23/09/2025: Stopped in for lunch. Fantastic fish & chips. Absolutely the best we have had in Ireland so far. Friendly staff. Worth a stop for sure.

07/02/2026: Generally really good place, the food and service were superb, the food was brought very quickly and tasted really good, the Guinness was amazing as always, the only thing we didn’t like was a smell in that corner where we were sitting, smelled a little weird.

28/02/2026: Went for lunch and it was OK. Good size burger but dry with skinny fries 15€, fish and chips also 15€, lighting was too low for eating day time, felt like midnight in the eating area.

12/12/2025: Four of us had food here the other day.I really enjoyed my trio of fish.It was so fresh.The others thought the food was just ok,except the chowder which was described as poor. At the end of the night I asked the barman for a lge bottle of white lemonade.It cost €5 for a 1.25 litre.I thought this was a bit dear and he said well I can always keep it and make even more money selling dashes(I thought that was a little smart)Apart from him the staff were really nice.All the girls serving behind the bar and serving the tables were really good,made sure you were looked after and checked if you needed anything.They were also helpful in telling me about the area. Next day Because of the barman and the quality of the food we had something to eat elsewhere.While the same price,the food was much better.The place is fine for a pint and a chat with the staff(the friendly ones) but Im sorry we forked out over €200 for food and drinks when we would have gotten better nearby.

26/02/2026: Very good food and great setting. Food is some of the best in Castlebar with a price to match but it’s worth it for sure. Staff are very good and attentive and you feel valued by them. One minor suggestion I would have for the owners is to change the had dryer in the bathroom to paper towels. Hand dryers aren’t that hygienic and the restaurant would benefit from an upgrade

12/02/2026: Ate here with 2 work colleagues on a stayover in Waterford and it was the perfect place to eat after a long day working together. We ate local scallops to start, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! Mains were shin of beef and the Wicklow venison, all dishes well cooked with smooth and tasty mash! Desert was a delice, the thick and crunchy dark chocolate ganache, this could have done with a bit more ice cream as it was a healthy portion. Service generally good, even with a large group downstairs the team managed to get our meals out relatively quickly. Atmosphere was OK, not quite sure how this could be improved on due to the layout of the restaurant. I would definitely return to Everett's when working in Waterford again!

19/02/2026: We recently visited McGeoughs Bar & Restaurant as a group of four, and we all left completely satisfied. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a great balance of lively energy and comfort. The food was excellent across the board, every dish was full of flavour, well presented, and served hot and fresh. It’s always a good sign when everyone at the table is happy with their choice, and that was definitely the case for us. And also the cocktails and drinks were really great. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Service was smooth and efficient, even though the place was busy. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily recommend McGeoughs to anyone looking for great food and an enjoyable dining experience in Dundalk. We’ll definitely be back!
