31/05/2024: Good selection on the menu and nice size portions. Food was amazing and not a long wait. Cosy atmosphere with the open fire on, I wasn't able to manage a pudding but from looking at others they looked lovely too. Highly recommend 😀

15/10/2024: They have served me food here that's inedible. They have screwed up my orders. They have embarrassed me with an overly loud argument in front of everyone. They have even flirted inappropriately with my partner. Sure, it looks the part... but I live in Portmarnock and I don't even consider this place as an option anymore.

04/04/2025: Such a cool place, I loved the decor and the vibe, the bar and the restaurant area are separated which is perfect for keeping a calm atmosphere. The food came out very quickly, everything was fresh and tasty 😋 the servers were incredibly nice and the cocktail deals are such a steal! 🙌🏻 I recommend ordering something frozen, like a daquiri since the glasses are pretty small so you'll have more time to enjoy it 💙

04/04/2025: Amazing food and value for money for lunch special €10. I had crispy dumplings(gyozas), chicken burger and french fries. It delicious. Didn’t think this price range existed in Dublin anymore.

21/03/2025: Overall, a good pub but more of a “hotel tourist” sort of place and not typical for a good Irish pub. The menu is fairly good, and includes several vegetarian options, like a veggie burger, mushroom pasta, a Caesar salad, and grilled vegetables. They were out of Murphy’s stout, which surprised me, but I had read previous reviews about them being out of dark beers completely in the past. (What?? A pub that’s out of a favorite local beer?? Unheard of…) Obviously, they have not fixed that issue! Our service was good. We had good meals. The seafood chowder was probably the best that I have had in Ireland so far. Prices are high, but that is to be expected for this area with all of the tourists. If you are looking for an authentic Irish pub here, though, check out some other options.

19/03/2025: Habíamos visitado Colgan’s cuando nos alojamos en Muckross Park Hotel hace algunos años y realmente disfrutamos, en particular los bailarines y la música en vivo, así que decidimos reservar una mesa para la noche del día de Patrick en nuestra última visita. ¡Fue muy decepcionante! No había bailarines ni música, de hecho ni siquiera cualquier decoración... ¡no sabrías que era el día de Patrick! El ambiente era cero. Pedimos, comimos y nos fuimos en 45 minutos y nos dirigimos de vuelta a la ciudad para continuar las celebraciones en los pubs allí que todos tenían música en vivo. El único punto bueno que podría mencionar es que la comida estaba bien, pero la visita se arruinó al no tener ambiente. No recomendaría y no volvería de nuevo en nuestros muchos chalecos a Killarney.

Was going there for years and used to be great but now very disappointing! —- I know your in middle of renovations, but portion for chicken supreme was pigeon leg sized and in red wine gravy and mash… ehh and chicken supreme is usually in a white creamy sauce? Too expensive shrink-flationed portions! Bridges burnt won’t return.

31/12/2024: Muy, muy decepcionado. Visita anualmente @xmas pero nunca más. Gnocchi no comestible, hamburguesas secas, patatas fritas tan fuerte rebotó cuando trató de comer con un tenedor, la merluza era horrible. Platos muy desnudos, sin ensalada de acompañamiento en cualquier plato. Los ñoquis solo tenían un pequeño trozo de pan de ajo, las porciones eran extremadamente pequeñas. No demasiado ocupado así que no hay excusa. Quedó esperando años para ordenar y de nuevo para pagar. Dije que la comida no era buena, pero le dije que no le diré disculpas al chef. No volveré.

08/10/2024: Good for a pint of Guinness to wind down the evening while sitting out front to watch the people. There are bouncers at the door checking ID's but they could clearly tell that I am definitely of age. Inside, loud with music at 8pm on a Saturday night. So it was outside with the pint glass and thankfully, no one smoking out there. Great to sit for an hour and watch the idiots peel out from Eyre Square in their fancy cars. And watch the taxis make the u-turn to the stand directly in front. And when someone did decide to light up, finish off the pint and head onwards. Lots of tourists in town this evening so it was busy all around.

20/02/2025: Always a treat to stop here when visiting anyone of the many attractions in the area be it climbing the Galty mountains or walking in Glengara Woods ,the castle or the Swiss cottage. The Welcome in this place is always warm and the food is lovely with a great range for all tastes.

18/02/2025: Out first time here. We all had the pork roast and it was lovely!! Well be back again!!

23/03/2025: Menu specials were online, thought it was a good place for a nice dinner. Totally the opposite! The waitress said they changed the specials 2 weeks ago and have not yet corrected it. No apology’s or concessions, and I might add very rude! Ordered our food, it took almost half an hour, I had Halibut and it was very salty, small portions also. Never came back to check on us as we ran out of water right away and no one ever asked how it was. Waited another 10 minutes and still no one came to check on us. Went up and asked for our check and the hostess said the waitress went home. We told her our experience and as we were leaving she asked us if we wanted more water! Haha, you could not make this up! Not a fan, will never go back!

18/03/2025: Hugely disappointed by recent ‘renovation’ where they have Halved the size of the store : now everything cramped , out of place ; the wide selection that one had gotten used to and Is the Reason why one would shop at this store - the selection and variety of goods and offerings have been greatly reduced. Now the store is cramped , uninviting , none of the atmosphere remains. So very very disappointed.

03/01/2025: My wife and I visited here on a terrible day two weeks weeks before Christmas. I've reviewed this restaurant before, do this will be short. The friendly server cleared a table for us, and we're seated in a few minutes. Food was delicious, served piping hot, sides of fries and mash were again delicious and piping hot. We visited on the day the heating was broken, but we did not notice, only the server told us. Coffee was again delicious. This is a beautiful restaurant, with good food and great staff. Can't wait to return soon. I'd highly recommend this place. Thanks again for another lovely meal.
