He wasn’t just great at his job — he was the highlight of our entire stay. The hotel is lucky to have him, and we’ll be back largely because of him!

08/08/2025: While on our honeymoon in Ireland, Ireland by Bike suggested we dine at Yellow Pepper. So glad we did, the atmosphere is so cozy, the food was amazing. We had the opportunity to meet the owner Kieran who is a gem! Chris and Kerrilee

05/08/2025: Visited Letteykenny in Ireland for a short break, had seen reviews. Definitely have to book so popular. Lovely options to choose from. Decided to go straight to the main, I had the lamb shank special of the day, The lamb just fell off the bone, buttery mash with good selection of vegetables, some as purée,and a tasteful jus to bring it all together. My husband had the cod with fish pie, a beautiful chunky piece, definitely a hot pie with creamy mash. Both our plates were completely cleaned. I had the meringue with fresh fruit and compote, meringue crispy and chewy just the way it should be. A lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff were very attentive and polite. Very good value as well. Would definitely recommend The Yellow.Pepper

21/11/2025: We recently dined at this restaurant and had a great experience. They were incredibly accommodating for vegans, offering a number of options. 19/11/2025: Food ok. Chips ,the usual bland variety you often get in local restaurants. Coffee good. Waitress was very good at her job and friendly. Lunch was taken here which with excellent soup, the test consisted mainly of Lite Bites. Luncheon

04/01/2026: What a lovely place to stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is gorgeous, well presented. We come for the walks on the beach.

05/10/2025: Great food and atmosphere here. Haven't actually stayed the night (we live in a motorhome, so have no need), we tend to just come for a drink or a bite to eat. Staff very friendly and efficient, Guinness is spot on, and the food delicious.

18/10/2025: I could get no room in the shearwater hotel, they recommend pillar house bar to me, I just wanted a bed to sleep in, nothing fancy. It's in the town , and a few steps down from the pub itself. Absolutely did the job for me, the bed is massive and ensuite small but it's only me. 50 euro for the night no breakfast, that's grand And no hurry up in the morning.

The portions are just right, both satisfying and well-presented, and the quality far exceeds what you might expect for the price. 28/11/2025: Had the best time. Shoutout to Mia and her father. The Otter Bar was a highlight of my trip while traveling Ireland. We originally stopped in for a bite to eat but ended up getting take out delivered to the bar from another village. “The people of Inistioge are hungry!” I’ll cherish the memories. Spice bags and Sláinte!

04/09/2025: Visited The Pikeman Bar at The Grand Hotel in Tralee during our road trip in Ireland, based on the recommandation in ‘Rough guide’. The bar area and atmosphere was brilliant. I had the seafood platter salad and I was blown away by the freshness and quality of the food. My partner had the rib of beef which was excellent as well. We were so pleased with the food that we returned the next day for breakfast and the full Irish breakfast was fantastic. Amazing value for the price we paid on both occasions. Highly recommend.
