The best restaurants

06/10/2024: A local recommend this pub to us as we were travelling and just passing through the town. It was the best food we ate out in the 2 weeks we were travelling in south Ireland. Food was exceptional. Fresh, fast and hot. We had Vol au Vents and wraps. Onion rings were delicious too

16/09/2024: Popped in the anchor and found it to be quite busy, not packed so had a calm atmosphere. The two members of staff who were working there were friendly and polite and a credit to the owners, nothing was too much trouble. Ordered falafel wrap and the Irish burger which were outstanding. Compliments to the chef.

11/08/2024: Food was fantastic but the lady running the place seemed to be in foul humour. She was beyond rude. Her staff were find but not terribly pleasant but that was hardly surprising if the boss was obnoxious to customers I can't imagine she treats staff well. We had booked a table for 6 but when she showed us in she said she was only expecting 5 so we'd have to squash in......the table was ample and had 6 settings. I just put it down to a mix-up. We waited 40mins to order and nobody would take it so one of our party went to the bar to ask if we could order. She was shouted at the they were very busy and there were people ahead of us and we had to wait our turn! Meanwhile the 2 tables who came in after us had already been served there starters!! Very strange behaviour. When the food came (90mins after we were seated) it was absolutely gorgeous, cannot fault the kitchen at all other than the delay. I just put it down to being very busy on a Thurs. As we left the Manager roared something after us about not leaving it 6mths before we visit again!! Literally the weirdest experience I've ever had in a restaurant. Maybe it's one of those places where you pay to get treated badly and roared at and that's what people go there for?? 🤔

06/08/2024: Lovely food and friendly service! Really enjoyed our evening. Lovely atmosphere. Not rushed at all. Gorgeous seafood and good wines. Will be back.

18/11/2024: Perfect place for a traditional Irish Sunday dinner experience, even on a weekday. The menu sticks to classic Irish dishes, which they do well. Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient without feeling rushed. The food arrived quickly, and the beef I ordered was excellent—no complaints at all. I’d definitely come back for another proper Irish Sunday meal.

22/09/2024: Went to lisgrey house for dinner, didn’t even have time to read the menu as I was rushed so I asked what was the vegetarian option. The only vegetarian option was a stir fry which consisted of rice peppers, onions and lumps of parsnip. It was the worst meal I’ve had in a long time absolutely tasteless food. This stir fry cost €18 I observed a waiter being very rule to two elderly gentleman, I later learned that he was the owner. Nothing special about this place and definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

15/09/2024: Bueno, Bow Lane. Bow Lane fue muy divertido. El personal increíble tan amable como para drag Queen el éxito de este lugar gran diversión tan amable. Sarah también tan agradable genial. x x ok la comida ok pero justvwhqt necesitas lavar esa bebida no esperes venir aquí para una comida increíble es lo que es. vienes aquí serás alimentado, pero en su mayoría lo pasas muy bien.

08/05/2024: Excellent brunch! The food was delicious and generous portions. A nice mix of drinks and staff were on the ball getting top ups. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. I’d go back again.
