20/05/2025: You know when you're in Ireland when the pub is next door to the police station and the police station next door to the church, there's a reason for that.

27/07/2025: Appalling experience where I found a screw in my sandwich, hurt my tooth on it. Could potentially have been very dangerous if swallowed. The staff barely apologised. We were left waiting for someone to come back to talk to us, and eventually we left. We have three young kids and I shudder to think what would have happened if one of them had accidentally swallowed that screw. The fact no one apologised or even seemed to care tells you all you need to know about the standard of hygiene of the kitchen.

27/07/2025: Avoid at all costs. We stopped in for lunch and my wife found a steel sharp bolt in her panini after biting into it, hurting her tooth but thankfully not seriously. When waitress was alerted she grabbed all evidence before we could get pics and asked us to wait. We waited for 10 mins before I decided to approach the guy seemingly in charge, I asked him for an explanation and he smirked and shrugged, no apology, nothing. Do yourself a favour, if on a road trip through Cork and you find this place lands half way between stops, keep going!

03/09/2025: Perfect spot to avoid the tourist traps and get a truly decent cup of coffee, decent breakfast food and delicious pastry. Warm and welcoming service - thoroughly recommend this little retreat of a cafe!

19/08/2025: I happened across this café on a hungry morning exiting the shopping mall. The tables outside were full, so I sat indoors. Food was DE LISH OUS. I had a warm cajun chicken wrap with side salad, a custard tart, a coffee, and a glass of water. Total cost €13.70. Staff were busy but very helpful and attentive. There was a nice buzz and mainly older, local clientèle. The walls were decorated with an interesting assortment of paintings by presumably local artists. Highly recommend, would visit again.

01/08/2025: We went CJ Lennox in Midleton. I am a coeliac and as they had Gluten Free options on website i called in. They had a seperate fryer for chips. I had a gluten free pizza and chips it was hands down the best one i have had since my diagnosis. My children had burgers, chips and chicken gougons. Portions were big and the food was lovely.

13/07/2025: Esta fue nuestra primera experiencia cenando en The Horseshoe después de muchos años de simplemente "tomar bebidas" en este popular pub de Kenmare. En busca de mejillones con salsa picante los encontramos en Horseshoe. Una salsa de chile y chorizo que estaba perfecta. Los mejillones estaban cocinados en su punto justo, de modo que todos menos uno se abrieron, pero permanecieron regordetes y sabrosos en la salsa picante que estaba distribuida uniformemente sobre ellos. He probado porciones más grandes de mejillones en otros pubs, pero rara vez una salsa picante con mucho cuerpo que te pidiera que comieras la salsa que quedaba como sopa después de haber comido todos los mariscos. Nuestro mayor cumplido siempre es: "Volveremos".

10/06/2025: Gran lugar. Parece un restaurante una vez que estás en la puerta, no dejes que esto te desanime. Muy agradable. Gran stout. Muy agradable, personal amable. Comí unas pintas antes y luego volví para la cena, que estaba delicioso.

24/08/2025: We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the pub was so quiet and peaceful. The conservatory is the best place to sit and it’s smoking free.

07/09/2025: Excellent - I mean the food, service and everything else! We went for dinner yesterday evening and reserved the bay window with a beautiful view of the lake. Food was delicious - I had the chefs catch of the day which was cod (so fresh!) with garlic potatoes and vegetables. There was a delicious sauce included on the side. 10/10. My partner had the ceasar salad as a main and again this was delicious. It came with a portion of chips which were a generous portion but also extremely tasty with a nice seasoning. Brown bread included with the salad and it was possibly the nicest brown bread I've had in a long time! 5* all round and we will be returning to try out the highly recommended steaks and ice-cream.

03/08/2025: My dad and I ate here back in April. The service was fast and the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken goujons with chips and a side of curry sauce. The portions are big. The restaurant is very cozy and enjoyable. We would definitely eat here again. Highly recommend!

16/08/2025: "I’m 57 years old, and I think this is the worst service I’ve ever had in my life. They brought my son a burger and fries with a sauce on the side. While we were already eating, the waiter came over, put his hands in my son’s plate, and took back the sauce because it was meant for another customer’s dish."

06/08/2025: Pulled pork sandwich €11. I received two and a half pieces of sick pork drowned in a pseudo "homemade barbecue sauce" which was nothing of the sort. A colesaw salad bathed in an ocean of mayonnaise. I left hungrier than when I arrived. We also had a homemade soup whose bowl was half full. The reason for my second star is that at the end of the meal the chef came to ask us if everything went well and hearing what I wrote reserved a new sandwich for us in the same condition

08/08/2025: While on our honeymoon in Ireland, Ireland by Bike suggested we dine at Yellow Pepper. So glad we did, the atmosphere is so cozy, the food was amazing. We had the opportunity to meet the owner Kieran who is a gem! Chris and Kerrilee

05/08/2025: Visited Letteykenny in Ireland for a short break, had seen reviews. Definitely have to book so popular. Lovely options to choose from. Decided to go straight to the main, I had the lamb shank special of the day, The lamb just fell off the bone, buttery mash with good selection of vegetables, some as purée,and a tasteful jus to bring it all together. My husband had the cod with fish pie, a beautiful chunky piece, definitely a hot pie with creamy mash. Both our plates were completely cleaned. I had the meringue with fresh fruit and compote, meringue crispy and chewy just the way it should be. A lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff were very attentive and polite. Very good value as well. Would definitely recommend The Yellow.Pepper

20/07/2025: Hi, Sitting here writing this review, we ordered breakfast. Arrived cold, they reheated the plate. Beans were burnt and pale, poached eggs were too runny, not cooked correctly to eat. This is the first review I've done, normally we let it slide if we get bad food. But this was so bad. The Service was great, waitress so apologetic, not her fault.

19/07/2025: we’ve gone here before and really loved the food. We haven’t been in about 6 months and the entire menu has changed and is way smaller now. The food is expensive for what you get, they forgot one of our sandwiches and it was rushed out to the table. The cheese wasn’t melted on any of the food, we ordered garlic cheese chips and most of the cheese was at the bottom with very little sauce. My partner found something hard in their beef toastie which seemed to be a part of a bone. Staff were very good despite everything. Food was disappointing for the price that you pay and it’s a massive downgrade from what it was.

26/06/2025: We booked in last night. Lovely apartment. Plenty of room. Clean. I got up this morning to discover we had coffee, milk, bread , ham and cheese to start our day. Working in the hotel business in florida I appreciate all the unseen hard work that nanny quinns are doing everyday. I highly recommend a stay here.

20/06/2025: Probably the worst fish and chips ever for €19.95. 2 tiny pieces of fish in huge chunks of batter. Sent the first one back as it looked as if they forgot to put fish in one of the pieces of batter. Replacement offering was slightly better but still very poor quality and little pieces of fish. Chips were greasy but salad and coleslaw were good. Our waitress was friendly and helpful done her best to resolve the issue but was let down by the kitchen. We tried the Brie starter which was good but expensive at €9.95. Disappointed with the cleanliness of the tea cups and milk jug had to send them back.

10/07/2025: I ordered a pasta on Monday. The pasta was terrible, tastes sour.

07/07/2025: Stopped in for lunch on a weekday so it was quiet. Good food. Lovely spot by the canal
