25/01/2025: A nice place to relax for conversation. I had a combo cup of soup of the day and toasti. Steve had the special of the day.

02/02/2025: We were here with family today, food was great, we got the curry, fish and chips, the Lasagne, chicken wings and sausages and mash, everyone was happy with what they had ordered, staff were very accommodating and provided a good service and all was very reasonable priced, I’d definitely recommend a stop there for good pub grub

14/01/2025: Had dinner after a Munster rugby game. It was cozy. We had a choice of seating. Menu was concise but had a few dishes for me to choose from

13/11/2024: The (probably) restaurant manager brought us the food, put it ON my cutlery without apology or comment and sat at the next table next to a guest with whom she spoke very loudly and animatedly (probably in Polish), which really bothered us. After about 20 minutes, she got up without paying any attention to us and went with the guest into the "Staff Only" area. None of the 3 other bored waiters (with a maximum of 10 guests) showed any interest in us or served us or cleared away the dishes in the next 60 minutes.

04/04/2025: Now here is a pub full of the Irish Craic. Fantastic bar staff full of laughing and joking. You are definitely made to feel welcome. The food well bring your appetite as it’s good wholesome and plentiful. So if you’re in near or just passing by make time for this place you will not be disappointed.

17/03/2025: We booked a table at the bar area for an evening meal on a Sunday. The interior was beautiful, with a crackling fire and the dtaff were friendly and helping. We were disappointed that our first choices for food were no longer available so we think we missed out on the food front but perhaps understandable given it was sunday evening. We also ordered 2 cocktails (mojito and french martini) that were not really up to any minimum standards. I really think the manager should look into that! Overall mixed experience unfortunately

03/03/2025: Bitterly disappointed at the quality of Sunday lunch. Lack of vegetables included and dinner was warm at best. Vast difference in the standard of previous visits.

19/03/2025: Food was terrible. Ordered 2 half roast chickens. Tiny portions and the chicken was dry with black bones. Half a potato cut into cubes. The coleslaw on my wives plate was gone off which can be extrememy dangerous. Very disapointed.

05/12/2024: Very disappointed with the way a member of staff treated me. Very rude to me for absolutely no reason. I’d have no interest in going out of my way to be rude to a stranger.

09/11/2024: Really great spot with very attentive staff. Apologies again for knocking that table of cocktails. As I said at the time to you guys and Garda McGrath, the DJ has to take some responsibility for my dance moves when his tunes are so banging.

22/03/2025: Recently brought my family (12) to celebrate a birthday. We waited 55 minutes for our meal. No one approached us while waiting to say there was a delay. When I asked about the delay, we were told it was because we didn't order starters - starters take priority and the waiter told me it wasn't up to him it was up to the chef, again no apology. I emailed the owner, no reply. Will not be returning or recommending. This is not just 1 bad review - it is 12.

22/02/2025: Good restaurant with good food however the food dishes are getting smaller. See photos same chicken salad a year ago and now. No walnuts or mango this time even though they are on the menu.

05/03/2025: I have visited this place recently together with my family. It was really good service and perfect environment there. All meals were very delicious and with affordable prices.

03/03/2025: My wife and I stayed overnight in the Tannery Townhouse and had dinner in the Restaurant. It was our second time at the restaurant but our first staying overnight in the townhouse. The staff were so welcoming, our room had recently been refurbished and was so comfortable, warm and beautifully decorated. Dinner was exceptional. My wife loves seafood and chose the seafood mixed grill as her main and she said it was the best seafood dish she has ever tasted. We will be back as soon as we can and hopefully stay for a few more days next time.

07/03/2025: Lovely traditional Irish pub in Carlingford ,great atmosphere and live music Eoghan Murphy was outstanding!!! Great pint of Guinness and outside beer garden small but lovely . Well worth a visit

02/03/2025: Staff are great. Food is very nice. Good options for kids too. Small kids get free ice cream which is lovely touch but it's completely undone by the unnecessary and greedy charge of €3.25 for a jug of blackcurrant cordial for kids.

22/02/2025: Gorgeous pub/restaurant with loads of parking spaces. We had food in the lounge. Arrived around 3pm, and it was very quiet. Good variety on the menu, really tasty food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

24/03/2025: We happened upon Griffin's Bar as we began to walk downtown Clifden. We had looked across the street but there were two fellows outside and my friend ask, "How's the food?" "EXCELLENT, if you have money!" was the reply.it made us laugh so we went in. The special soup of the day was butternut squash with bacon. We each ordered that and decided to split the goat cheese salad. The soup arrived with excellent brown bread and the first bite told us we'd picked a winner. The soup had just the right consistency, smokiness and hints of pepper. We ate it slowly as you did not want it to end. Just when you thought it couldn't get better, the salad arrived. A lovely round of soft goat cheese with delicate greens, tomatoes, small peppers and the perfect amount of balsamic glaze. In addition, there were small servings of coleslaw and potato salad. The flavors were the perfect compliment to each other. The staff were attentive, informative and great fun. We have had a lot of good food in the last eight days, but this is the winner so far.

26/01/2025: We had a lovely visit, our first and we will definitely be back. We enjoyed watching the rugby match with drinks and a lovely surprise the owner brought us out sandwiches (which you never see anymore!!!) Fab warm fire and nice locals.. Looking forward to our next visit 👌
