26/11/2024: First time stopping here this evening as I pass it most days coming home. Reading the good reviews said I would give it a go. The reviews were not lying, the food was so good. Place is worth the stop, I will be back for sure

And I have witnessed drugs being served from behind the counter from one of the staff everyone knows who it is, but they’re not tighten the finger but he knows who it is. such disgusting behaviour should not be allowed. first time drinking there and I will be the last would not recommend anyone.

01/08/2025: Would not highly recommend this buyer went with friends for a night out with an experienced a bad role deal shady character is dealing in the parking if you know what I mean and bar staff included not very nice drinks tasted like it was gone off when complained about a pint of Guinness have a lots of salads he started to get a very aggressive so I just bought a new one and the new one was the same my friends talked about the beer afterwards and said the crisp and beer was totally out of date but not a very nice bar too much shady deals going on in the parking if you know what I mean and your mobile phone could go missing as it’s happened to a few people

06/05/2025: Lovely spot, really nice staff and a lovely atmosphere, a bit pricey for one drink though and the matcha wasn’t the best quality (the shade of green in the photo says it all😭)

27/07/2024: One of the last Pizza Huts around. We’re lucky to have it in our community. It makes me very nostalgic, and the food is very nice.

01/08/2023: DON'T ORDER FROM HERE! They are closed down, They didn't do any admin for their site or any 3rd party applications, I put an order in for €50 only to find out they were closed down when the order didn't confirm for 10 minutes. No update to any of their information other than a handwritten sign on the door of the shop. I'm currently talking with the Garda to get this money back to my account as this is effectively fraud. I would advise anyone who's been scammed recently to do the same. (Traducido por Google) ¡NO ORDENES DESDE AQUÍ! 27/07/2025: Below average experience. The food is ok. Portion size is absolutely terrible. Been here a few times but the last time was the final straw. Came here one day when it was busy, was just popping in with 3 friends to get a pint and be ok our way. There was a few people looking for seats so I approached the bar and asked the guy (mid 40’s?) about just sitting at the bar for a pint and he was absolutely foul mannered. He said “why don’t you join the queue like everyone else trying to get a table in here” I love locally and this bar/restaurant is quite close to me, many occasions I choose to go elsewhere for food and drinks. In this day and age that behaviour is unacceptable That episode, along with the overpriced menu and small food portion sizes and that barman’s behaviour ultimately made my decision on the palace. Couple weeks later “the shack” came up in conversation with different friends suggesting places to eat; I shut it down. Funnily enough one of the people in the group said that they ordered food weeks earlier and the same guy was intimidating to her because she didn’t eat her food and was pushing for answers, she was hungover and explained nothing was wrong with it. Won’t be returning, and I’ll be telling others the same story.

18/07/2025: Great atmosphere, delicious food, great drinks, and friendly personable service. Wife and I visited Athlone from the UK and were so glad we came here for lunch, highly recommend.
