The best restaurants in Cork

02/11/2025: I really enjoyed my meal here, the food was fantastic and the staff were incredible. The atmosphere was wonderful and the hand-painted art on the walls of the restaurant as well as on the stairs when going up were beautiful, the place seems like a real labour of love and it’s obvious every member of staff take huge pride in this restaurant. There are a large variety of options on the menu and the portions were huge! We were seated by the window and had a great view of the town, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly and made every effort to ensure we were all happy and didn’t need anything. One man in particular made an effort to chat with my family and even brought a complimentary dessert to celebrate my father’s birthday which was really kind, I wish we got his name because he was a very generous host. The lamb kofta was absolutely gorgeous and I will definitely be back to try more options on the menu as they all looked delicious and it was a struggle to pick just one. The menu also included vegetarian and vegan options so it’s suitable for pretty much anyone, as well as a play area for young kids which is very thoughtful. Thanks so much to all the staff for making a wonderful evening for my family, I have absolutely no complaints and will definitely be a returning customer!

29/03/2026: It is rare to enjoy a truly memorable dinner in at least a 💮💮 Michelin for the price of an affordable 💮 Michelin. Bastion is one of those rare opportunities. Kinsale is far from all the main cities. The closest airports are Cork and Shannon, and then you have to drive. But Kinsale is a lovely Irish seaside village with genuine Irish warmth. At first, Bastion is a simple, cosy restaurant, bathed in this genuine warmth and the caring smiles of all the staff. But as the menu begins, you gradually realise you are tasting a stunning, unique, world-class gastronomy. The enchantment is in absolutely all the dishes, a symphony of creative yet well-balanced flavours. This symphony becomes almost divine if you choose their wine pairing, which is of great finesse, complementing the dishes in an expert way you rarely find. The only thing you might have a bit of back-and-forth about is the dessert, for being only a good dessert. Bastion looks like a normal, nice restaurant, not on any major route, which is probably why it has only one 💮. But gastronomically, my goodness, it is very close to the world very best. And, it matters, they are passionate and friendly. A lifetime experience!

01/04/2026: Our favourite bar in Ireland ❤️ friendly service. The Irish lady with long dark hair was so accommodating there was no chocolate sauce for the desert so she went out of her way to go to the shops to try and get some but unfortunately couldnt but the fact she tried was great. It's been our local whilst staying in kinsale and travelling all over through the day. Food was delicious staff friendly. Great atmosphere very clean and welcoming. Highly recommended to all !

21/03/2026: My mother and I treated ourselves to two nights here as we'd visited before and it looked fab. Although the dinner in the restaurant was lovely and the staff were pleasant, our room was another story. Multiple times through email and over the phone we requested twin beds but found of course just a double bed when we arrived. Not a huge problem and it was rectified fairly quickly. But the room itself was very basic and lacking in niceties. No tv (not a problem for me) but to my news addicted mother it was a letdown. Even with the radiator turned off and both windows open at night it was uncomfortably hot and stuffy to sleep in. No tea/coffee making facilities, the radio/sound box thing was broken. On the last morning we found that there was no toilet roll or shower gel left. Luxury hotel? far from it.

05/04/2026: I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely, making it a perfect spot to relax. The tacos are out of this world — a must-try! Huge thanks to the super friendly staff for the excellent service. 10/10 recommend!

11/04/2026: Outstanding experience at Cobra Tandoori in Kinsale!! We are visiting from Texas and have a love of Indian food. Chicken Tikka was great. Saag Paneer was THE BEST we have ever had. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, and... Playlist right out of 1985's greatest pop hits. Awesome time 👌

08/04/2026: We dined here as a family of 4, with children with autism and physical disability. The staff were accommodating and kind. The food was absolutely beautiful. We ate so much!! Great menu, lots of flavour and reasonably priced. The lamb was so tender, and the chicken pakoras were class. Well worth a visit.
