m still in recovery after a very long night. Never again.

06/04/2026: Had a fantastic stay - the place is all about relaxation. Room had a wonderful view over the lake. Food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough.

29/03/2026: We had the most incredible two-night stay at Carrig Country House and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the setting completely won us over — right on the lake with breathtaking views that make it so easy to unwind and switch off. The house itself is full of charm and character, with a warm, cosy atmosphere that feels truly special. Being invited for coffee and homemade cake with biscuits after checking in is a great touch. We were lucky enough to stay in the Presidential Suite, which made the experience even more memorable. The space, comfort, and stunning views were exceptional — it felt like a real treat and the perfect place to relax. What really sets Carrig apart, though, is the hospitality. The team are genuinely welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful, creating a stay that feels personal and effortless. The dining experience was a real highlight. Being welcomed into a cosy sitting room to relax and discuss the menu before being called through to dinner is such a charming, old-world touch — it made each evening feel special. The food itself was outstanding from start to finish, with top-quality ingredients and beautifully presented dishes. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with incredible food, beautiful surroundings, and truly warm hospitality, this place is a gem. Thank you to Claire, Kevin and the team for everything. We’ll definitely be back.

23/08/2026: I went in there last month on a Sunday had a coke and my friend had a pint we had the one out in the garden very enjoyable with the weather no problems whatsoever ! We left after we had the first coke and pint !Completely different attitude today I walked in we ordered again a coke and pint and we were refused service couldn't give a proper reason as to why ! Mistakenly identity at its finest , so embarrassing and im ashamed of my living life ! We will not be letting this go , been accused of something that i didnt do that they couldn't give me a reason as to why we were been refused !

14/10/2026: Visited McMahon's yesterday, my second time only, but it will surely become a favourite. My friend had turkey and ham, I had seabass with baby potatoes (omg!), peas, al dente broccoli (yummy), and some spinach. The seabass was cooked just right. Big shout out to the kitchen staff! All the food was delicious. We just had tea and coffee afterwards. Staff are lovely. We love the atmosphere of the lounge. Cosy and comfy.

30/09/2026: The pub itself is great, which makes it all the more disappointing that the Tuesday night quiz is run in such an unpleasant and confrontational way. I was driving, so I was drinking cordial, while other members of my team were buying and drinking alcohol. Keith came over to our table, pointed at my glass and immediately demanded, “What is that? What is in that?” When I explained that it was cordial because I was driving, he responded, “I’m not wasting 2hrs of my life for you to drink water,” followed by, “Listen here, sunshine. You don’t come into someone else’s house and not buy a drink,” before taking points off our team. I found the whole interaction unnecessarily rude and condescending. I was drinking cordial because I was driving, and other members of the team were buying alcohol anyway. Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated incident. On another night, Keith wanted us to move closer to him so he could “see us”. We explained that we would rather stay where we were because the speakers near him were extremely loud. His response was, “Okay, that’s the excuse,” before walking away. There seems to be a pattern where very minor things become confrontational if you don’t immediately do what he wants. It creates an uncomfortable atmosphere around what is supposed to be a few drinks, some questions and a laugh with your mates. It often feels as though the room is being policed rather than a quiz being hosted. I’m local and I’ve been going to McMahons since I was little. The pub itself is genuinely great, the staff are nice and the pints are good. Unfortunately, the atmosphere around the Tuesday quiz has put me off the place completely. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

09/05/2026: I was in there for dinner and it was really disappointing. Chips were raw. Dishes weren't described as they came. There was a bone in the chicken dish and everything had no flavour and lacked salt. Very disappointing wont be coming again

23/08/2026: I’m not happy with the food it was cold and I got chicken breast sandwich meal and my burger was made with 2 bottoms of bread and there was no sauce in it either it was disgusting I did not like it

09/10/2026: The pub itself is good, and the decor is quite appealing. However, the food was a bit disappointing. Perhaps that was simply because we arrived just before the kitchen closed. The burger was possibly overcooked and had a very thick crust. It also lacked a certain flavor for me. Just form your own opinion; everyone has different tastes. The pub's overall impression is one of a very charming atmosphere and good service.
