16/03/2026: We were standing in front of the reception, and one guy in green hoodie treat us as air and does not answer after we said hello multiple times. Can’t believe what happened

22/06/2026: I had ge worst possible experience. Order delivery thru Just Eat, order no. 156961760. It took them 95 minutes to deliver food. On delivery, food was cold, greasy and totally unsafe to consume. Lowest experience ever, I'm bringing this to Food Safety Authority attention.

04/03/2025: Terrible, I ordered a lamb kebab with only lettuce and garlic sauce, I talked three times to the attendant, and he in front of me told the boy, and even so they gave me a kebab with all the ingredients, a lot of incompetence. I don't recommend it.

11/02/2025: Good fried chicken restaurant. Alternative for KFC. I would say better than KFC. Unfortunately last time I went to this restaurant they stopped Chicking. Now as an alternative they started pizza and shawarma. And also they sell South Indian dishes. South Indian dishes are the best. Need to try.

28/01/2026: The owner and the waitress are very friendly; we even chatted for a while. It's not a very big or busy place, but that's exactly what we were looking for, so we went for lunch around 4:00 PM. The prices are similar to, or a few euros cheaper than, other restaurants in Limerick (€11.60 per person sharing a drink). They prepare it fresh, and it's a decent portion. I hope you can visit Rome again sometime!

27/07/2025: Below average experience. The food is ok. Portion size is absolutely terrible. Been here a few times but the last time was the final straw. Came here one day when it was busy, was just popping in with 3 friends to get a pint and be ok our way. There was a few people looking for seats so I approached the bar and asked the guy (mid 40’s?) about just sitting at the bar for a pint and he was absolutely foul mannered. He said “why don’t you join the queue like everyone else trying to get a table in here” I love locally and this bar/restaurant is quite close to me, many occasions I choose to go elsewhere for food and drinks. In this day and age that behaviour is unacceptable That episode, along with the overpriced menu and small food portion sizes and that barman’s behaviour ultimately made my decision on the palace. Couple weeks later “the shack” came up in conversation with different friends suggesting places to eat; I shut it down. Funnily enough one of the people in the group said that they ordered food weeks earlier and the same guy was intimidating to her because she didn’t eat her food and was pushing for answers, she was hungover and explained nothing was wrong with it. Won’t be returning, and I’ll be telling others the same story.

18/07/2025: Great atmosphere, delicious food, great drinks, and friendly personable service. Wife and I visited Athlone from the UK and were so glad we came here for lunch, highly recommend.

04/08/2025: Sin duda una bienvenida decepcionante. La anfitriona actuó mal un rigmarole de pedir nuestra confirmación de la reserva mientras que evalúa claramente nuestro atuendo y comportamiento. Para ser honesto, IT era obvio y embarazoso - pobre primera impresión. Luego pasamos por algo similar arriba antes de sentarnos en una mesa situada en un pasillo entre el bar y el exterior. Después de hacer nuestro pedido, pregunté si IT era posible mover mesas antes de que llegara nuestra comida ya que otra había quedado disponible. Afortunadamente, esta solicitud fue atendida, lo que fue genuinamente apreciado. Pedimos cinco platos, 2 cócteles y una copa de vino que estaban bien, pero no fantástico. En general, el bar de la azotea está sobrevalorado, y la hospitalidad es sin disculpas clientelar.

19/07/2025: We arrived as a group of 5, two sober men as they both don’t drink ever and one man in crutches who wasn’t drinking. Greeted by bouncers” I don’t let groups of men in that I don’t know”. Without asking Anthing else we weren’t allowed in. He proceeded to allow a group of 6 men immediately afterwards in with no checks of ID, proceeded by a followings 2 groups. When asked he said “ this is just the rules” with no explanation. It didn’t happen to be that our NORTHERN accent didn’t quite suit his tone, happy to let anyone else in. Overall I can only Describe an experience of sectarianism and pathetic men who have a bitter look on life’s

12/07/2025: Absolute joke of a place don’t let outsiders in bouncers are rude and unprofessional no reason why you can’t come in other sorry no groups even though 3 people went in after we approached bar and there were 3 of us shocking bouncers need a life lesson the tools

06/08/2026: Cannot cannot recommend this place enough coffee is super 👌 scones are fabulous and the price 😀 lol he not charging enough . Go get yourself a coffee ☕️ and cake and relax.

24/05/2025: Plenty of friendly staff in a busy eatery. Hot food ought to be on a hot plate, my chips were cold and my hamburger overdone and the dearest price I have ever paid for a burger in Europe. Onions rings lovely. But overall impression, not interested, just dish it out. Had I been on my own I would have walked out.
