29/08/2026: Gorgeous food and friendly service

23/08/2026: We ordered food for a family gathering including a birthday cake. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful especially considering we had several coeliacs to cater for. Birthday cake, gluten free cake and the party food were absolutely delicious - highly recommend Ellen’s.

21/08/2026: Everything was good - service, coffee, scones (fresh), coffee cake (proper whisked sponge), fresh bread sandwiches (proper crusty loaf). Quirky memorabilia only added to the atmosphere. Well done all.

13/08/2026: One of the cutest cafes I've come across, tucked in the Spillers Lane. The vibe was of a grandma's home. The home baked goods are to die for. Definitely visiting again!!

22/09/2026: Having returned for the the guitar festival again this year we called into Debarra's to soak up the atmosphere, there was a trad session in the front bar and a banjo player with a bad attitude. He turned up 40 minutes later than advertised, then seemed to get into an altercation with a punter. Then, out of the blue, he shouted at the crowd gathered to 'shut up or get out' better than any bouncer he cleared the place. More than half of the people left, the part we were (near the old stairs / corridor to toilets) in people were in dismay how anyone could have such distain for the customers. He wasn't reprimanded by the bar staff either. Maybe he's the 'manager' ? (He certainly thought he was in charge) On a better note the bar staff were courteous.

09/10/2026: Popped into Jake’s Cakes for breakfast with my wife and really enjoyed it. Apparently under new ownership, and it feels like they’ve struck a great balance between the old-school restaurant vibes and a refreshed, updated menu. The food was good, the coffee was excellent, and the value for money was really impressive. The staff were also genuinely kind and welcoming, which always makes a difference. They’ve also got a bakery next door with a huge selection of pastries. We couldn’t resist picking up a few for our mate Dylan to celebrate his recent 5-year workaversary! 🥐 All in all, a great spot for a relaxed breakfast, good coffee and a few treats to take away. Looking forward to coming back and seeing how things develop under the new ownership!

22/08/2026: I’ve been to Jakes for breakfast quite a few times and I’m always happy to go for their fry-up, which is consistently good. On my most recent visit, though, I decided to try something different because of their summer breakfast specials. I’m not usually a huge fan of avocado and eggs on toast, but for €10 including tea or coffee, I thought I’d give it a go. I’m so glad I did because this was by far the tastiest version of avocado and eggs on toast I’ve had so far! The combination of the creamy avocado, eggs, feta and roasted tomatoes was absolutely delicious, and it was really nicely presented too. It’s not something I would normally choose, but I would 100% order this again. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a good-value breakfast in Bandon.

07/09/2026: Brilliant pub! Fionnula reserved tables for us as we were a big group. Very accommodating. Beamish was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend this pub.

28/09/2026: After a week away it was a joy to drive through Charleville & stop here for a bite for eat. I had heard alot about it. We didn't have a reservation but the girl kindly checked if she had sonething available & brought us to a beautiful glasshouse area for our meal. I highly recommend the bangers & mash with the mushrooms & onions. It was delicious. The staff are a credit to the place, nothing seemed a problem to them & they all seemed happy to be there. I definitely will return. Thank you

01/10/2026: Had lunch here, great setting with the sun shining and the seating area overlooking the sea. Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and entertaining. Big shout out to Finbarr who went above and beyond great service when he found items I had left behind and dropped them at a shop that I would be passing by for me to collect.

14/09/2026: Stopped here for lunch. Very good ham or chicken sandwiches, good beer, and helpful staff.

08/09/2026: Lovely lunch. Service was good however not as friendly as other pubs we've visited in Ireland. Perhaps she was having a rough day. ☺️

08/10/2026: A typical Irish pub, full of charm. Good beer, good company, and great traditional local music! What more could you ask for! Plus, Bryan and Sam made our Ghost Tour a blast, teaching us a bit of Kinsale's history amidst scares and fun adventures. Exceptional and incredibly kind people!

08/09/2026: This bar/restaurant has real character! The service is Irish-style, with a smile, professionalism, and a relaxed atmosphere. The food is good and smells homemade. The scones are amazing. Thanks to the waitress with the tattoos!

23/08/2026: Popped in during a brief stop in Cobh today. I had the prawns with garlic bread and a pint of Guinness. A delicious, well-sized meal and the perfect pour! The staff were all incredibly kind, lovely and provided wonderful service. A special highlight was sitting out the front with my pint and cigarette and was accompanied by a local for a chat. I was having a bad day, but that was delightfully turned around by the good craic at Leonardo’s ❤️

23/08/2026: I tried Leonardo's smash burger and now I understand why Leonardo liked it. The only problem was that the meat was a little dry, but everything else was great.

17/06/2026: Excellent food in a pub style atmosphere. More upscale than the usual pub fare. Vegetarian options. Go early or book - it was full by 18:00.

14/06/2026: Stayed in room 2 for one night with my wife .... lovely staff rooms were great ... location is amazing with lots to see around... was very noisy outside at night but thats only because the town is very busy nothing connected to the hotel ... would definitely return and recommend
