The best restaurants

12/08/2024: Everything needs a makeover. The pool area is full of mold, rust and other substances that do not belong there, the rooms look okay at first glance but are old and dirty if you take a closer look. Avoid looking behind the window shutters in room 15. A Disgusting mix of mold dirt, old wallpaper, insects and other disgusting things. The service in the bar was mediocre and slow the breakfast among the least convincing we have had in three weeks. Even 2 Star guesthouses managed to produce a better breakfast than this.

10/08/2024: To start off the stay, check in was very unprofessional. Check in is at 3pm and we arrived at 3.15pm and waited for 5 mins at reception in front of a sign that read "ring the bell for assistance" with no sign of any bell. There was clearly someone in the office behind with a child, and they didn't acknowledge us. A waitress came over and eventually checked us in. Why is the reception not attended by a receptionist at the time of check in? The whole place absolutely stinks of damp and mold, possibly because the ancient windows are jammed shut and do not appear to open. After 1 pint of Guinness, I asked for a second and was informed the bar had ran out of Guinness. Yes, ran out of Guinness... in Ireland. Very poor bar management. The mattress in room 1 was very uncomfortable. Again, the windows didn't open and the small room became very stuffy. The floors, particularly where breakfast is served, are extremely sticky to the point my flip flop got stuck to the floor as I was walking. It clearly never gets mopped. The breakfast was an absolute disaster. Breakfast starts at 8am, we booked for 9am. Almost every table was dirty and uncleared. There were no bowls for cereal. I asked for a pastry as they were on the breakfast menu, and was told there were none left. So within 1 hour every pastry in the hotel had been eaten. I asked for a cappuccino and was told that would be an extra charge. The breakfast menu has "creamy scrambled egg", however it is clearly microwaved in a massive bowl and chopped up with a knife. It's flavourless and the texture is absolutely disgusting. The place needs to be deep cleaned, aired out and painted. Also, why is nearly every picture on the walls crooked? It seems like nobody takes any pride in the appearance of the place. It's very poor value for money considering a 4 star hotel nearby was only 20 euro more expensive for the night.

26/10/2024: Ordered a birthday cake for my husband and the cake was unbelievable. So delicious and very cheap compared to other bakeries. Will definitely come back.

15/11/2024: Awful Ordered 2 fish and chips it was cod as they did not have any other fish and it was terrible, batter was soggy and parts of fish was undercooked Chips were lovely Will not be back

31/10/2024: Beautiful fresh food.. Service very good. Location perfect. Great selection Food cooked fresh in front of you.. Would highly reccomend this little gem of a place.. Blackwater is a beautiful village in the heart of wexford

16/02/2025: Estuve aquí en la calle San Valentín con la encantadora Úrsula para la cena. Rápidamente nos mostraron a nuestra mesa y nos atendió el super personal, especialmente la encantadora Magdalena que era tan agradable y servicial. La comida era genial, teníamos carne de res que era tan tierno y sabroso! El precio era muy razonable para lo que uno esperaría hoy en día y toda la experiencia fue excelente. Muy recomendable

26/01/2025: Great Irish pub/restaurant, but very cold inside, had my coat on. They didn't seem to put much coal on the open fire, that's a pity, seeing as it was a very cold wintry day.
