12/07/2026: Staff are a disgrace. Bad pints and worse service. My wife is actually related to the family. The staff including the female manager. Couldn't give to hoots for customer service. Staff laughing at myself and my wife, behind the managers back. Shocking behavior.

25/01/2026: Amazing food, flawless service, beautiful restaurant. Left feeling perfectly looked after, pleasantly full and purely content. Had the scallop, venison special and apple tarte tatin. My husband had the special creme brûlée which he adored. Special shout to Niamh who was such a wonderful person and provided us with amazing service. Will 100% be back! Absolutely gem of a restaurant

12/04/2026: We didn’t stay at the hotel, only dined in the restaurant. Overall, the food was quite good—typical of Irish restaurants. The steak was excellent and the staff were very friendly. There was a mistake with our order, though, and the pizza arrived much later. They apologized a lot for it, which we appreciated, and remained very kind throughout. The wine wasn’t great and was quite expensive, but the steak was fantastic.

10/06/2026: My go to for quick and simple meal in Kanturk, every time I am back I go at least once, they have been consistent for years and never fail. My first time back with my son and he was very happy with the choice and the lovely waiter who made him feel welcome.

During my recent visit, I found the guard’s behaviour towards me to be unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. Although the entrance was sufficiently wide, he positioned himself in a way that blocked my path and appeared to prevent me from entering freely. I was dressed appropriately in semi-formal office attire, and I do not understand why I was treated in this manner. The incident made me feel uncomfortable and singled out. I am also concerned that I may have been treated differently because of my Asian background. While I cannot be certain of the guard’s intentions, his conduct left me feeling that I was being treated unfairly. I would appreciate it if management could look into this matter and ensure that all visitors are treated with courtesy, respect, and professionalism, regardless of their background or appearance. The guard is not of irish descent.
