09/08/2025: My wife and I called in to Murphys while out for a drive in Cavan.My God were we glad we stopped.From the moment we steped inside the door we were greeted with smiles and the staff were unbelievable.The food was out of this world.The owner came to our table and we had a lovely chat about the history of his business.The pub itself was beautiful and it was immaculate.Cant recommend it enough.

24/06/2025: Group of 6 and we all really enjoyed our meals. Large portions all freshly cooked and great service. Had to ask for the vegetarian menu but a good selection on this.

29/07/2025: Sleep like a baby on clouds... when the clouds are made of quicksand The hotel itself makes a decent impression – a friendly welcome, a really good and plentiful breakfast, coffee strong enough to wake the dead (in a good way). But then came the room... and most importantly: the bed. The duvet was less of a blanket than an exercise machine. Anyone who pulls it over themselves at night should be prepared to lose at least 3 liters of sweat the next morning – not because of bad air, but because this blanket is so heavy you could open a sauna underneath it. I briefly considered donating it to the Alps as a mobile avalanche. The mattress? Well... it reminded me of quicksand. You sink at least 40 cm – no matter where you sit down. I lost my wife during the night and only found her again under the fold of the bed when I checked out. If you like adventurous travel, just climb into bed and see what happens. But to be fair: The breakfast was excellent, the staff friendly, and everything clean. However, if you value a restful sleep, you might want to do some strength training beforehand—or bring a rope to anchor yourself in bed.

11/10/2025: Had dinner there yesterday ,and honestly it was amazing. Staff was lovely ,always making sure that we are ok. I definitely recommend this restaurant as we do not have many great places like the overdraught in area:)

04/10/2025: My wife and I just had a great meal at lunchtime today. We shared crab claws in chilli and ginger to start then she had pulled beef and I had seafood pie. The quality was fantastic, the portions were huge and the prices are very reasonable. Great service too. My only minor comment was that the crab claws may have been better in garlic butter but that is just our preference. Anyway we didn't really need a starter as we couldn't manage all the main meal or finish the fabulous home baked bread. Shame on us for forgetting to tip (sorry!) . We will definitely go there again and will remember next time.

08/10/2025: We had a really lovely evening here. A fairly large, not too crowded pub with live music. The staff were friendly, and the food was delicious.

06/10/2025: It was my last night in Ireland and my first time trying Seafood Chowder... absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and typically Irish!

24/08/2025: So good we drove across from Dublin. Twice! Sunday lunch was really good - roast lamb, pork, beef with properly cooked accompaniments - wholesome comfort food. No frills, just really tasty. Full credit to the chefs. Beers were good. Dessert was very good too! The floor and bar staff are lovely: welcoming, polite, very presentable and help build a super relaxed environment: attentive and professional. Pricing is correct. Highly recommended.

17/09/2025: This is an absolute gem of a hotel. We were doing a road trip through Ireland and had to stop for a night due to change of plans. Killeen house was just few minutes out of Killarney and could adjust us while most hotels were sold out due to bank holiday. Picturesque and quiet location with great rustic charm. Rooms were very clean, tastefully updated and decent sized. Absolutely the BEST staff and service that can compete squarely with any world class hotel. Breakfast was cooked on order and truly delightful. There is nothing we could wish better for. If only we could stay longer….highly recommended if you are in the area.

07/09/2025: This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Just outside of Killarney, getting both downtown and into the surrounding nature is an absolute breeze if you've rented a car. The room we stayed in was adorable with a super comfortable bed. Their new addition (rooms 401+) has AC, which is a nice bonus, and a great view of the mountains. Breakfast requires a reservation, and is actually incredibly good. Best hotel breakfast we had the entire trip, and their berry tea was fantastic. Cannot recommend highly enough.

19/08/2025: Everything was amazing. The views are unreal. The food is phenomenal. I had the carrot and parsnip soup with homemade brown bread and then the fish on a bed of lentils for main. An-bhlasta ar fad!

24/09/2025: What can I say. Saw the great reviews and thought it would be a great experience. I ordered a Burger as people seemed to Rave about them. It was 13.50 for what I can only describe as 2 American style greasy patties of poor quality in a bun with very little to write home about. Suddenly McDonalds and Supermacs seem like gourmet restaurants. The plain chips at 5 Euro were plain but crisp and hot so it's only saving grace. Paid 50c for a pint of Miwadi orange which would be ok if they added a little more orange. SO disappointed with the food after so many good reviews. Certainly one of the poorest experiences I've ever had in Galway.

20/09/2025: Probably the best place in Galway. The sticky chicken was TO DIE FOR and the Brie balls were delicious. The cocktails were super tasty as well. Also, the staff members were really friendly and you didn’t have to wait long to get served. I can really recommend this place.

11/10/2025: Amazing food! Amazing service! The brown bread was so good we had to buy a loaf to take back to the United States with us tomorrow.

16/09/2025: Great location, right in the middle of town. Excellent staff; friendly & helpful. Our room was lovely, overlooking the main street which was very quiet overnight. We enjoyed Sunday lunch & breakfast the following morning; both of which were really good.

21/10/2025: I can recommend the Irish stew. I found it less pricey than other restaurants in the area and the flavour is totally recommendable. The service pays attention and cares for the guests.
