Il locale è molto invitante e caloroso, completamente in legno e con un camino che invita sicuramente ad entrare. Il cibo è buono, il personale gentile e il prezzo molto basso. 05/03/2025: I booked this restaurant for a group of about 68 people. Unfortunately, the room was very cold and not particularly inviting. The food was acceptable, but not outstanding. I cannot understand the 4.5-star ratings. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant as it gave the impression of mass processing

20/07/2025: The musicians on 19-20 July 2025 were superb. Very enjoyable music and singing. Would be back if it's just to hear them. I had the fish and chips and swapped chips for onion rings which took a star off. Fish was fresh and batter crispy.

12/06/2025: We had a lovely lunch today. Massive thanks to Mairead who was our server for all her recommendations, courtesy, and humour. It was a pleasure having her look after us. They have a very good lunch menu, with options for everyone, including a very good kids menu. We ended up going for a burger, the fish cakes, and the fish and chips - all amazing, but the fish and chips was the star of the show. Thanks so much Breaffy for a lovely time and look after Mairead - she is a treasure.

19/08/2025: Perfect location for central Dungarvan, plus free parking just outside. Lovely staff (especially Roisin). Nice breakfast. Rooms on the small side but fine for a few days. We will be back.

14/08/2025: A delightful bnb. Rooms were spotless and a lift was that came in very useful. Breakfast is a mix of continental and Irish and help yourselves. Lots of places to eat nearby. Overall a yery good experience.

24/04/2025: Perhaps we should have sticked to the cakes which looked delicious, but it was lunch so we had soup which was a joke. It was meant to be vegetable. It was very watery and tasted like stock cubes. The wrap and sandwich were ok but too expensive.

05/08/2025: Truly the hotel was fine. But the restaurant staff were very careless, and the service was slow even though it was almost empty. My meat was overcooked, and my brother had to wait 30 minutes for his food because the waitress “forgot” (that's what she said) to write it down. It also quite long for us to receive our drinks after we requested another round. After complaining about this to the waitress she confirmed to us that our desserts would be removed off our bill and put on the house. After asking for our bill and having to wait almost an hour, it came back complete without our desserts removed from the amount. The food was also mediocre at best.

19/07/2025: This review is for the restaurant/pub only – we did not stay at the hotel. We stopped in for a quick lunch at the 1808 Brasserie bar yesterday while passing through on the way to Rosslare, and unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food and service. My partner ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which arrived ice cold and even raw in parts. When we brought this to the staff’s attention, there was little concern shown, and surprisingly, the floor manager didn’t come over at any point to apologise or check in. The waitress did offer to replace the dish, which we appreciated, but we declined. Instead, as a “token of apology,” we were brought a cold ham and cucumber sandwich along with some overcooked chips – which honestly just added to the awkwardness of the situation. The beef sandwich was also below par. We left feeling quite let down by the whole experience and would hesitate to return based on this visit.

10/08/2025: Our dinner was of the highest quality. Every dish was delicious. Special praise must go to my lobster starter which included the most wonderful tomato consume. The service was excellent.

13/08/2025: This place used to have great character with freedom to explore the garden and walk past aviaries with owls and different types of pheasant, a huge apple tree out the front, and a lot of locally produced art etc for sale. I'm sure there may be very good reasons, or reasons outside anyone's control for a lot of this, but it's definitely lost some of its quirkiness.

10/08/2025: Not good value for money at all - seems the owners are making margins off portion size at expense of customer. Please do something else to make profits rather than ripping off previous regular customers.

11/07/2025: The antithesis of a greasy spoon, every morsel was a delight, could has chosen anything on the menu and be happy, I chose the Turkish eggs but every plate going out to the other diners looked every bit delicious also. If I could be negative…€3.50 for a small glass of sparkling water was hard to swallow and the scruffy planters and benches on entrance need some love 🤔

23/07/2025: El mejor regalo que me he hecho fue una cena en solitario en George V. El equipo es acogedor y atractivo. Aprendí sobre vinos de Paul Fogerty, sumiller jefe. Recibí sugerencias encantadoras en el menú de Andrea, mi servidor. El ritmo era apropiado para saborear cada bocado de comida de la finca ricotta al inicio del suflé de frambuesa (vale la pena el tiempo para prepararlo) como el final de una comida maravillosa. IT fue una experiencia que realmente fue un punto culminante para mi estancia en The Lodge at Ashford Castle.

03/07/2025: Cenamos con otra pareja. La cena es un acontecimiento. El personal de servicio fue excepcional. La comida es artística, lo que significa que las porciones son únicas y pequeñas. Espere gastar mucho. También desayunamos en este restaurante que estaba bastante bien y las raciones eran mejores.
