Scrumdiddly's
Donabate
05/10/2024: Need to update their opening hours. Time wasted driving here for it to be closed.
31/08/2024: Such lovely service today. I came in today and was served by a young girl with curly brown hair, so gutted I didn’t get her name! She went above and beyond for my nut allergy, she ran me through the allergy menu and grabbed all the ingredients directly from the packet and not from the display to ensure no cross contamination could occur, even down to the spoon! my family loved all our ice creams, will definitely be back :)

The Italian Bakery
Waterford
10/07/2025: Was looking forward to trying this place for lunch so invited a colleague, we were left standing at the counter for 15 minutes before the girl even took our order. I asked for the roasted vegetable toastie and was told that they didn't have any. It was on the menu so I asked "can't you make one?" And was met with a shrug of sher shoulders.
I then asked what was in the sourdough rolls on display at the counter, she answered "ham and cheese" I asked, "what type of of cheese?" since the menu had varying sandwiches with pecorino or scammorza etc. And I wondered if the ham she referred to was cooked ham or prosciutto crudo. She replied, "Oh, I wouldn't know that"
I gave up and asked for one of those, i then asked if I could get some tomato on it, she said, "they are all pre-made".
I asked, "well, do you not have any ingredients here? No tomatoes? Couldn't you chop one up and add some?"
Which, to me, did not seem an unreasonable request, In an "Italian" place, tomatoes being the cornerstone of Italian cuisine.
She shrugged again. So I paid for my coffee and sandwich and asked for a glass of water. She said, "sit down and I'll drop everything down to you. Another 10 minutes passed and she brought our food to our table. Cooked ham and still not sure about the cheese. No glass of water!
I went back to the counter and asked for two glasses of water, (one for my colleague) she handed me one, I said
"sorry, I asked for two glasses" and was met with a sigh. Then she proceeded to argue with another customer because they didn't take their table number to their table, before getting the second glass.
Anyone can have a bad day but she clearly wasn't very good at her job and didn't want to be there.
Maybe I should lower my expectations, but was quite disappointing. The most Italian things about this place were the imported Italian pasta products displayed on the shelves.
You'll find more variety and staff knowledge of the offerings (and get a warmer welcome) at a deli counter in any convenience store chain.
10/05/2025: Coffee served in paper cups instead of mugs.even though we ordered on the site.

L'Oasi
Dublin
22/10/2024: The worst Italian meal I’ve ever had in my life! We received our meals 5 minutes apart from one another. The aubergine parmigiana was likely microwaved as it was still cold with just a melted cheese top. The pasta sauce was like a watered down chicken stock and the pizza was worse than a freezer version. With so many nice options in the area such as olivetto, belli dentro and dolce italia, I can’t understand how they’re still open!
05/10/2024: We happened to be in the area a Friday night to our surprised we managed to get a table for 4, the place was empty. Kids ordered carbonara and it tasted like no other carbonara we ever tasted before, no flavored whatsoever and was so dull kids wouldn't even touch it. My husband ordered a sausage ragu pasta and was chewie I was the only that kinda enjoyed my meal, I had the Tiger prawn risotto. The starters were so overpriced for what we got it was ridiculous to see the size of the brushetta.
After all the disaster waiter came and took plates without even asking how was the food, maybe she is used to collecting full plates .... as no one will enjoy their food. If you are looking to over spend on crappy food this is your place but if you are like me ...enjoy good Italian food don't go there.

Spice House Indian Kitchen Santry
Dublin
27/05/2025: This place is closed don't use . they taken my money from the bank . website shows like is normal open but that not true
03/05/2025: I placed an order for collection at 18:53 but didn’t receive it until 19:20. By then, my original items were unavailable, and I had to accept substitutes. There’s no seating available on the premises, so I had to stand awkwardly in front of the reception, facing SuperValu shoppers. Unfortunately, the food itself was not impressive either. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Pulse Cafe
Dublin
11/11/2025: I went to this café today and ordered a small mocha. While chatting with my colleague, another staff member (different from the one who took my order) called out “your mocha,” so I naturally went up and took it. A few moments later, the person who originally took my order came up to me and started speaking to me quite loudly, accusing me of taking a medium mocha instead.
I tried to explain that I just took the drink when their colleague handed it out, but she continued to speak in an unpleasant tone and gave me angry looks — right in front of my colleague and her staff. I found that very unprofessional and unnecessary, especially since the difference was only €1 and it wasn’t even a mocha — it turned out to be a cappuccino.
I wasn’t bothered about getting the wrong drink, mistakes happen, but the way the situation was handled and the attitude shown were completely unjustified. A little more courtesy and understanding would have gone a long way
29/07/2025: Costa pulse at ucd have my heart, they have the best staff always there to serve you. I was a student here and everytime i used to enter the cafeteria they remembered my regular order and with a bright smile they served me. Thanks to the entire team for making my time in UCD great. Kudos. The small mocha will be missed.

Kilcoran Lodge Hotel Restaurant
Tipperary
12/08/2024: Everything needs a makeover. The pool area is full of mold, rust and other substances that do not belong there, the rooms look okay at first glance but are old and dirty if you take a closer look. Avoid looking behind the window shutters in room 15. A Disgusting mix of mold dirt, old wallpaper, insects and other disgusting things. The service in the bar was mediocre and slow the breakfast among the least convincing we have had in three weeks. Even 2 Star guesthouses managed to produce a better breakfast than this.
10/08/2024: To start off the stay, check in was very unprofessional. Check in is at 3pm and we arrived at 3.15pm and waited for 5 mins at reception in front of a sign that read "ring the bell for assistance" with no sign of any bell. There was clearly someone in the office behind with a child, and they didn't acknowledge us. A waitress came over and eventually checked us in. Why is the reception not attended by a receptionist at the time of check in?
The whole place absolutely stinks of damp and mold, possibly because the ancient windows are jammed shut and do not appear to open.
After 1 pint of Guinness, I asked for a second and was informed the bar had ran out of Guinness. Yes, ran out of Guinness... in Ireland. Very poor bar management.
The mattress in room 1 was very uncomfortable. Again, the windows didn't open and the small room became very stuffy.
The floors, particularly where breakfast is served, are extremely sticky to the point my flip flop got stuck to the floor as I was walking. It clearly never gets mopped.
The breakfast was an absolute disaster. Breakfast starts at 8am, we booked for 9am. Almost every table was dirty and uncleared. There were no bowls for cereal. I asked for a pastry as they were on the breakfast menu, and was told there were none left. So within 1 hour every pastry in the hotel had been eaten. I asked for a cappuccino and was told that would be an extra charge. The breakfast menu has "creamy scrambled egg", however it is clearly microwaved in a massive bowl and chopped up with a knife. It's flavourless and the texture is absolutely disgusting.
The place needs to be deep cleaned, aired out and painted. Also, why is nearly every picture on the walls crooked? It seems like nobody takes any pride in the appearance of the place. It's very poor value for money considering a 4 star hotel nearby was only 20 euro more expensive for the night.
