09/09/2024: Good location. Extensive breakfast menu. Pleasant surroundings. We had a range of dishes. From porridge, which comes with all sorts of extras, full breakfast, smashed avocados on toast etc!! We all loved our food. Service great and good value for money.

16/11/2024: Came back here after a while, and the food is still delicious, specially the beef pudding that I tried. Very nice staff by the way !

14/11/2024: Absolutely way over priced crap. Absolutely disgusting. €15 for a half portion of penne pasta and sauce with garlic bread. There was more in a childs portion. There was water all over the plate and by the time I got to sit down the garlic bread was soaking. I asked for it to be heated up and that young girl was apologetic. But when I did get to eat it I couldn't swallow it the taste was vial.

10/11/2024: Food and menu has changed recently. I ordered off the specials menu and they waited until everyone else’s food was just about out to tell me they didn’t have pork, I chose the bangers and mash and they brought me out just sausage and potatoes, no veg or Yorkshire pudding like advertised, I asked for a Yorkshire pudding and got it then. The food was very disappointing and cold I hardly ate it. The plate was hot and the food was cold. I honestly would give this a miss.

03/11/2024: First of all before starting I want to add that the staff are amazing and always are. We’ve been coming to The Old Orchard regularly for awhile now and have always loved the food, particularly the wings which were delicious. The introduction of the new menu though has left us a bit disappointed. While the dishes sound good, what we’ve gotten sadly hasn’t been great. The wings have been totally changed and we don’t find them enjoyable anymore. The sauce lacks flavour or spice and they’re more of a dry wing. The quality of the food overall has gone downhill it seems but with an increased price tag. I got a chicken burger recently and it was a chicken thigh which was no problem but it was extremely fatty which made the burger overall not great to eat. Hate to say this because we do love it here but would be less inclined to go for food now than before which is unfortunate. Again, the staff are great and the presentation of the food I have to say is wonderful but just the menu and food itself have left us a bit disappointed and missing the old menu and food.

14/09/2024: Lovely setting, weather not great this evening but staff lovely welcome and couldn't do enough to help us. Great wee town, a couple of lovely pubs, great staff and value for money. Definitely a revisit in the future,

09/11/2024: The SPA in this hotel gets 10/10 from me And the rest is a bit worse. In general, the hotel looks great inside, I went to a wedding and on the good morning there was a crowd of wedding guests with cigarettes and alcohol at the main entrance (the hotel has two places for smoking cigarettes), which scared me (the hotel has two places to smoke cigarettes), then there were guests running around the entire hotel in a drunken state, which is not cool for other guests. . The hotel restaurant has disgusting food, I ordered wings crisps and got them, but they were either made two days in advance or from a bag for 10e. When I asked the waiter whether they were fresh or frozen, he hesitated to answer, so my friend came and said they were fresh. (We know how it was) for the second course I ordered a steak and I got the steak. It was the only one that was good because the side dishes, such as fries, were also from the previous day, as well as the arugula, disgusting, no tomatoes or onions. Average service. I don't recommend it. The middle room would need to be renovated and the bathroom thoroughly cleaned because while taking a shower I was repulsed by the crap coming out of the shower head. I got a room overlooking the street, but unfortunately you can hear everything at double volume. Plus, close to Aldi and Lidl.

05/11/2024: What can I say, the pictures on Instagram, website etc, are nothing like the actual Hotel, which is well worn, we had vouchers for two nights dinner. The first, in the bar was 0/5, the description on the menu didn't match the actual food, which was poor. The pool area was well worn and the water gave me a rash on my leg! The meal in the 'posh' restaurant was 1000 times better. Should have picked this for both nights hindsight is a wonderful thing!

04/11/2024: I ate here for lunch Saturday with a friend we ordered the Cajun Burger and chips and a beef burger and chips and it was just okay, no real flavour and presentation was very sloppy. The chips were like skinny frozen ones and were over cooked I think, now others people food look nicer then ours so possibly we just picked the wrong item on the menu which we felt was very limited. The new decor of the pub I didnt like as I preferred it when it was The Porterhouse more old style, the service however was really good and staff were friendly and attentive and looked after is really well. Would I go back, for a few drinks yes but not for food or the atmosphere.

04/11/2024: Unfriendly staff, terrible food and overpriced hipster beer.

02/11/2024: We popped in here for a small bite to eat after visiting Sean's bar. The place looks like a small cafe on the outside but is very homely inside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We opted for two caesar salad with no chicken and one chowder. The salads were top class and very tasty the chowder was creamy with a super flavour. While in there we had a look at the evening a la carte menu, it looks comprehensive. An ideal evening would be a visit to Sean's bar with some food in the River View bistro and back into Sean's bar again. Highly recommended. Yes we will be back.
