The Central Bar Athenry

03/08/2024: We were there for 3 days and it was super fun in The Central Bar, highly recommended to have a beer there in the evening with the local people. We spent the night around the corner at The Old Barracks hotel, which is highly recommended and the breakfast is delicious.

31/01/2025: Horrible experience, I was just passing through Clonmel, parked the car for a stroll and coffee, I regrettably chose here.
After waiting at least 3 minutes or more with no staff member present, eventually a guy came out from the back, never said hello or sorry for keeping you, just nodded, I ordered a coffee, which seemed to be putting him out straight away he handed me a paper take away cup, when I asked to put it in an actual cup, he rolled his eyes and tutted at which point I told him it was ok and to keep it and I left.
I walked a hundred yards up the road to another little coffee shop which was lovely, friendly full of chat and welcoming.

29/05/2024: Booked 2 classes for 5 as a hen party activity, which included a free drink (Sol or a soft drink). We chose Bachata and Salsa, which started later than planned (the fault of the venue, not the class organizers).
The classes were great - started with a group warm up before splitting beginners and intermediate groups. If you don't have a partner to go with it's not a problem - they'll rotate the group around so that everyone gets a turn practicing the moves with a partner. The teaching was clear and at a good pace, and the instructors were friendly & fun. Definitely recommend!
