Great initiative by the owner to leave out buckets and pickers for people to pick rubbish from the beach and then rewards them with hot chocolates or coffees..

13/12/2025: We stopped in glengarriff for some breakfast and checked out a few different spots that we saw on Google maps. A few of them were closed so it came down to Sugarloaf Cafe or the lough afoul inn. A quick look at the lough inn's prices made us slowly back away, and as we were doing so the owner came out and called out some incoherent ramblings about soup and breakfast in quite a confrontational way. This, needless to say, converted our backing away into a swift shuffle into Sugarloaf Cafe. Best decision of the day! The lovely, cozy, friendly atmosphere made our morning. The service and food were outstanding but the star of the experience was the warm and welcoming owner who had us smiling and laughing throughout our meal! Despite having 3 tables to serve when we were there, she made time to make conversation with everyone and made us all feel comfortable. Combined with the far more reasonable pricing than the establishment over the road and this experience confirmed 2 repeat customers. If you're looking for a friendly relaxing dining experience in glengarriff the Sugarloaf Cafe is a must try!

21/10/2025: Popular, convenient local, and fun atmosphere. Belly up and get your pints at the bar, and if you're lucky, you find a seat or a place to stand. It's a gathering place, we did find a table in the back room, tvs with football, and music playing. Worth a stop. During day hours, there is outside seating too, with fabulous views.

12/11/2025: Unbelievable food at the gallery!! As soon as we sat in we told the waitress Teresa we were ready to order (we were hungry and looked at the menu) and straight away she took our order! I'm a pescetarian and no problem at all they swapped the chicken for the Prawns in the sicilian pasta it was divine! I rate my whole meal 10/10 and my partner rated it 9.5/10 - we'll be back!!

28/10/2025: Lovely place to eat, table of 9 people including kids and all wer happy with their food. Lovely atmosphere and staff were really nice. Looking forward to another visit.

24/12/2025: A lovely location and great service with a very nice team. Stayed for 2 nights and had 2 rooms on the top floor. Marked down from 5 stars as 1) Top floor carpets and rooms could have been cleaner: lots of hair on carpet which a better hoover would pick up, quite a bit of dust on shelves, and TV was broken (aerial not attached) so couldn't get TV channels. Noise insulation between floors not great, a drunk couple on floor 1 woke us up on one night as they were in the room below. But the beds were comfy, the food in the cafe is good. It's good value for money.

19/12/2025: Great spot in kinsale. Dog friendly too! They have a garden area for those with their dog. The food, drink and service is all perfect 😊

23/10/2025: What a fabulous spot! Lovely atmosphere, relaxed and cosy. First time here although my son has been encouraging me for a while! We booked on-line which was very straightforward. We parked directly outside the Lodge itself. Parking there is limited enough and tight for turning. There is also the option of parking on the main road and walking up steps (maybe 15). There's an outside area which would be a great spot on a sunny day or well wrapped up. You can see the kitchen from there. You step inside to a bar area where you are warmly welcomed and directed to your table. There are various combinations of seating available. We sat at a high table for two. Menu is mainly curries and burgers but also battered fish and chips. The cuisine is very authentic so the curries are full of flavour and spice. It was too hot for my palate but I blame myself for not checking and requesting it with less heat. The flavour was amazing though. My oh's fish and chips was good. We shared a Malva dessert which was delicious. I had a ginger beer, very refreshing, and my oh had a glass of French Sauvignon Blanc which was excellent and perfectly chilled. Service was attentive and professional. Our bill came to 67 euros. Just to note that sides for the curries are extra. Beautiful location and setting. Great amenity for the local area and beyond. Well worth a trip there. Enjoy.

10/12/2025: The Talbot Midleton is a great hotel in a good location with a bus stop right outside. All of the staff that we met were friendly and professional whatever their job. We had lovely food in the bar and there was a good selection for breakfast. Our room was warm and comfortable. There is just one thing that I don't like and that is the shower curtain! A nice bath screen would be so much better. As repeat guests We once again totally enjoyed our stay and we'll be back. Thank you and well done everyone at the Talbot Midleton.

10/12/2025: We were a family of 24 staying overnight and attending the Christmas party. What a great night from start to finish. From the minute we arrived at check in the staff were so friendly and helpful. This is our 2nd Christmas staying here and we will definitely be back next year. A wonderful hotel with amazing staff. Thank you for making our weekend so memorable. All the rooms were beautiful too.

10/10/2025: A simple restaurant with delicious Italian food. In a place where not everything is open on weekends, they were kind enough to adjust the tables so the group wouldn't be separated.

24/11/2025: Great location looking out over the Marina & Bay, what a way to start your day. Staff are so welcoming and friendly, great value. I defiantly would recomend to give it a go, a little gem of a hotel in the heart of Kinsale
