07/10/2025: I recently took my Wife to Jim Edwards for lunch on 20th September 2025. From start to finish the experience was fantastic and the quality of both food and service was simply superb. We were staying locally and our hostess informed me that this establishment has been in business for a considerable period, that it is Jim's son who is now in charge and that this pub/restaurant has been operating at a very high level as long as she could remember. Very grateful for a lovely experience and incredible food. Looking forward to visiting again.

02/10/2025: Dropped in for a meal 3 people right from the start it took an age for a waiter to come with the menu order taken twice we had to check where the order was when it eventually arrived it was cold that was the end of the meal we got a small amount of the meal we left disappointed we loved Kinsale

10/11/2025: Lovely Bacon, cabbage and mash potatoes for the traditional stalwarts amongst us:).... Some parsley sauce WOULD have been super 👌

10/11/2025: I have always enjoyed the roast beef dinner at scholars! But yesterday 9/11/25 the dinner wasn't good a cheaper cut of beef , burnt Yorkshire puddings maybe this is down to a change of chef ! Very disappointed I'm a returning customer for many years but time to try somewhere else for carvery

10/11/2025: Good honest food. Good portions and tasty. Nothing too fancy but you won't leave hungry or dissatisfied. Area outside to the front welcomes dogs so we will often eat here after a long cliff walk. Our doggy also enjoys the experience!!!

01/11/2025: Stopped in Vee Cafe for a quick breakfast/brunch during the half term and it was superb. Despite being absolutely rammed the staff were attentive and speedy in taking our order and answering questions. The food itself took time to arrive, understandably given that every table was full once we sat down. We had the peanut butter porridge, a full breakfast, and a half breakfast all of which were excellent verging on perfect I have to say in all aspects: taste, presentation and value.

28/10/2025: Service was very slow. They had no white bread left and the toasted ham and cheese sandwich was also sold out at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Coffee (Americano) was weak and didn't taste good. Pancakes (2 of us ordered the Canadian Stack) tasted like they were made from a mix. Crispy bacon was nice. Maple syrup, good but scarce. We were seated by the door, and it was freezing as it was left open by most people going in and out. I asked if we could be moved as there was a larger table further back. Server said they might need that if a larger group came in, so basically we were less important than customers who hadn't even materialised!! They don't care about repeat custom maybe? We are disappointed as we love going to the Seagull Bakery and wanted to try this place out as its so nearby. We won't be going back.

30/11/2025: Best steak and good value if you choose deal menue on Thursday. Nice atmosphere.

23/11/2025: Terrible experience all round in this establishment. I had booked weeks previously, rang beforehand to request a booth in the front bar area and was assured that we were already assigned this and would not be moved. Arrived on the night and was told it was unavailable despite being able to clearly see a booth in the front bar was available. One of my party queried why we couldn't have the booth. At this point the manager arrived to say the booth was unavailable and would not budge on the matter. I asked if the booth was booked by someone more important than us and the manager said yes that this was the case. We sat in our allocated seat out the back and then decided to leave as we didn't want to spend our money in such an elitist establishment. Such an awful way to run a restaurant. We won't be back and will make sure to tell our friends and families about our experience. The restaurant also cancelled our booking after we left to ensure we couldn't leave a negative review on Open Table.

17/09/2025: This is an absolute gem of a hotel. We were doing a road trip through Ireland and had to stop for a night due to change of plans. Killeen house was just few minutes out of Killarney and could adjust us while most hotels were sold out due to bank holiday. Picturesque and quiet location with great rustic charm. Rooms were very clean, tastefully updated and decent sized. Absolutely the BEST staff and service that can compete squarely with any world class hotel. Breakfast was cooked on order and truly delightful. There is nothing we could wish better for. If only we could stay longer….highly recommended if you are in the area.

07/09/2025: This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Just outside of Killarney, getting both downtown and into the surrounding nature is an absolute breeze if you've rented a car. The room we stayed in was adorable with a super comfortable bed. Their new addition (rooms 401+) has AC, which is a nice bonus, and a great view of the mountains. Breakfast requires a reservation, and is actually incredibly good. Best hotel breakfast we had the entire trip, and their berry tea was fantastic. Cannot recommend highly enough.

03/10/2025: Perfect taste, lovely crew, you need to try traditional Rosół (Polish chicken soup) that will change your life 😉

28/09/2025: It's become a mess, literally a mess. I used to love going there because the food was delicious and worth the price. But recently – a disaster. Three times in a row, that wasn't a coincidence. The broth is water. Tasteless, fatless, like yellow-tinged water with three noodles, and that's it. Pierogi cooked in unsalted water. Bland. You could hear the employees arguing in the back. Food remains on the floor under the tables from previous customers. I'm sorry, but I'm giving up. I'm sorry, but it's become a mess.

27/10/2025: 11/6/25: Great cafe and very welcoming and friendly staff too and where dogs are allowed at the rear under a sheltered roofed area; there are a few other large tables in the yard but these are not protected from the weather.

16/10/2025: Great breakfast today and well priced. Will be back

15/11/2025: Check your credit card statement when you get home as we were double charged for our stay . Nightmare to sort out .

23/10/2025: Absolutely loved this place the first time my wife and I had visited the Dingle Peninsula. Everybody made us feel so welcome. Liz the owner was terrific and helped with places to visit and see, while we riding around on our motorbikes.

12/10/2025: Really enjoyed a family birthday meal here, very attentive and friendly servers, beautiful decor, good food and quite reasonably priced! Would certainly return!

03/11/2025: We eat here a few times each year and always choose the cod and chips. Quite simply it is the best I have ever tasted. The staff are 200% friendly, they love dogs (even give treats) and have a good chat with you. If you are in the area, this is the best place to eat.dawn and Colin Kirk

26/10/2025: The food is delicious. The steak was the nicest cut of meat I’ve had in a restaurant. The sides were all delicious I will be dreaming of the onion rings. The staff were amazing so attentive. Would highly recommend

29/11/2025: Classic old world Irish breakfast place. Somewhat small and cramped but that is remedied by the friendliness of the customers at the other tables. Delicious breakfast served at breakneck speed by smiling, jovial young ladies. Highly recommend!

05/11/2025: We were there on holiday. We had a salami pizza and tortillas with dips, all topped with melted cheese. The tortillas were nice and warm. There were several layers of cheese between the tortillas, and on top were three different dips, two of each in generous portions. It was very plentiful. The salami pizza was well-topped, and the size was excellent for the price. All in all, we were very satisfied.

21/10/2025: We had a great late lunch here. Wish they either had smaller portion plates or allowed sharing.

19/10/2025: A beautiful restaurants and the food was deliciou. Staff were so friendly abd helpful

15/11/2025: Traditional pub with very good food. It was always quite full, but you could still get a seat.

13/11/2025: The food is so lovey the staff are so polite and friendly aways a lovey atmosphere its the best pub in eye square for food and drink
