Strollers Bistro
03/11/2024: How absolutely delightful that this fabulous restaurant is now offering Sunday lunch. We had the most wonderful leisurely meal in gorgeous surroundings with efficient, friendly but non-intrusive service. Speaks for itself that there were so many locals enjoying a new addition to what is offered by this excellent establishment. We will definitely be back for more Sunday lunches. Be sure to book as I feel this is going to become a very popular option very quickly!!
12/10/2024: Ate at Strollers this evening and we already can't wait to go back. Great service, food arrived promptly, no long waits between courses. Plate of breads and spreads, while we waited for our starters to arrive, was a lovely touch. The food was divine. Barely had room for dessert but when the dessert trolley arrived it was too hard to resist! Great atmosphere, lovely friendly guy playing piano kept us all entertained. By far the nicest place we've ate in Ballyb.

21/09/2024: The restaurant is highly recommended.
The quality of the food is at a high level and really tasty. The menu is large and not overdone, but there is plenty to choose from.
The service was efficient and really nice.
The only downside is ordering drinks at the bar and not through the waiter.
The atmosphere is also very nice and the terrace by the sea is the biggest advantage of this pub.

The Earl of Thomond
18/10/2024: Our family of three spent our last Ireland vacation day at Dromoland Castle and had dinner in the Earl Of Thomond restaurant. What a fantastic dining experience; we were treated like royalty. The food and service were impeccable. The harp music was a lovely accompaniment to dinner. Shout out to Eric whose drink recommendations complemented our meal choices perfectly.
29/09/2024: Spent the weekend at Dromoland Castle and enjoyed most of our meals here. Amazing food with top notch staff and extensive wine list. “Best of Ireland” without a doubt! We will be back.

12/11/2024: Food was solidly alright, nothing to write home about. Expansive menu, but food was underwhelming. I sat there thinking I genuinely could have made something better at home. Staff were friendly and accommodating, while busy. Atmosphere was lively, I would go back for drinks and company but not for a meal.
10/11/2024: Stopped in here for a quick bite to eat. Had the soup and sandwich combo. Vegetable soup was lovely just the right size portion some nice memorabilia around the bar. Only one small issue the combo was advertised for €10 and when we paid the bill we were charged €11.50 even still it was very nice and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back

30/08/2024: Great food, service was friendly and quick and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting at around 6pm. We has club sandwiches, chips and soft drinks which were nice and reasonably priced.
Would definitely recommend this place.
13/08/2024: I love this bar. It's always a pleasure to grab a drink after work. I love the seating outside. You're ouside but still covered in case of rain. Staff is friendly and attentive. I always feel welcomed and looked after. Thanks for your hospitality, guys.

11/09/2024: Prefect pub to end our trip with! The inside is amazing. There were 8 of us and we were served quickly. Nessa, who has worked there for 26 years, was fantastic! There is an entire vegetarian/vegan menu, just ask for it. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The sticky toffee cake is more like a spiced cake. Still good, but not what we expected. Get the bread pudding if you’re getting dessert. Amazing!
11/09/2024: The food was mediocre, chicken was dry, corned beef was dry, we were packed in like sardines with empty tables available. Dessert was left unfinished by most at our table. Service also was mediocre, we asked if we could spread out to another table the server said I need to ask. No one ever got back to us. The dancers were the highlight of the entertainment. Musicians were okay but hokey with rehearsed/scripted comments.

17/09/2024: Typical Irish restaurant inside a hotel, but with a separate entrance. The food is more varied than the rest and a delicious duck with apricot and vegetables should be highlighted.
Dave, the waiter who served us, was very kind and made sure everything was right, wonderful!
Highly recommended if you are visiting Kilkenny!
10/09/2024: Hotel decor is a little dated and showing its age now, but food isn't bad with a good range of options.
