25/08/2025: This pub has rustic charm. Friendly waitresses. We had the beef & beamish stew & roast beef rib special. Good portion sizes & both were absolutely delicious. Great home-cooked food! Definitely recommend.

27/07/2025: Fabulous hotel..5 star treatment from the start..friendly and welcoming at reception..beautifully decorated rooms..amazing food especially in the Gulfstream restaurant and the views and beaches on the hotel doorstep simply are stunning. Will definitely be returning 😊

23/08/2025: Really enjoyed the homemade lasagna. Kids cleared their plates! Friendly staff, but it's the little things that matter. Arrived quite early but we're still accommodated...plastic cups for kids (not a lot restaurants have them) so a proper kid friendly restaurant...great 90's playlist in the background and when I asked for a pint glass of Coke...I got a pint glass!

19/08/2025: We had lunch here after taking Barry Molone's walking tour. Very friendly family-run pub. Excellent espresso martini for the wife; excellent whiskey cocktail for myself. I did not like my seafood pie, but that's on me for choosing it. It was well made, it's just not something I would like, and now I know. The other food looked great. I had a couple of the wife's chips; excellent.

02/06/2025: Friendly staff and lovely food topped off an exceptionally good dining experience. The crab salad starter was delicious. Main course was gorgeous and the desert was delicious. Wine list was short but nicely balanced with good value options. It is an absolute exemplar of how people can deliver great customer service by keeping the basics right.

09/06/2025: Only available for a tour of the house. Beautiful grounds, very well-maintained garden. The house is clearly in need of renovation, but that doesn't detract from its charm. Unfortunately, no photos allowed inside.

07/09/2025: Group of 4 stayed here for 1 night whilst travelling the south of Ireland. While the accommodation itself was lovely, location perfect and the food in restaurant was quite good there were a few incidents that left a bad taste. Upon check in, the member of staff was rude towards us, looking us up and down, we had paid in advance for our stay and also emailed over a list of the names of everybody staying in the accommodation due to their request about 2 weeks prior to checking in. The staff member in question proceeded to ask me (I had booked the accommodation) to write down everybodies names in front of her, and give my card details again (in case of any damages). Her manner was rude, curt & dismissive. Not how I have ever been treated upon check in. We were shown to our room and advised on a few basics. We had just been sea swimming so all 4 of us needed showers, after 1 person had a shower all the hot water had gone. Cold showers were had for the other 3 guests. The next morning we showered before check out, and there was no hot water at all. We spoke to a member of staff at reception, and a maintenance man came to the room to advise that the element had gone in the immersion. We went back to reception and they offered us to use the showers in the leisure centre, and that we could extend our check out to a certain extent. The staff members had changed the following morning and were more pleasant & apologetic than the lady who had checked us in the day before. We appreciated the gesture of letting use the leisure centre, and the apology, but the tone we were greeted with needs improvement. Wouldn't turn me off booking again as we have family in Schull, but they need to improve service.

31/08/2025: Live music, great drinks. And delicious food from next door at Fisk. Atmosphere was really lovely. Staff were extra friendly too. Had the cod tacos and udon noodles would recommend!

10/09/2025: We stopped here with friends. We tried the creamy seafood chowder, lamb stew, haddock and chips and buffalo burger. We enjoyed everything and I can only recommend it.

15/08/2025: Food was awful, I ordered a medium steak and I was brought a well cooked steak instead, my partner ordered a prawn tagliatelle dish which had about 5 small prawns in it. Menu options were very limited. I added a request to my booking saying it was my partners birthday, which was completely ignored, I wanted to surprise her with a little birthday desert or something similar. Staff was great, very friendly, very accommodating, very understanding. It was very loud inside the restaurant itself, very hard to talk to or hear the other person.

14/08/2025: The Oar Bar is an absolute gem in Cork. The location is simply amazing, with beautiful views right onto the port. The food was absolutely exquisite, every dish was a delight, clearly made with high-quality ingredients and a lot of care. The service was equally impressive; very attentive and welcoming without being overbearing. It's the perfect spot for a memorable meal with great scenery. I can't recommend it enough

04/08/2025: There was a little bit of a wait to get a seat,obviously high demand, but it made absolute sense for a gorgeous day on a bank holiday weekend. The staff were incredible, tenantative and it felt luxurious. You were always taken care of. The food was fresh and tasty, I had the fried haddock! Dessert was a great addition to the end.

25/08/2025: Went in there for a drink and was told ,this is a restaurant and didn't serve drink and go to a pub if we wanted to drink, Absolute horrible bartender or whatever he was
