03/05/2026: A welcoming place with lovely vibes, food is tasty and healthy, they're very accommodating of dietary restrictions, and the staff are smiling and helpful. Its also handy that its attached to An Tobairin health food shop. Definitely a favourite place in Bandon

11/07/2026: I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. We came as a group of three and ordered food and drinks for everyone. We spent money at the restaurant—one of us ordered food, I ordered a coffee and a bottle of water and the other a beer. The only reason I had a small container of salad with me was because I am currently on a strict diet while caring for my 5-month-old baby, whom I was holding in my arms throughout our visit. Instead of showing a little understanding, a member of staff came over and told me that I was not allowed to eat my own salad because they also serve salads. I found this extremely insensitive and lacking in empathy. It was a very small personal meal for medical and dietary reasons, not an attempt to avoid ordering from the menu. Good customer service is not only about following rules but also about treating people with kindness and common sense. As a mother with a young baby, I expected a little compassion, especially since our group was already paying customers. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression, and I would not choose to return.

17/05/2026: We had an amazing experience here! We spent 3 nights at Ballymaloe and loved every minute. It is an absolutely stunning hotel in the peaceful Irish countryside. The room was clean, beautifully decorated, had heated floors and a heated towel rack, and the comfiest bed! Our room even had a small patio overlooking the gardens. Service was great as well. The morning breakfast was absolutely delicious and the afternoon tea and cake was a nice way to spend an afternoon. We had the 5 course dinner on property one night- which was also delicious. The employees are all so kind and helpful. 10/10 would recommend Ballymaloe to anyone! And would love to come back one day!

23/06/2026: My family come to the algiers every year during the summer often multiple times and we have always loved the food and the service provided. However this year it seems like both have greatly deteriorated. Food was lacklustre and overpriced for the quality provided and the service was not great. At one point one of the servers an older man, was quite rude to my mother. Unfortunately will be the last time we will come back here. Very disappointing experience.

24/02/2026: Best cup of coffee in West Cork ?? I’d say it’s up there. Lovely staff and vibe. Not very accessible but it is an old building. Yet to try the treats but the protein balls are gluten free

02/11/2025: I really enjoyed my meal here, the food was fantastic and the staff were incredible. The atmosphere was wonderful and the hand-painted art on the walls of the restaurant as well as on the stairs when going up were beautiful, the place seems like a real labour of love and it’s obvious every member of staff take huge pride in this restaurant. There are a large variety of options on the menu and the portions were huge! We were seated by the window and had a great view of the town, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly and made every effort to ensure we were all happy and didn’t need anything. One man in particular made an effort to chat with my family and even brought a complimentary dessert to celebrate my father’s birthday which was really kind, I wish we got his name because he was a very generous host. The lamb kofta was absolutely gorgeous and I will definitely be back to try more options on the menu as they all looked delicious and it was a struggle to pick just one. The menu also included vegetarian and vegan options so it’s suitable for pretty much anyone, as well as a play area for young kids which is very thoughtful. Thanks so much to all the staff for making a wonderful evening for my family, I have absolutely no complaints and will definitely be a returning customer!

13/07/2026: Best fish and chips we’ve had in Ireland. The house made tartar sauce and mushy peas were also excellent.

05/07/2026: Food was nice. I got the vegan option which was couscous stuffed aubergine in a spicy tomato sauce. It was a bit blanned which was disappointing, I couldn’t really get the spice either, I feel like it needed something a bit more. I tried the others dishes and they were a lot better think I must of chosen the wrong dish. Desserts were ok tried the brownie which was quit cakey and not super chocolatey tasting. The profiteroles were grand too, nothing out of this world. I was very excited to come so it was quit a bit disappointed. Chips were really good though same with mash and potatogratan. They know how to do their veg.

30/06/2026: A very friendly welcome, almost everything was reserved, but the kind owner helped us out if we only stayed for 1 hour and 45 minutes and reserved our preferred table. It would have been too chilly outside. The delicious food arrived promptly: wonderful baked scallops and a whole lobster cooked to perfection. Locally sourced! Incredibly tender. Both served on very tasty mashed potatoes. Ideal for the sauce. And afterwards, plenty of vegetables and French fries as a satisfying side dish…
