The best restaurants

25/08/2023: The photos are misleading. This is not a restaurant, it’s the food court of the Cave Attraction (which isn’t a bad thing, but it doesn’t show that in the pictures). There are lots of families with lots of kids (again, not a bad thing, just not the “restaurant” experience we were expecting from the name + pictures). The food is mainly fast food and ok for an imbiss, but again, not restaurant food.

10/08/2023: It was empty restaurant. We were selebrating our anniversary. Like this all restaurant was only for us 😋

11/02/2026: I'm an American recently moved to Galway, trying to find one decent burrito in all of Ireland. My quest brought me to try Zinc's Burrito Blasta. I am a vegetarian, so I got the veg and halloumi burrito, which I know is not exactly a strict, traditional choice. Ingredients: Halloumi -- Good, but maybe could've been seasoned/marinated with something. Rice -- Good. Veg -- Huge chunks, not much taste, not my favourite. Beans -- Worst part and negatively impacted the whole burrito. This was like a bean soup, and not seasoned with any of the correct spices. Remove a lot of the liquid and add more chili, cumin, and oregano. Or, just offer refried beans as an alternative option. Lettuce, Sour Cream, Shredded Cheese -- Normal; can't really mess this up. Pickled Jalapeños -- Good, a bit of heat. Hot Habanero Salsa -- Very good. I would not call this "very hot" by the standards I'm used to, but I was satisfied with it and it had good flavour. Best part of the burrito. Flour Tortilla Wrap -- Fine, but wasn't wrapped correctly (needs to be tighter or the burrito will unravel). Tortilla Chips (Crisps?) -- Good, and included with order, but didn't come with any extra salsa to dip them. There was an option to add "crunch" to the burrito, which is a mixture of crispy onion, chip bits, and pumpkin seeds. The first two sound good, but why pumpkin seeds? (I did not try this.) For the same price, it is a much better burrito than An Bialann's veg burrito offering. I would guess the meat options are likely better. Could've been pretty good if they changed the style of the beans, but alas. My search continues.

23/06/2024: Malay Kitchen en el centro de Cork es uno de esos lugares sin pretensiones que tienden a pasar durante mucho tiempo antes de finalmente ser iluminado y darle una oportunidad. Atiende principalmente a una clientela para llevar, ya que el espacio para sentarse es limitado, pero si tienes suerte (o paciencia) , también puedes tener la oportunidad de comer allí y ver al personal de la cocina mientras preparan docenas de platos de una manera muy rápida y al mismo tiempo mantener una sonrisa. Una vez que recibas tu pedido, ahí es donde comienza la delicia. Si has pedido algo picante, en particular, y te gusta la comida caliente, te sorprenderá la experiencia.

09/02/2026: Purchased a Torch cutting kit from them - Carl went out of his way - he did not have an Oxygen bottle gauge kit / removed the one from his own set to get me out of the bind - Competitive pricing as well as we do everything we can to shop locally. 16/07/2025: Kids meal is 7.50. Good size portion. "Club sandwich" was literally a toasted ham sandwich with a morsel (literally a scrap) of bacon and a bit of tomato and salad leaves. Perhaps they had run out of the other ingredients... all they had to do was say so. Coffee was grand, carrot cake was nice. Service was slow but friendly. Toilets were clean. There's nowhere else for miles around so unless you've brought a picnic this is it.

05/07/2025: Slow and poor service and average food, was over a 40 minute wait, not a big selection on the menu

26/04/2025: We called in and ordered takeaway. Had munchie box (best chicken balls ever)and spicy box. Huge portions and we couldn't finish what we ordered. Lady was very polite who took order. Will definitely be back when visiting rosses point

13/06/2026: Coffee was good and so was the cookie. But the seating was shocking as was the chicken sandwich. Worst of all was the lack of toilet facilities. Advised to go to the supermarket was not the solution.

19/04/2026: The food was good, the people running it were so friendly and their kid was the highlight of the place, always find it nice when a kid is reading or doing the homework at the back of the shop, I’ll be back next time I’m down. Didn’t have to wait long for the food either!
