McCambridge's
Galway
29/12/2025: I’m new to the city, but McCambridge’s already feels like it’s going to be one of my favourite spots. Amazing deli and grocery selection, great quality produce and local treats—and the café upstairs is a lovely bonus. Always worth a visit.
21/12/2025: I came in here looking for some oriental tea bags. Unfortunately, to my horror I seen the Derek Chauvin working there. Now I'm not much into the culture stuff myself but I've been thoroughly educated by my niece, who is a barista. So she knows all things politics in her career. That man took a knee for BLM but not in the correct way. A solid gold coffin wasnt enough.

The Flying Enterprise
Cork
01/02/2026: The place itself is charming, very well maintained, and the staff were genuinely friendly. We ordered two glasses of wine, one from Chile and one from New Zealand. To my surprise (I’m usually not a fan of Chilean wine), both were really good, and the pours were generous. The waiter was lovely and even brought the bottle over so I could see the name of the wine. Zero complaints there.
Also worth mentioning: in January, pints are €4.50, which is a great deal, even though we didn’t try them.
I’m giving 3 stars because we came in mainly due to the advertised snack + pint until 9pm. We ordered the loaded fries with truffle and parmesan. As you can see in the photo, despite being a large plate, they’re barely “loaded” at all. They were essentially fries with some parmesan sprinkled on top. Tasty, yes, but calling them “loaded fries” feels misleading.
When we asked for a bit more sauce (the one you see in the photo), we were told no because the kitchen was closed. I ended up speaking with the manager to explain that this didn’t feel fair, and it took him literally two minutes to get it — though not without first insisting again that the kitchen was closed and the chefs were already gone. Honestly, charging €9 for fries with a bit of cheese and a small pot of spiced mayo, and then debating over giving a bit more sauce, really detracted from the experience. We weren’t asking for anything to be cooked — just a simple gesture that would have made the experience much more pleasant.
Overall, thank you for the service. I can’t say I wouldn’t recommend it — there are definitely good things about the place — but with so many options in Cork, it’s probably not somewhere we’d return to.
02/01/2026: Most expensive roll in Cork?
I've been a customer of the deli here for a good 20 years, but I've found their prices and habits of overcharging have just gone crazy.
Despite advertising prices for various rolls, no matter what you get in it, you will be charged the highest price. I've often got a 4-5 item roll, and you will still be charged for 8 items. I recently started to ask for the 8 items, out of principal, and now they are charging €7.50 for a breakfast roll.
False advertising and overpriced.
Insane.

Donnybrook Fair
Malahide
12/01/2026: Believe this or not but absolutely will never go there again. Myself and a pal met for a spot of lunch at one o'clock and decided to go to donnybrook Fair , my friend got us a table and I queued to order the food. There were about four people ahead of me , when I got to the register and went to place my order I was told that they had stopped doing hot food as the chef was going on her break. IT WAS 1.10pm IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY . THIS IS CALLED LUNCH HOUR. I was just so amazed that the girl at the register who is the supervisor was saying this out loud. It's LUNCHTIME one of the busiest periods of the day and they stop doing hot food. I have been a Qualified Chef for over thirty years and this is just unthinkable. What a way to run a business. All I can say is good luck.
05/01/2026: We went there to drink something hot because of the freezing cold weather and we ordered a hot chocolate and it wasn't hot at all and also it was watery and tasteless.

Speaker Connolly
Dublin
02/01/2026: The Asian bartender should be let go on the spot for bullying customers and hopefully the owners will take a note.
Went there with my partner to have darts. For the 2 minutes there, all I said was can we have the darts to play while discussing who is having what for drinks.
He was interested to get the order first and went to pout Guinness and then to the bar area to get the ginger beer. Since we didn’t wanted to wait at the till for several more minutes asked again for the darts so we can go and play while the beer settles and etc.
he went to grab the darts cup then gave a smirky stare and said - how many times you have to ask for follow by some humiliating and angry aggressive words how impatient we are and etc. we just stayed silent and waited for him to calm down. Apparently the silence completely derailed his emotional momentum and he screamed at us “what is your problem”. In dismay, we just sat there shocked and tried to reason him down that all we want is the darts and nothing else. He snatched the ginger beer screamed again and brushed off from the lounge to the bar side.
There was no manager on duty but we plan to go back and make sure the owners are aware.
Ive been to this pub plenty of times and this is simply unacceptable in any standards.
There are cameras and I hope the owners will review the situation from 02.01.26 at around 2.55 pm.
11/12/2025: It's a good pub, nice staff, good pint , no food at the moment , closing in the new year new pub being built.

Scarriff Inn
06/01/2026: Had lunch here. Best thing about the place are the views.
Fish and chips -- The coating on the fish was rock hard and tasted of old, tired grease. The fish was overcooked and had a very strong fishy aroma and taste. The fries were not bad and ended up being the best part of it. They charged €19.95, a very high price, which emphasises the fact this place is a big-time tourist trap.
The servers were working at a furious pace and not very friendly. They would snatch a plate away almost before you were finished eating.
Forget eating here, it's not worth it. Having to go through the gift shop to get to the food says it all.
17/10/2025: Tourist trap stop
Food good but overpriced

The Fry Traditional Fish & Chip Shop
Cork
02/08/2025: The fry, one of the very few traditional chip shops left in Cork, well priced, beautiful food, phone in orders available, and they accept credit cards
23/07/2025: I had haddock and it was not pinboned and when I was eating scales were coming directly in my mouth. It was not descaled as well and the quantity was not enough. Very bad experience with haddock. 1/4 and 1/2 pounders are nice.

The Eddison
Dublin
04/01/2026: We went for lunch for 8 people before a game in the Aviva. Service was very poor, no consistency with waiting staff. We were served by a different waiter every time. Very slow to get drinks and food. It took over an hour for the kids to be served their food. Food was average but overpriced. Tempura prawn starter had 2 prawns for €22. Kids meal €18 for 2 courses!!
We were the only table in the restaurant so I’m not sure why service and food was so slow.
The hotel is beautiful. The setting is lovely. If service was better this could be a great place to dine.
19/10/2025: Truly awful experience today for lunch. We had been on many occasions before and were always wowed by the atmosphere food and service.
A group of 6 of us arrived for lunch today and were seated next to a group of 50 people which appeared to be a christening. The noise was deafening, children running around screaming and staff were few, and very overwhelmed.
The food was really poor, the accompanying salad with the prawn tempura lacked freshness, the steak was as tough as old boots with no marination, and the ice cream for dessert was similar to what you’d get at a children’s birthday party.
I complained to management and they did discount the bill, a solid gesture but not what I was looking for!
We were looking for a nice meal in a ‘small leading hotels of the world’ restaurant but it felt like a cross between McDonald’s and a roadside cafe.
Management need to step up, this is APPALLING, and we will not be stepping in there ever again

Leo Burdock
Dublin
02/03/2026: Absolutely delicious and very welcoming! We ate very well and the portions were generous; we even got a souvenir t-shirt.
02/03/2026: This place was recommended to us as “the best fish and chips in Dublin,” but the experience was very disappointing.
The fish had a strong oily taste, and the batter was overly thick, resulting in a heavy, heavy texture. The chips were undercooked: soggy on the outside, firm in the center, with an unpleasant potato flavor, likely due to insufficient cooking.
The fish was shown to me before preparation and had clearly come from the freezer. This isn't necessarily a problem in itself, but it contradicts the image of “fresh” product one might expect from an establishment touted as a benchmark.
For €20, the value for money is clearly lacking. It's still decent fast food, but certainly not up to the advertised standard.
In my opinion, there are much better options in Dublin.
