14/08/2025: My family and I were staying here, so we decided to come here for lunch, and we loved it. The dishes were delicious and the portions were generous. We ordered roast beef, salmon and cod, sea bass, and a crispy chicken burger. Everything was delicious, the staff was charming, and the rooms were spacious and clean.

16/08/2025: I was so impressed with the food, prices and service at this spot during our recent visit. We managed to feed 2 adult and 2 kids for just over €20 earlier and not one complaint in the house. While not extensive, the menu contains enough choice to cater for all tastes and price points. The kids enjoyed the chicken goujons and some chips while I opted for the chicken sandwich which was excellent. The restaurant is located on the wuayside almost hidden between the Anchor & the Blue Door. There is a small number of seats inside and some benches outside. Its a casual dining experience so no table service but defo the best chips ive had in a while.

12/07/2025: If you like your beverage and cake together you’d better tell them. We arrived and ordered coffee and cake. Codes delivered obediently and were lovely. But cake was delayed. When I asked I was told that there were two orders ahead of me and I’d have to wait. If I’d known that I wouldn’t have ordered cake. But the cake was there, and it needed the chef to take a knife and cut a slice out of it. That’s all. I offered to do it myself and suggested the waitress do it. But no, I was told the chef was very fussy (that’s fine, it means the food’s lovely) and I’d have to wait. I explained my coffee was cold and nearly gone and she said it would be along soon. All very well the chef being fussy (maybe OCD🤷🏻‍♂️) but I’m fussy too, liking my cake and hot beverage together. Not too much to ask. I’d love to do a 1-2 star review but the food is too good for that and it would be misleading.

11/07/2025: This cozy little café is a worthwhile stop! The pancakes were absolutely delicious—fluffy, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. We also enjoyed a smooth, rich coffee and a fragrant pot of tea. Their pastry selection is impressive too, with everything looking freshly baked and tempting. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a lovely spot to relax and enjoy a treat. Highly recommend for breakfast or a midday break!

18/08/2025: My goodness what an evening of so much noise I couldn't even talk to the person sitting next to me without shouting... That's not the restaurants fault of course but, wow! Then €38 for a very thin, poor quality steak you wouldn't pay €5 for in the butchers. Excellent staff though... absolutely 100% nice n friendly. But I've eaten better & cheaper elsewhere.

29/07/2025: I was very disappointed with the dinner I had in the Granville. Service was extremely slow, had to wait 15 minutes to order while staff stood around and bar was quiet. The staff member who took our order was extremely rude, we weren't told the specials and when I found asked a question, the staff member replied "sure I wouldn't know". My curry was definitely re-heated as there was a skin over it when it came out and the rice was uneatable. It was stuck together and felt it it had been re-heated. Took another 12 minutes to order dessert which was a big let down.

15/07/2025: Gone downhill big time food wise. Had a meal Monday my husband had chicken goujons chicken was sour and burnt I had a warm bacon crispy salad it was far from crispy or fresh very disappointing. I have ate here over the years but will not be going again. It was something similar last time too!!

02/08/2025: Expensive. Grand food, typical pub food, limited enough menu. I live in Dublin, a big capital city. I didn't expect a small country pub to be more expensive than Dublin. I have never seen fish and chips for 24 euro on a pub grub menu!! Everything else 20-22. Food was fine.but really a bit too greedy. Staff pleasant, service ok

25/08/2025: Our experience at this pub was deeply unpleasant from start to finish, and it appears we’re not alone. A review from May describes almost the exact same situation. We sat down at an empty table while one of our group went inside to order drinks. A member of staff came over, and we explained that drinks were being ordered. She told us we might need to order food to use the table but would check and let us know. She returned to confirm that ordering food would indeed be required. We agreed without hesitation and asked for a menu. What happened next was baffling. Instead of a menu, she returned with a reserved sign, placed it on the table, and told us we’d have to leave. When we politely questioned this sudden change, she went to check again. Another young staff member then came over to confirm we had to leave, despite our clear willingness to order food. At this point, we asked if my 89-year-old father could at least remain seated until our drinks arrived. Rather than simply explaining their policy, the staff fetched a manager, who approached us in an aggressive and confrontational manner. He insisted we leave immediately, claiming we were “upsetting” his young, under-18 staff — yet could not explain how. My only “offence” was calmly requesting that my elderly father be allowed to sit for a few minutes till our paid-for drinks arrived, which is hardly unreasonable. The situation escalated entirely because of the manager’s attitude. Instead of de-escalating and handling matters professionally, he became increasingly rude, dismissive, and accusatory. It was an unnecessarily hostile encounter that left a sour taste long before we’d even had a sip of our drinks. We moved, stood with our drinks (which we chose not to finish) and crossed the road to Findlaters, where the staff were everything this place’s team were not: welcoming, friendly, and professional. The contrast could not have been greater. In short: poorly trained staff, inconsistent policies, and a manager whose aggression and lack of professionalism turned a minor issue into a thoroughly unpleasant experience. We will not be returning.

18/08/2025: Outside dirty and unkempt. Staff young and require guidance as to how to welcome and greet customers. Tables dirty. Needs a full refurbishment.

11/08/2025: Didn't stay, stopped in for food, very busy, that always tells a story, took awhile to get seated but worth the wait, food was great, well the bacon and cabbage was anyway as that's what I had. Not the first time I've had good food here either 👍
