The best restaurants in Cork

22/02/2025: We had a fantastic takeaway lunch from here on our way from Kerry to Cork. Friendly service, and amazing attention to detail with our sausage baguettes wrapped in tinfoil to keep them warm for our onward journey. Lovely friends ladies. Would absolutely recommend the diversion off the N22 to stop here!

14/03/2025: Come here everytime I am over. I travel from England to see family. Really nice food, lovely homely atmosphere. Staff are attentive and kind, always make you feel welcome. Very clean too. I have either lasagne or turkey and ham. Tried a dessert this time, the death by chocolate. Highly recommend.

19/02/2025: Food absolutely fantastic, never fails to disappoint. Service airy fairy. Nearly ten minutes from first main course to the table to the last and it wasn't a bit group. Ordering desert before water was brought to last few at table. Extra sides not brought at all.

24/02/2025: We’ve been to the townhouse a couple of times and decided to head out last Saturday for lunch, we arrived and waited no longer than 5 minutes to be seated, a lovely friendly waitress showed up to table at the back exit next to the back door , we asked if we could close the door and this was no problem as the table was in a draft. Shortly after a man who I’m assuming was either the manager or the owner came along and opened the door and used a watering can to keep it open, we then proceeded to close it as it was freezing, within seconds he ran out saying we had to leave it open as people would be going in and out. We explained we told we could close the door and that was the reason we took the table. He was adamant the door had to stay open , we asked of we could move table and he dismissed us saying I’m sure there’s a table inside and walked off, the whole situation was a simple thing , he wanted the door left open , absolutely no problem, but it was the manner in which we were spoken to and fobbed off that was plainly just rude . We explained to a different waitress we took the table because we were told we could keep the door closed and he’s now telling us we can’t , the poor girl was so embarrassed. There were clearly no tables inside and there was a queue out the door and he fobbed us off saying yer out of luck ladies ye will just have to wait . Which I can assure you wouldn’t have been an issue if we were spoken to respectfully . Needless to say we didn’t stay as he was now talking loudly from behind the desk and the waitress and ourselves were embarrassed at this stage. We won’t be returning or recommending the townhouse unfortunately.

02/03/2025: I only have words of gratitude for Ellen, who helped me from a distance (we are a Spanish family) to organize my daughter's birthday celebration at her place while we were sightseeing in Cobh. The food is so delicious, so homemade and abundant, that it comforts your soul. He made us a personalized cake, and they even sang happy birthday to him while he blew out the candles. It was our first time in Cobh and we were welcomed as if we were long-time customers. Please, if you visit this wonderful place, do not hesitate to stop by Ellen's place to fill yourself with love and good food. Thank you very much for everything Ellen!!

28/01/2025: The fried chicken in lime and yoghurt was a delight and I enjoyed it. The vanilla ice cream sandwich which is a candied brioche sandwich with caramel, was delicious. The service was flawless and the staff ensured that I enjoyed my time here.

We were not so fan of the burrito as it was impossible to eat it by hand and it was huge potato piece inside, not the best. The menu do not have much option, either for drinks or food, it was a bit pricey. The service was friendly and efficient.

05/01/2025: Excellent cafe in the middle of Cobh waterfront. Amazing coffee, so good , I had two 2 decent mugs. White untoasted sandwich of chicken tikka. The bread reminded me of " milk bread" of yester year. It was so soft & palatable, it shouldn't be toasted. Frank, the owner has really captured the essence of a good cafe.

26/02/2025: Went here for lunch, and was very disappointed, the beef was reheated and cut wafer thin wasn't cooked fresh, the gravy and vegetables were tasteless. The person with me had beef lasagne..no salad..no chips we had to order them seperate..very disappointing...won't be returning

13/02/2025: Two couple went for Sunday lunch. Really good choice of meat and fish dishes. Chicken with Mushroom sauce, garlic potato and veg was really good. Also have soup and toasted sandwiches available and looked really nice. Good choice of deserts. Crunchie cheesecake was delicious 😋 Reasonably priced and good service. Will definitely return.
