25/01/2026: A great place, the prices are very good and the food is great too. The waitresses are very attentive and friendly, checking if everything was alright or if we needed anything. We had a very good breakfast; the portions are quite large, and some options even include coffee and tea, also in generous amounts. We will definitely return. 06/05/2026: We were there within an hour of closing. That may have had something to do with the level of service. The food was excellent. The seafood chowder was divine.

29/08/2025: Fields have put a lot of money bringing their shop up to the standards of the 21st century. Unfortunately, they didn't use the opportunity to bring the standards of their toilets up too. No wheelchair accessible toilets. No excuse in this day and age especially as they are running an in-house cafe. The cafe leaves a lot to be desired. The coffee is awful, food is mediocre and the tables not very clean. UPDATE Fields had a single bathroom downstairs which they had allocated to the elderly. However, they have since taken down that sign and replaced it with a free for all. There is no sign to tell able-bodied customers to use the ample toilet facilities upstairs. Now there is often a queue for their single toilet downstairs. Had they put any thought into the design or had any consideration for the disabled they could have easily made the downstairs wheelchair-friendly and solved a number of issues. They do advertise that their car park has wheelchair accessible spaces. There are not enough of these and cars and delivery lorrie’s are constantly blocking the ramps. Wake up Fields!!

04/08/2025: Will definitely be back for the Turkey & Ham, so delicious 🤤 The breakfast (all day?!?) was really lovely and €14 is a relatively okay price for the size and included tea. The waiters were really friendly and the outdoor seating is gorgeous

26/03/2026: I stood at the door waiting to be seated for about 5 minutes where 2 waitresses walked passed me twice and completely ignored me. I decided to just take a seat myself because the place wasn’t that busy and there was plenty of seats. Sat for 10 minutes waiting to order and was completely ignored again. In the end I just walked out. Absolutely terrible service and won’t be going back ever again

12/04/2026: Stunning experience once again in Garryvoe. The staff are wonderful the food exceptional and the renovation of the lighthouse bistro is incredible . Rooms are spacious and breakfast cooked to order

03/05/2026: This is THE place to stay in lovely Skibbereen. Location is excellent, good easy parking and tremendous staff. Everyone without exception was friendly and made us feel happy to be there. Evening meal of lamb shank was superb, Irish breakfast in the morning will keep us going all day.

21/04/2026: Everything about this hotel is great, friendliest staff anywhere, great location, comfortable rooms and great food. I was on business this time but will be bringing my family back asap. Skibbereen is such a beautiful town also. Couldn't recommend the entire place enough.

14/05/2026: The food was brutal and barely edible. In fact, some of our party couldn’t even eat the food. It was so bad. Do not waste your time and money.

14/05/2026: Meal out was fantastic here tonight. Lovely mushroom starter and the scampi was top notch for a main course. My partner loved the roast beef. Yummy brownie for desert. There's a lovely atmosphere with great service. Lovely selection of wine also. Highly recommend.

02/05/2026: One of those rare places you'd go out of your way to visit (along the same lines as Strandfield cafe in co. Louth and Seagull bakery in Tramore, co. Waterford). The pizzas are exceptional. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Also really great coffee and cakes. The shop is tiny but filled with gems including lush handmade soaps and beautiful Moroccan ceramic bowls. Fantastic deli counter with olives, meats, salads, cheeses, etc. I could go on but I won't. Just visit and see for yourself. An absolute gem!

25/04/2026: This place is hidden gem. Pizzas and salads were divine ! Staff was so friendly thank you for all , special thank you to “Nur” ( hope this is correct spelling ) she was lovely, warm and friendly. !

01/05/2026: The place is very quiet and beautiful. My meal came so quickly, ~10 minutes and it was served. Great staff with nice people, solid 10/10.

24/04/2026: Booked in a party of 30 on two consecutive days. The food service and atmosphere was excellent. Highly recommend.

24/02/2026: Nice country pub atmosphere with a fire lite stove. The service was professional. I ordered a steak which was overcooked first and was taken back, then it was undercooked on the second attempt. I ended up getting a burger and chips which I wasn’t charged for which I felt was the good way of dealing with the situation.

02/05/2026: Ordered soup of the day to take away. Asked me to call back in 5. Came back to delicious hot tomato and basil soup with 2 big slices of wholemeal brown bread. All for €6. Thankyou 😋

26/12/2025: What can I say about Geary’s. If you’re in the area call in. My partner and myself called in hoping to grab a bite to eat and a drink…. Or 2 and what an enjoyable experience. The food was outstanding. (Steak sandwich to die for ). All the staff were really helpful, polite and so friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening.
