24/07/2025: I recently stayed at this hotel, and I have to say, the staff was a major letdown. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was bothering them. The front desk staff (Martha) seemed uninterested and gave off the vibe that they'd rather be anywhere else. Throughout my stay, I encountered similar attitudes from other staff members. Requests were met with delays, and it felt like pulling teeth to get any kind of assistance. It's a shame because the hotel itself had potential, but the poor service really dragged down the whole experience. I won't be returning, and I'd advise others to consider other options where the staff actually cares about their guests. We had tried to complain to the manager Joe about the attitude of his staff, he told us “customers like you are not worth being customers”.

17/03/2026: If I could, I'd give zero stars! After waiting for over an hour, the food hadn't arrived. The number on Lieferando was incorrect, so we called the number listed in the legal notice. The restaurant owner was incredibly rude and didn't even know what was going on with the order. We told him to cancel it, as he didn't know how much longer it would take. He said that wasn't possible. Without informing us, he told the driver not to deliver (he told us this when we called again). However, the order on Lieferando wasn't canceled, so the money was still taken. Furthermore, he lied to Lieferando, claiming the food had been delivered, so we'll never get our money back. I've rarely experienced such rudeness. I wouldn't even advise my enemy to eat there. The owner doesn't deserve that.

17/03/2026: Don't order from here! We ordered through Lieferando. After 90 minutes, the food still hadn't arrived. We canceled the order by phone with the incredibly unfriendly owner, but instead of a cancellation confirmation and a refund, Lieferando says it was delivered. The order never arrived! I will definitely demand a refund. Incredibly unprofessional.

28/02/2026: On the evening of 27 February 2026, at around 6:26 PM, I entered McDonald’s Dún Laoghaire intending to order food. I sat down at one of many empty tables while waiting for my wife, who was about 5 minutes away. We had spoken on the phone and planned to order together before going to the cinema. Within literally a few seconds of sitting down (no more than 3 seconds), a security guard wearing an RFC security badge approached me in a very aggressive manner and told me that if I didn’t order immediately, I had to leave. I initially thought I had misunderstood, so I asked him to repeat what he meant. He repeated it in a confrontational tone: either order right away or leave. I calmly explained that I was about to order, but I was simply waiting for my wife who would arrive within minutes. Despite this clear explanation, he continued to behave aggressively and dismissively. I then went to the counter and asked to speak with a manager. The McDonald’s staff were polite and professional — a supervisor came over and appeared surprised by what happened, and I was told the guard should not have acted like that. However, the guard continued staring at me in an intimidating way. By the time my wife arrived, we already felt very uncomfortable and decided to leave without ordering anything. As we were leaving, the situation escalated further. The guard made direct verbal threats, stating that in a physical confrontation he could seriously harm or even kill me. This was shocking and completely unacceptable in a family restaurant environment. Shortly after, he appeared to be arguing with another customer as well. This behaviour raises serious concerns. Security staff are supposed to make customers feel safe, not intimidated or threatened. Someone who speaks so casually about violence is not suitable for a public-facing security role, especially in a place visited by families and children. For identification purposes: the guard was of average height, bald, dark-skinned, and wearing an RFC security badge. This was a deeply upsetting experience. Until this matter is properly addressed and I receive a response, my wife and I will not be returning to McDonald’s Dún Laoghaire. I hope both McDonald’s management and the security company investigate this situation seriously. Kind regards Lucian

23/09/2025: Usual chain style cafe with the standard coffee options and pastries/toasties Large outdoor seating area. At corner of a shopping centre carpark and is reasonably quiet give ease of parking near entrance.
