The best restaurants

15/03/2026: The pizza from here is lovely! We got the Pinocchio and the Hawaiian. The crust is a perfect thickness and there was a great amount of cheese!

01/08/2026: Went around 4pm on a Saturday so fairly quiet. The staff member (Tyler I believe) was incredibly friendly, patient and kind. Very understanding when my baby got fussy and was very reassuring. They made me, what is by far, the best chai latte I have ever had. The pastries are fresh and delicious! After a particularly difficult day, this experience was a total breath of fresh air. Huge thank you to them, will definitely be back!

23/06/2026: the person behind the counter with the red and dark hair split down the middle was great and super helpful :) the kitchen was closed but they still heated my sausage roll and were really nice

05/10/2024: Hemos estado recibiendo Mango Verde Rathfarnham durante años y Mango Tree como se conocía formalmente. Siempre he encontrado la comida muy buena, pero el servicio es tan decepcionante. Desde que tengo memoria el servicio ha sido inconsistente y horrible a veces. Anoche ordenamos que nos entregaran comida. 1 hora y 20 minutos después mi marido llamó para una ETA. Le aconsejan que el conductor había dado nuestra comida a la casa equivocada y como se habían 'arropado' en nuestra comida tuvieron que volver a hacer nuestro pedido. Mi esposo preguntó por qué, después de 1 hora 20 minutos no recibió una llamada para explicar esto y el miembro del personal dijo que ya nos avisaron (no lo hicimos. ) El miembro del personal se disculpó y se ofreció a poner un crédito en nuestra cuenta, pero de la experiencia anterior llegamos a aprender que estos créditos no son fácilmente canjeables! La comida llegó después de 1 hora 45 y ni siquiera nos dieron una lata gratis por las molestias de todo.

15/04/2026: Lovely little cosy coffee shop on the main street. Free parking right behind. Delicious coffee on a par with the best. Good selection of pastries too. Friendly service with a smile tops off the great coffee spot.

22/12/2025: Best burgers made here! Unbeatable prices. Excellently cooked meats and fresh vegetables, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!

24/12/2024: I had high expectations for Cabra Castle, but my visit on Sunday was ruined by a staff member at the entrance to the Derby bar. She was rude and dismissive. From the moment we interacted, her attitude was unwelcoming and snooty. She was abrupt and made no effort to accommodate our needs. We felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave. For a place with such a great reputation, this was incredibly disappointing. Hospitality should be at the heart of any visit, and unfortunately, this experience fell far short. I hope management addresses this issue with her so others don’t have a similar experience. Perhaps she needs to brush up on her hospitality skills or consider a career change. She was more interested in her red lipstick than she was in valuable longstanding loyal returning guests. We had our wedding there in 2008 and we were so shocked at her attitude towards us. She is a liability for Cabra Castle rather than a valuable asset. Avoid at all costs. We certainly won't be back.

18/08/2024: We had amazing waitress Marta who looked after us. She is very nice and friendly. We enjoyed talking with her. Good choice of food, big portions. I could give 5 stars unfortunately this place was full at the beginning and we spend 2 hours walking around the hotel before we could get in. There are other areas in the hotel with bar which should be opened for guests so they could enjoy time there. Or at least there should be some lounge area where people’s could get a coffee and sit on couch and relax- we’ve seen some places like that but we had no idea if we could even sit there. Thanks to Marta our bad first impression have changed.

10/06/2026: I’m usually far too lazy to leave reviews, but this experience earned one. We’re members of the hotel swimming club and stopped by for dinner after a swim. It happened to be my husband’s birthday, so I politely asked if we could have a nice table by the window. The welcome was: “If you wanted a better table, you should have booked in advance.” Strong opening act. The restaurant was nearly empty, but we stayed. In hindsight, that was our second mistake. The only star goes to the view, which is absolutely spectacular. Food-wise: the chowder tasted like the fish had given up days ago, the mussels came in a mysterious milky sauce without any taste, the beef was decent, and the seafood tagliatelle was the real masterpiece—overcooked pasta swimming in what looked and taste suspiciously like recycled chowder. I’ve attached a photo of the almost untouched plate. To be fair, the waiter offered to remake it, but by then we just wanted the bill and an escape route. What puzzles me is how a hotel in such a stunning location, with such incredible views, good table service, can make food this poor and seem perfectly okay with it. My advice: enjoy the scenery, then spend 15 minutes getting to The Bulman or take a taxi into town and visit ANY pub. Your taste buds will thank you.

15/03/2026: Had a Mother's Day lunch special here today and the whole experience was subpar from start to end (probably my worst meal out in a very long time!). The three courses were extremely disappointing, were served luke-warm and as though they had been cooked earlier in the day, just waiting to be handed out as people were sat at their tables (we were served our starters within minutes of placing our order....). Unfortunately, nothing tasted freshly prepared or even presented in a nice manner - for the price point being charged, we were expecting a higher standard and were disappointed to receive a below average meal and service. Would not recommend!
