20/07/2025: Hi, Sitting here writing this review, we ordered breakfast. Arrived cold, they reheated the plate. Beans were burnt and pale, poached eggs were too runny, not cooked correctly to eat. This is the first review I've done, normally we let it slide if we get bad food. But this was so bad. The Service was great, waitress so apologetic, not her fault.

19/07/2025: we’ve gone here before and really loved the food. We haven’t been in about 6 months and the entire menu has changed and is way smaller now. The food is expensive for what you get, they forgot one of our sandwiches and it was rushed out to the table. The cheese wasn’t melted on any of the food, we ordered garlic cheese chips and most of the cheese was at the bottom with very little sauce. My partner found something hard in their beef toastie which seemed to be a part of a bone. Staff were very good despite everything. Food was disappointing for the price that you pay and it’s a massive downgrade from what it was.

06/07/2025: It used to be one of our favourite places until now. Last week we went for lunch. It was around 12.30 and they always made the lovely pad thai noodles, which is my favourite (what I got the previous week) but this time, for whatever reason, they could not make it. Today we decided to give them a ring before going, asking if it was possible to get the pad thai. The waitress asked if it was for take away or for eating in. As we said it was for eating in the reply was "if it's for take away MAYBE, for eating in we don't do it on sundays"...what utter non sense! If you consider they close at 6pm you have literally 2 hours to get there and get your choice off the menu, unless they decide something is not available on that day. Goodbye Thai Irish, you used to rock, not anymore

08/08/2025: While on our honeymoon in Ireland, Ireland by Bike suggested we dine at Yellow Pepper. So glad we did, the atmosphere is so cozy, the food was amazing. We had the opportunity to meet the owner Kieran who is a gem! Chris and Kerrilee

05/08/2025: Visited Letteykenny in Ireland for a short break, had seen reviews. Definitely have to book so popular. Lovely options to choose from. Decided to go straight to the main, I had the lamb shank special of the day, The lamb just fell off the bone, buttery mash with good selection of vegetables, some as purée,and a tasteful jus to bring it all together. My husband had the cod with fish pie, a beautiful chunky piece, definitely a hot pie with creamy mash. Both our plates were completely cleaned. I had the meringue with fresh fruit and compote, meringue crispy and chewy just the way it should be. A lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff were very attentive and polite. Very good value as well. Would definitely recommend The Yellow.Pepper

07/10/2025: The staff are always friendly and accommodating to us when we come for dinner. I put 4 stars down instead of 5 for the food as today we learned that our favourite dessert “the roasted banana copacabana” has left the menu. I hope it makes its return very soon!!

05/10/2025: Paid almost 20eur for benedict eggs, and food taste was very poor, dish was extremely simple, very disappointed with the experience. Staff was friendly and place was clean, these were the only positive things. Felt the price is too high for what you get for... Unfortunately, I don't recommend this place and its food

28/06/2025: A great dining experience. Fast, friendly service from the staff. It was quite busy in the restaurant but food arrived quite promptly. A very enjoyable meal. We’ll be visiting again in the future

09/06/2025: 7 of us went for dinner here after our barge trip - #bargetrip.ie Service was excellent and the food was first class. Our group would particularly recommend the roast beef and the chicken supreme but there was a good choice on the menu, something to suit everyone.

19/09/2025: Put in my order of soup and brown bread, a toasted sandwich and a side order of chips. My glass of water and cutlery arrived on a side plate which were dropped at the far side of my table, unusual I thought. A few minutes late the waitress arrived back and stretched across in front of me to place a soup spoon on my sideplate. She was holding the spoon by the bowl. More unusual I thought. My food arrived all together. This is getting ridiculous! Who serves two courses at the same time? The soup and brown bread were delicious. However, by the time I got around to eating my main course the chips were cold. The sandwich was horribly greasy. The side salad was chopped into tiny silly little pieces making it impossible for me to disgard the cucumber which I can’t abide. If I ever go back there I will only have the soup. Hopefully, in the meantime, they will train their staff.

23/08/2025: Went for breakfast. Food and service were so good that I returned for lunch the next day.

22/08/2025: Tables were sticky. Place felt dirty and old fashioned. Hardware supplies hanging up on one wall and stuff everywhere. Pulled pork was dry as a bone. Coleslaw was "substituted " with 1.5 baby potatoes rubbed around in some mayo and called "potato salad". Lamb dinner dry . Curry served in a bowl I haven't seen served that way since the 90s. Staff not very personable, but to be fair very young. Overall felt fairly cheated out of my money.

05/08/2025: Lovely spot, does nice takeaway. Could do with better signage for the menu when getting a takeaway as very hard to see the options.

12/10/2025: When we rang to enquire for a table on a Sunday evening for four people, we were advised to book, that led us to believe that the place was packed, Well we were very disappointed! There was food left beside our table while three workers were walking around and just looking at it, when it was being cleaned she just swept the crumbs onto the floor beside us. 3/4 got the steak sandwich and it came already sliced and there was about 5 strips and not a steak knife which would be nice. The Cajun chicken burger I wouldn’t recommend I’m aware it’s in the name but a bit less spices would be best to be enjoyable. And as for the chips they we’re supermarket standard (birdseye dippers) And the jug of dialuted orange to be charged €3.25 is disgraceful and when asked for wine the waitress just walked off we had to shout her back to tell her the type of wine we would like but did not arrive at the table. So will not be returning ever and after looking at other reviews I don’t think I’m alone on this.

23/08/2025: We were there last Friday. Waitress was not customer friendly 2/10 I got tea with sour milk , a colleague got the smallest portion of risotto you could serve Rip off and terrible services. Unlikely to go back and we were regular.

03/11/2025: Food was was delicious and the portions were huge. Great value. The staff were very friendly and the service couldn’t be faulted. Yes the place could do with a lick of paint but overall definitely will be back
