The best restaurants

19/08/2025: We recently selected 2small quiches with salad and two Americanos €39!! When I asked to choose my salads, I was told that wasn’t possible, that I would get a selection, most of which was coleslaw which I don’t like. We went to eat outside but the only available table which had not been cleaned since previous diners (other tables were not cleaned either) and in addition there was bird droppings on the table. When we asked a waitress to clean it she returned to the shop and did not return. Meanwhile another waitress arrived with our food. We pointed out the state of the table -she returned to the shop and the original waitress arrived. She cleaned the portion of the table we were using not the complete table!! The food was served in small paper tubs not sufficiently wide enough to use a knife and fork in! This food was totally overpriced at €39. Little wonder the tourist numbers are declining !

13/10/2024: Irresponsible, paid a taxi, came for a sunday breakfast date, on google says open until 5pm, when we arrive, closed!

29/09/2024: You feel at home, everyone is always smiling, the food is distinguished. It's the best place to have a good time.

11/07/2024: This is our 2nd time here this week the atmosphere and drinks/snacks are great. Really good value and my family loved the local pub atmosphere. Everyone knows everyone My daughter asked for extra side with her order and not a problem. Lovely little rural pub with good food. They want to return before they leave next week

31/07/2025: Best roll around clare, munster and ireland. Top notch food and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Would recommend to everyone!

18/09/2025: This is a very small bar with limited sitting. This is for locals only. The bartender was not friendly at all. She made us feel unwelcome that we were not locals. There are larger, friendlier pubs within minutes of this one.

14/05/2025: This is a proper Ballina pub, cosy, as pubs were when I was younger. Great Guinness, poured perfectly, not too cold. Nice folks in there of an older outlook but engaging and friendly. Derek and his wife are no nonsense decent people.

18/04/2025: Pedí fideos de sal y gambas con chile y salsa salteada. Era un fideo impactante. Eran salsa salteada extremadamente seca. Era horrible. La comida estaba realmente fría. Nunca más. En cuanto a las gambas, impactante. Devolví la comida.

27/06/2025: I am a local in Malahide and love to support the numerous and amazing restaurants and businesses in the area. However we ordered a takeaway from The Orchid Restaurant in Malahide this evening and although they use high quality ingredients unfortunately the chef over seasons the food to such an extent it’s almost inedible. Please stop over using salt in your dishes and let the high quality food speak for itself. You would then be a 10 out of 10 restaurant.
