31/10/2024: Nice food but don’t believe the out of date menu prices on the website. Manager laughed when I pointed it out and apologised they were too busy to update the website!

30/03/2025: A couple we ran into down the street recommended this restaurant for our family. This was the best restaurant by far that we have been to this trip! Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

23/02/2025: Cogan' s was recommended by the bar man in O'Loughlins. He was spot on. A warm welcome, good choice on menu. Food was good and priced fairly. We will be back when we visit Co. Clare again

10/05/2025: Excellent food and staff. We couldn't wait to try this place. The waiter took the time to have the craic with the young lad in our group. We were not rushed out after the meal either. Oh there is no parking ( only downside)

02/06/2025: A pub we stopped at on the way to the cliffs, it really catches your eye thanks to its classic, well-kept exterior and the many awards displayed outside. Prices are slightly above average (fish and chips €22, pizza €17), but the portions make it worth it—we shared one fish and chips between two people. We also ordered a lamb shank, which was amazing—the meat melted in the mouth—and a tomato soup, which I was told was very good. Given the location so close to the sea, I expected a wider selection of seafood, but there were only about three options. Overall, a positive experience.

11/05/2025: Really 5 stars all around. We had a small birthday party in the glass room and the food was unreal, atmosphere was great and the staff very nice. Eimear in particular looked after us for the night and was really great in helping me out with the cake and making sure we had everything we need.

16/05/2025: Trad session on on a Thursday night. Ot a big crowd so plenty of seats available. Music was OK but it gets repetitive and really needs some singing to lift it. But I suppose the musicians were happy

02/05/2025: We had a wonderful, 2 night, stay at Keenans in April 2025. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean. The breakfast buffet was delicious and included made to order food as well. The bar and restaraunt had delicious food and a good variety of drinks.The manager went above and beyond in giving suggestions to my husband in his genealogy research. Would definitely stay there again.

04/05/2025: They had Gluten Free cake! Specified as being GF ingredients made in a non-GF kitchen. Staff were sound, accommodated kids with a high chair, they took our buggy off to the side somewhere, made it easy for us. Nice one.

28/04/2025: Delicious, freshly cooked food - made to order. Menu has something for everyone. The meat is excellent quality. The coffee is hot and generous. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Really good value. A real gem in Athenry.

08/05/2025: Disappointing Carvery beef presented well , but some meat was very tough, that was in it, Yorkshire pudding cremated, roast potatoes definitely cooked in fryer not sure about duck fat, had to ask for soup on the roast of day sandwich, whelich was not sour dough as advertised, if I'm honest it's not busy now, and nobody came near us ask how it was, Would I come again not for the Roasts sorry.

15/04/2025: Lovely atmosphere. Quality of the ingredients was high and the food was tasty. Unfortunately though, 3 of us felt that our meals were quite small. Mentioned it to staff (who are very nice to be fair) and was simply told "sorry about that. Unfortunately though, it's not a nice experience to leave a restaurant hungry after paying around the €30 mark for a plate of food, hence the 3 star review. Had the pork tomahawk, salmon and duck.

23/03/2025: Took a chance on a free table on a very busy St Patrick's day at the Vanilla Pod. We received a friendly welcome, were seated immediately and orders taken promptly. I enjoyed the goats cheese and peach tartlet and my friend had the steamed asion inspired pancakes. While the pancakes did arrive in a steamer they were not warm and the separate dish for the filling was a surprise. Main course was salmon and slow cooked beef, both of which were very flavourful and filling. Another surprise was the shared 'deconstructed' hazelnut meringue desert. We expected a roulade type meringue! Overall a very tasty and enjoyable meal. The only thing which we found strange was that the hanging area for coats (which were kindly taken as we were seated) was in a public area outside the toilets, so maybe not a secure place 🤔 .

18/05/2025: Stopped in for lunch. Pretty view. Fantastic food! I had the seared scallops with saffron risotto. Maybe the best risotto I’ve ever had! The scallops were served with their roe intact. I’ve never seen them served that way. They were delicious!
