27/10/2025: Absolutely lovely evening spent here. Food was excellent and a very high quality with loads of lovely flavours. The atmosphere was cosy and kind. It was not pretentious at all. The staff went above and beyond to make sure you had everything and enjoyed your evening.

22/03/2026: We had the most fabulous stay at Ahernes in Youghal. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was wonderfully personable — the kind that makes you feel genuinely cared for and welcome. We chose the tasting menu and it was exceptional: generous portions, beautifully prepared dishes, and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Ann looked after us throughout the evening and she was absolutely wonderful — attentive, warm, and so lovely. Breakfast was superb, the perfect finish to our stay. David and Gaye are such warm, welcoming hosts; you can feel the pride and heart they put into everything.

07/03/2026: Just had a lovely stay here. Seafood was amazing, service is so friendly and I love the old school ease with which everything was done. Breakfast also superb. Room was big and clean. Carpark round the back, great pub 2 doors down (Berties). The owners love what they do and it shows..

21/02/2026: The location of this pub is great as long as you're ok with parking on a tight road! Great accomodating service and can get quite busy as it is very popular, particularly when the weather is good and you can take in its surroundings.

23/03/2026: We held another small family function with 17 in attendance at the West Cork Hotel on Saturday 21st March. As usual fine food and plenty of it with Excellent service. Thank you to Aidan who took the booking, to Annmarie who stopped by to say Hello and to the staff who served the meal especially the wonderful lady, whose name I don't know, who was able to elegantly carry four plates at once and was so helpful and efficient.

26/03/2026: I stood at the door waiting to be seated for about 5 minutes where 2 waitresses walked passed me twice and completely ignored me. I decided to just take a seat myself because the place wasn’t that busy and there was plenty of seats. Sat for 10 minutes waiting to order and was completely ignored again. In the end I just walked out. Absolutely terrible service and won’t be going back ever again

29/08/2025: Fields have put a lot of money bringing their shop up to the standards of the 21st century. Unfortunately, they didn't use the opportunity to bring the standards of their toilets up too. No wheelchair accessible toilets. No excuse in this day and age especially as they are running an in-house cafe. The cafe leaves a lot to be desired. The coffee is awful, food is mediocre and the tables not very clean. UPDATE Fields had a single bathroom downstairs which they had allocated to the elderly. However, they have since taken down that sign and replaced it with a free for all. There is no sign to tell able-bodied customers to use the ample toilet facilities upstairs. Now there is often a queue for their single toilet downstairs. Had they put any thought into the design or had any consideration for the disabled they could have easily made the downstairs wheelchair-friendly and solved a number of issues. They do advertise that their car park has wheelchair accessible spaces. There are not enough of these and cars and delivery lorrie’s are constantly blocking the ramps. Wake up Fields!!

02/04/2026: We were passing and one of the girls said that they stopped here years ago and that it was good. So after a short wall and photo stop at the entrance of golf club in we went. The place was absolutely spotless and a lovely glowing fire throwing out heat. The manager was polite and friendly informative and not pushy! Service was great and the coffee as the food was spot on. Only 2 options for small people. The soup was really flavoursome. Great stop highly recommended

25/01/2026: A great place, the prices are very good and the food is great too. The waitresses are very attentive and friendly, checking if everything was alright or if we needed anything. We had a very good breakfast; the portions are quite large, and some options even include coffee and tea, also in generous amounts. We will definitely return. 24/02/2026: Nice country pub atmosphere with a fire lite stove. The service was professional. I ordered a steak which was overcooked first and was taken back, then it was undercooked on the second attempt. I ended up getting a burger and chips which I wasn’t charged for which I felt was the good way of dealing with the situation.

20/03/2026: Such a lovely spot for food.The hosts were very welcoming and even on a busy Mothers day, we were seated and looked after promptly. Sunday carvery lunch was absolutely lovely, big plates and very reasonably priced.

17/02/2026: Popped in here for a pint as Ma Murphy`s is an institution in these parts. Cosy pub full of character and characters and a a very decent pint too.

02/04/2026: Five stars well deserved, excellent food and super friendly staff, most important they are listening customers. Must try best sausage rolls in town, and chicken chorizo toasted sandwich it should be awarded to the sandwich of the year.

09/03/2026: Wow. I wish Dublin had more sandwich shops of this calibre. I ordered the chicken avocado sandwich, but toasted, even though they say it’s best eaten cold. It was sensational! The bread was light and crunchy, with a beautiful texture. The filling was melted, a bit creamy, so delicious, and warm all the way through. It was generously portioned but not overly large. They obviously really care about their sandwiches and the quality of their ingredients. It was a minor triumph. The other sandwiches, with melted cheese, beef, etc., also looked so tasty. The staff were lovely too, and all for about 8 euro! Bargain! Great job, guys. Bravo!
