24/04/2026: Perfect place to meet friends or family before atrain journey. Full Irish breakfast was very nice, you can request what you want. Full lunch menu also avaliable. Full bar service available

07/04/2026: Great stay overall! The hotel and room were clean and comfortable, and the location is excellent. The front desk staff were very helpful and welcoming, and the breakfast was really good with plenty of options. The only downside was the evening restaurant service, which could definitely be improved.

02/02/2026: We had our wedding reception at the Upton Court Hotel 21/01/2026, and from start to finish the experience was absolutely amazing. Shane and all of the staff were incredible, so professional, kind, and attentive throughout the entire process. All dietary requirements were catered for without any fuss, and the food was outstanding, with many compliments from our guests. The guest rooms were nice and very comfortable, again receiving lots of positive feedback. From the moment of arrival, there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel that put everyone at ease. A very special thank you to Shane for all of his support, guidance, and attention to detail, nothing was ever too much trouble, and it truly made our day stress-free and unforgettable. We couldn’t recommend Upton Court Hotel highly enough. Joseph & Anastasia

14/02/2026: We had an amazing dinner on Valentine’s Day. The restaurant was beautifully prepared and decorated for the occasion, creating a lovely and romantic atmosphere. The service was excellent — attentive and professional — and the food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming place in Athlone town centre. We’ll definitely be back!

05/01/2026: The worst place ever to eat , the food was not hot and well cook and the staff is not friendly as well , we ordered delivery food is very cold and chips and soft drinks is missing and i call them the owner has no manners and tell us dont ever order or come to our restaurant , the worst ever restaurant we had the food

03/04/2026: It's in credibly annoying receiving junk mail from Giulio's Fish & Chip shop in the letter box, when there is a large sign on the door (No Junk Mail) respect residents choices, this is no the first time either.

23/04/2026: Room is great but you can hear the water from other rooms Additionally there was no flexibility about the cancellation even though the government did cancel the ceremony late. Customer service was not pleasant and not responsive

19/04/2026: Disappointing experience. Due to fuel protests and road closures, travel to Killarney became impractical, and my citizenship ceremony was cancelled. Despite explaining this in advance, the hotel offered no flexibility and declined any refund, stating they could not resell the room. What stood out was the lack of understanding in a situation clearly outside a guest’s control, especially when other hotels in Killarney handled similar cases more reasonably. Policies are expected, but so is basic fairness. Unfortunately, that was missing here.

11/04/2026: Room were nice and cosy,hot water took some time to come, Rooms have no sound proofing, breakfast was sad and really uneatable, nobody ever answered phone at reception, Reception staff can be over worked, tried / grumpy.

27/03/2026: We had food here.It was very nice.The house Chardonnay was poor and the man who seemed to be in charge was really smarmy so much so I jokingly asked him was he a Kerry man looking for business.But as I said I enjoyed the food….we didnt go back today.Returned to Lahinch a couple of months ago.The food here was top class.Big plates of perfectly cooked food.Exactly what you need after long walks.We will be back soon and will eat here everyday

20/04/2026: Awful experience. We both ordered fish & chips (we had it here previously and it was nice) and this time were we surprised. The fish was 100% frozen it was easy to tell as both plates of fish were identical the batter held the exact same shape which wouldn’t be the case if it was freshly battered and the piece of fish itself was tiny exactly how you get in the frozen section in a supermarket. The chips were horrific, cheap and also frozen. You would think being right beside salt hill fish & chips should at least be a dish that they served well. €20 per meal for something that came straight from the freezer in their kitchen 🤮

07/03/2026: My two friends and I went to Ryan's Pub last night to buy drinks, but when we reached the counter, the guy behind the bar refused to serve us because my friends were not wearing jeans, even though I was the only one wearing jeans. I then tried to buy drinks for all of us by myself, but he still refused to serve us. We also saw people wearing work clothes who had clearly come straight from their jobs without wearing jeans being served without any issue while we were refused. We have been to this pub a few times before without wearing jeans and never had any issues, yet suddenly there was a so-called new rule about what clothing people can wear. Ryan’s Pub is absolutely ridiculous. Why do they care about what clothes people wear? It shouldn't matter as long as we're paying them their weekly wages. It’s a pub, not a nightclub, and this so-called new rule completely ruined our experience, so we would not recommend anyone go there, and we will never be going back again.

12/04/2026: I called in by accident and I was amazed by Paddy’s bar … small bar with amazing great Pint of Guinness… short draw = great pints. I decided to visit the main bar wow amazing place and wonderful staff and service. I didn’t have any food but what I did see looked very nice indeed…I will definitely call again to sample the menu.

28/11/2025: Has obviously changed with new owners but not for the better. Restaurant size is reduced for the inclusion of a bakers shop. Walls are now bare. The menu and choice has somewhat shrunk. Sorry not changed for the better. Left feeling disappointed that the must have breakfast in Donegal town is no more. NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

09/10/2025: Great food and atmosphere at Dock 84! 🍴☕️ We stopped into Dock 84 while in Donegal Town and had a really enjoyable experience. The place has a relaxed, modern vibe with plenty of space to sit back and enjoy a meal. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome right away. 😊 I ordered the grilled chicken burger 🍔🐔 and it was excellent — the chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked, with fresh toppings and a soft bun that held everything together nicely. It was filling without being too heavy, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. My wife went for the waffle with a spread of Nutella 🧇🍫 and it was a real treat. The waffle was light and fluffy with just the right crisp on the outside, and the Nutella made it indulgent without being over the top. A perfect sweet option to balance out my savory choice. The second time we went we had egg shakshuka and Tikka wrap which was good again as usual One of the highlights here is that Dock 84 has its own bakery products 🥐🍞, and they are absolute delights — fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care. It’s a lovely bonus alongside the main menu. Do note that there’s usually a wait time of around 15 minutes ⏳ throughout the day, but honestly, the food and atmosphere make it worth it. For convenience, there’s a car park directly in front of the café 🚗, though it is a paid one 💳, so keep that in mind if you’re driving in. Service was quick once seated, prices were fair 💶, and the location is ideal if you’re exploring Donegal Town 🏞️. Whether you’re after a hearty bite or something sweet, Dock 84 is a spot worth visiting. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town! 🙌

01/08/2025: Assolutamente da provare. Si trova nel pieno di Temple Bar ma, a differenza di altri locali, qui non c'è il frastuono della musica live. Cibi squisiti e personale simpatico e molto veloce. Noi abbiamo provato la beef stuve, super buona. Se andate nelle serate di grande afflusso dovete avere pazienza, c'è da fare un pò di fila, ma ne vale assolutamente la pena.

30/07/2025: Nachdem wir 30 Min. auf der Strasse auf unseren reservierten Tisch gewartet haben, war das Erlebte dann wirklich nicht sehr gemütlich. Chaotische Zustände im Restaurant. Bierfässer werden im Gastraum und den Toiletten gelagert. Der Burger war trocken, unterstes Level. Ambiente, ist nicht vorhanden eingepfercht wie Tiere. Das Ganze ist einfach eine gut organisierte Abzocke.
