11/05/2025: Went for a family meal about 25 people a launch was book for 2pm and to the minute we were called to the tables it was a set menue the orders were taken prompt and about 7 ,8 minutes the food arrived it was super fresh and very tasty the boss man came around with extras and ensured every body was looked after . Staff were tops understanding there job, they also ensured the evening was spot on even down to getting a jug or extra gravy, and it arrived really quick .Value for money was 10/10 easy parking and loads of TV with the sports on but not also in you face . If in cavan town its local to the big main GAA center/pitch and you will not be disappointed over all one of the best around .

07/09/2025: You can't be there as a single person because they don't serve tables. If you get up to get your order you loose your table!!!?!

04/09/2025: Beautiful matcha, lots of choice and the sweetest servers - super friendly, patient and kind. It’s in Dunnes so it’s pretty bustling/hectic, and it’s a bit stuffy, not my kind of sit in vibe, hence 4/5. Takeout is perfect though!

10/06/2024: Small portion sizes for me, but overall, the food is inexpensive and good. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a nice breakfast/luch place

11/08/2025: I was there Sunday the 10th of August at 8.43am and the gentleman who served me, known as Lee Whelton was a brilliant worker, knows the running of the place and was so very helpful he was a star ⭐️!!

11/02/2026: Chicken Tikka Masala was way too sweet. I could barely eat it. Extremely disappointed. At least the rice was good.

22/11/2025: Waited 20 minutes for a hot chocolate and had to ask twice. Also did not have enough change in the register. The hot Chocolate also tasted like water. Do not go here…

11/09/2024: **addendum** Like the owner says (and must have complained to remove my legitimate review, which was admittedly some time ago, so perhaps they've changed), the type of reimagined Mexican food you get in the states isn't authentic, nor does it claim to be, but when you're getting massive portions at a truck stop a couple hundred miles from Mexico, cooked by 3 generations of Mexican women, and eaten by Mexican truckers, you can be pretty sure the stuff is decent. Plus, you're 99% of the time going to get even more flavorful dishes in the origin country, and good US-Mex is already incredibly tasty, while I just couldn't say the same for what we had here. So while the owner may well be serving authentic Mexican dishes with pomegranate bits, it's just not something I'd go back for, and again, certainly not at this price and more so keeping in mind that Mexico is far from a rich nation with expensive dishes with a pretentious flair. All the same, I wish them the best and hope other patrons do enjoy their food. **/addendum** It was okay. Not 'authentic', based on my growing up in the US (Tex-Mex, Cali-Mex), so perhaps there are parts of Mexico that have food like this, but I kinda doubt it. It's more Mexican reimagined. Even considering tax and tip, I can get much better fare in the States pretty much anywhere. Service is fine, ambience is good, food presentation is good, and it's the first place I've ever been where there's more guacamole than chips, which is odd, though not 6 Euro odd. While the freshly deep-fried chips are better than out-of-the-bag ones you'd get in most places, I'd rather they be made of corn tortillas instead of flour. Crispy beef tacos look nice, however, they lack punch or depth of flavor, almost as if it had no seasoning, not even salt. This is surprising, given the amount of queso that should be in there. The side of sauce tastes basically like beef drippings and doesn't really add much, either. The fried chicken is vastly different. Again, not a Mex dish I'm familiar with, but it was tasty, with cumin (?) and chilli peppers in the batter. Cheesecake looked better than it tasted. Neither creamy nor dense, it was more like dehydrated curds or something. Passion fruit sauce was nice, but like most everything else, the bulk of the item just wasn't rich. As for the Moonlight Margarita, the big cube of ice is a fancy touch, but it's the first margarita I've ever had that's served with no salt on the rim and a dried lime slice instead of fresh. 3 stars if the price was better.

07/03/2025: Pedido hace más de 90 minutos y la comida no ha aparecido y sus líneas telefónicas ya no funcionan. No es la primera vez que hay problemas. Tuvimos que esperar casi 2 horas en el pasado, ya que "perdieron" nuestro pedido, pero al menos entonces pudimos llamar y comprobar. Absolutamente horrenda atención al cliente. Realmente no se les debería permitir recibir órdenes cuando no hay forma de contactarlos.

04/03/2025: Siempre fabuloso aquí. Suelo pedir vegetariana o samosas y todo está muy bien cocinado fresco y servido con gran amabilidad! Muy recomendable.

10/07/2025: We stopped at this lovely spot on our little road trip around the Atlantic way, it was a brilliant find. It looked so interesting from outside. The purple building with the craft stall, and sign with frieda kahla. We had two dogs with us and we were allowed to sit outside with them. We were welcomed by the lovely owner, who promptly told us there were fresh scones out of the oven and she had made apple and plum cake fresh that day. We were surprised the menu was vegetarian, but it was not a problem. The food was absolutely delicious!! I got the cheese and onion panini and it had mustard and relish and was so delicious. The cake was phenomenal! I also had a mocha. And it was the best I’d had this whole week! The stall out the front sells the owners crafts, there is lovely adult and children’s clothes. I got a dress for my niece and an apron for myself. I can’t wait to go back on our yearly visit to Downings!
