The best restaurants

28/10/2025: Came across this lovely bar whilst in Athenry. It has an old style charm, cosey and above all, serves first class Guinness,the traditional draft and the 00% . It also has a good selection of draft beers on tap. Friendly and a place to definitely visit.

29/06/2025: Stopped by Macroom on our way to Galway, and came across the Next Door Cafe on the main street. It is a great spot for a casual lunch. Food was fresh and well made, and the setting is comfortable and attractive.

13/11/2024: You will be spoilt for choice from the home cooked ham , fresh home made salads, freshly baked goods and much more and obviously the coffee.

15/07/2025: This bar has disimproved over the last few years. Still much better than Hacketts (full of poseurs) opposite and has a reasonable selection of drinks. Needs a loving hand to bring it back to what it was.

02/11/2025: Satay was not good it was a very thick paste sauce with no flavour of peanut off it . The curry sauce was very salty . Very disappointed.

28/07/2025: We enjoyed a lovely evening meal in Moghal Indian Restaurant. Eugene took time to give us recommendations from the menu, depending on our likes and spiciness! He was not at all intrusive while we made our choices. We took Eugene's suggestions which did not disappoint, compliments to the chef, the food was delicious. You can bring your own beer or wine which was brilliant also. Each dish was freshly cooked, piping hot and really tasty. The ambience is relaxed and friendly, special thanks Eugene. Moghal Indian Restaurant in Bantry is well worth a visit as a sit down guest or for a takeaway.

05/07/2025: Nice, small, friendly club, more interested in sailing than posing . Quiet spot, away from the tourists and daytrippers but the pubs, chipper, restaurant and supermarket a 5 to 10 minute walk. No onsite restaurant any more, sadly.
