18/05/2025: Absolutely terrible experience – avoid at all costs! We waited over 40 minutes for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was a complete disaster. The portions were tiny, the presentation was sloppy, and the taste was honestly awful – like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Nothing was fresh, and it felt like zero effort was put into anything. The service was just as disappointing – slow, inattentive, and no one seemed to care that we were waiting forever. If you’re looking to waste time and money and leave hungry and frustrated, this is the place for you. Never coming back.

Ambience & Space: This place is truly unique—spacious, eclectic, and unforgettable. It offers both indoor and semi-outdoor seating areas, with quirky elements like Viking-style tables, vintage leather sofas, and even an actual bed you can relax on. The design blends various old-school styles to create a cozy, relaxing, and Instagram-worthy experience. There are heaters and fireplaces for colder days, and the overall vibe is perfect for couples, groups, or solo visitors looking to unwind. Low music and a laid-back atmosphere make it ideal for real conversation and chill time. Cleanliness: Indoors, the restaurant is very clean—spotless tables, dishes, and floors. The bathrooms are also clean. The outdoor seating area has a more rustic charm: a bit dusty and with signs of wear like pet hair or sofa cracks, but it all feels intentional and fitting with the laid-back, pet-friendly vibe. The tiramisu was one of the best I’ve had, and the drinks were flavorful and served at perfect temperatures. Gluten-free options and clear allergy information are also available. Staff & Service: Professional, attentive, and pleasantly hands-off. The staff gives you space to enjoy your time, which is rare and appreciated. Service was timely, friendly, and smooth. Accessibility & Extras: The restaurant is wheelchair- and pet-friendly, and there’s ample space for groups. It’s also a great place to relax for a while—not just eat and go. Final Thoughts: This place gave me such a great vibe that I want to make it my regular spot—a real patogh. It’s a cozy, unique gem by the sea with character, comfort, and quality all wrapped into one. 100% recommend and definitely returning.

05/04/2025: Great food, great view of the lake and exceptional service by Stanko. Would recommend the duck, white chocolate caramel and mandarin spheres. Nice bar for drinks after dinner too. Thank you.

06/05/2025: Service was very poor here by management - we had an issue with our meal - a fly crawled out of the salad and onto the fish. We reported it to the trainee waitress who took it away back to the kitchen and did not return to our table once to apologise or anything and completly ignored us after. They must have sprayed fly spray as there was another dead fly on the table. When we requested the bill from another waitress the fish was still on it and I explained the situation again and she said she would let a manager know. The fish was removed from the bill but we felt they didnt believe that the fly was in the food even though the trainee waitress saw it and carried it still on the plate crawling back to the kitchen!!! Management should have came and apologised and we tried to get their attention times but were ignored - very poor service for the price. Will not be returning.

19/01/2025: Como siempre, un servicio absolutamente fabuloso. Teníamos una mesa junto al fuego. El gerente y el personal eran muy atentos. Muy razonable precio y excelente comida. Definitivamente vale la pena.

08/04/2025: We went for dinner here on Sunday and to say the food was shocking is an understatement when I sent my dinner back I was told very rudely by a staff member our chef is under pressure I also noticed we weren't the only table to send back dinners that we waited over an hour for I won't be returning

05/04/2025: I recently attended a dinner dance in the Upton Court. I just want to say it was a fantastic enjoyable evening! The food was amazing and the staff were very welcoming. I’ll definitely come again and recommend to friends

16/03/2025: Like all other fast food outlets there's a cold atmosphere and not really inviting. You wouldn't feel like lingering on a while once you have eaten. Staff are friendly mostly and serve your order as soon as they can. The portions have become smaller than they used to be but the prices have gone up a good bit we find this to be the norm at all fast food outlets and not just this particular outlet. There is no value for what you have to pay in any fast food outlet these days. Their chicken breast burger is lovely but the portion of chips given is disappointing.

12/05/2025: Has the appearance of a place that has seen better days. I booked dinner on the basis of its perceived reputation. There with my partner for a 6.30pm reservation on Sunday. First alarm was that there was only one other couple dining. The Vol au vont starter came with a strange brown sauce/gravy which appeared to cover up a stale pastry. The "famous" fish pie was bland and tasteless. Most off -putting was the fact that we were sitting at the window table and the net curtain on said window was long overdue a wash!

14/05/2025: I don't usually give a bad review to any place I go but sorry they really need to work a little. I visited it twice and for the first time they offered me a non vegetarian pizza even after I complained repeatedly. Secondly, when I went there was a lot of crowd so we decided to go upstairs but I realised there were no people upstairs because the dining tables were full of mess.

19/05/2025: A fantastic place for some comfortable relaxation with family or friends. Restaurant has a great menu, coffee dock has similar but catering for kids more. Highly recommended accommodation

11/05/2025: Good services for motorhomes and caravans. WiFi is very good. Safes can be rented. But showers are not enough for the size of the place☝🏻! What's also really annoying - especially when you're tired and want to sleep - the rest times are not adhered to, not even close 😩🥱🙈. Anyone who sleeps well or has children is really in good hands here!

08/04/2025: Great atmosphere. Julie mcCabe sings here on Monday nights 7 -10pm and she is absolutely brilliant. Everyone is welcome to sing and Julie gives great support. Always a great night. Spin the wheel is great fun too. 😀

This restaurant runs like a well oiled machine that produces HOT food served to you practically immediately. All members of staff serve and clean as they go ensuring that you the customer is happy in situ.

24/02/2025: Ordering from the mill grill was very handy but as an ongoing problem now with late deliverys and when it does come its cold even last night I ordered a takeaway at 8.15 was told as usual 40 to 45 minutes 9.40 and it still hadn't arrived rang was told it's on the way I said no thanks I get a refund and cancelled it knowing when it did arrive it would be frozen and the chips soggie l definently would be ordering from there again it's a shame when Sam Kingston and his daughter ran it it was absolutely delicious just to and I went in this evening for my refund and the attitude of the girl I was taking was very unprofessional I was told we usually don't delivery to that area bull we are getting a takeaway there for years she said we had a new delivery driver ya he had my eircode he didn't know where to go bull an absolute disgrace it's a pity to have staff that shrug their shoulders when you tell them you won't be ordering from them again I also got in contact with just eat

08/04/2025: I have the best time in supermacs, especially after a night out. A man named Armando works in this restaurant and he is a gent. He sorts you out whenever you need it and he is quick with his work. Every time i come in to this restaurant i expect to be fed and the food is beautiful. A large portion is actually a large portion and not a smaller portion. You get what you ask for and it unreal. Before i finish, i just want to let you know, Armando that works in supermacs is a man that will always approach you with a smile and is always interested with any news on a night out. Great man and I hope he is successful. Godbless
