29/10/2025: Friendly professional and very comfortable. It was like a home from home.

23/08/2025: Got a great friendly welcome from the two people on duty, Freya and Enda. Shown to my room, tastefully laid out and really felt homely. I'm extremely fussy about my bed and it was so comfortable. Good shower and tea/ coffee making facilities and a stylish breakfast area. Handy parking, seating area to the front and overall I'm delighted.

23/09/2025: This place serves the absolute best seafood chowder I've ever had. The young waiter was very friendly and did a great job.

21/09/2025: Best meal of my life. Murphy's beer, lamb rack, and white chocolate cheesecake. All excellent! Service was very friendly!

23/08/2025: We were there last Friday. Waitress was not customer friendly 2/10 I got tea with sour milk , a colleague got the smallest portion of risotto you could serve Rip off and terrible services. Unlikely to go back and we were regular.

02/12/2025: We called in on passing for food, it's a cosy wee bar, fire lit, upstairs restaurant was surprising, food was tasty and friendly staff, would go back.

04/11/2025: Bit quiet through the week but gpod value on mesures of spirits works out about £1.10 for a vodka and coke and a decent volume of vodka

27/09/2025: The prices have gone up and the water is not cold anymore. The music is too loud and the food quality is going down. Too bad they have not kept the standards up after the change of ownership. We used to go every week. Now, after a few unpleasant experiences, maybe we will try it every couple of months to see if it's coming back up.

17/12/2025: We couldn’t find a table at other good restaurants as it was a very busy night in August and, unfortunately, ended up here. I ordered the dry-aged rib eye steak and it was terrible! I told them medium and it came rare. They didn’t care that much when I told them, put it back on the grill for a few minutes and came back still on the rare side. The meat itself was tasteless and felt like a poor quality steak. My wife got a burger and it was mediocre at best. 100 euros spent on a bad meal! Spend your money elsewhere and make reservations for dinner in high season.

03/09/2025: We had our wedding recently on Friday 29th August 2025 at The Upton Court Hotel. Thank you so much for helping John and I have the most magical wedding day. We are so grateful for your professionalism and the warm, friendly atmosphere you created for our guests and us. Shane and Beverley, you both were incredible during the planning process right up to the big day itself. You both were always so professional, quick to reply and friendly. Both Shane and Beverley went above and beyond for us to ensure we had the best day. Shane checked we were ok and that everything was the way we wanted on the day numerous times too, which was really appreciated! The staff at the hotel were lovely and ensured everyone was looked after. The food was absolutely amazing!! There was also no problem at all in facilitating those with dietary requirements. The teamwork of the hotel made everything feel effortless for us, allowing us to enjoy every second! There was plenty of space for our cake, selfie mirror, band and dancing!! The bridal room was beautiful and spacious with a double jacuzzi bath. The amount of compliments we received about the hotel, food and staff have been unbelievable! We also got some beautiful photos at Wells House which is only a short drive from the hotel. The house and grounds are stunning and make the most amazing backdrop for photos! 28/12/2025: We had on dinner here this evening and the food was excellent, staff were so good and friendly and the manager couldn't do enough for us, couldn't say one negative thing about it and look forward to our next visit⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

02/10/2025: A place where paintings and ceramics are exhibited. Very interesting. In addition to having an excellent restaurant, you can visit the artists' stalls.

08/11/2025: This is a lovely cafe for brunch. The menu is nice and the cafe does have gluten free bread so if you're a coeliac or just gluten intolerant they will have options for you. The service was good and the server was knowledgeable when I asked about gluten free options. Some cushions for the back of the long bench seats inside would be a great idea as they are very uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time, but otherwise a very nice place to have coffee or brunch etc.

06/11/2025: Haven't been here for a while. Not quite the place I remembered. Less artisan and more pedestrian. The coffee was watery and weak. The pastries looked like they had been picked up in the local petrol station. There was nothing unique about the visit that would encourage me back. Pity because I love the concept of a little gem of an eatery nestled into a beautiful urban setting. Not the case here.
