22/09/2026: Amazing vegan curry and very friendly staff.

21/09/2026: We went here for a late lunch as we saw the stellar reviews online. Plenty of space available when we visited. Food is reasonably priced. I took one of their daily specials, but wasn't really fond of it. Portioning was good. When we asked for the available beers, they only mentioned the draft beers, for which they did not have many options. (We didn't think of bottled beers at the time, but they seemed to have more of those) Overall, I think it's okay and we might have been a bit unlucky, but I would not go out of my way to go here again.

27/09/2026: Beautiful place, super friendly staff and lots of great options to choose from. The 3 course offer is great value if you choose the steak which is made to a really high standard. Definitely recommend

24/09/2026: Only place in Ireland we had to pay for water, be warned. Food was decent. Service was slow and poor, especially with hardly any patrons and more than enough staff.

25/09/2026: Went back to the Dining Room last night for the 4th time. We visit Westport annually from the U.S. and the Dining Room in Castlebar is always a must stop. By far the best dining experience we experience each year. Fantastic food, small but excellent wine list, and well worth the 20 minute drive from Westport. Already planning our return in May.

14/07/2026: What a wonderful evening! My friend from Westport invited me here, and I was genuinely impressed. The food was outstanding from start to finish. I chose the special of the day – halibut with a lobster bisque – and it was absolutely delicious. I especially loved that they even brought me an extra jug of the bisque, which was such a lovely touch. The starter was equally delicious: perfectly cooked scampi served on a fresh salad. The restaurant itself is quite small, which gives it a warm, intimate atmosphere. I felt very comfortable throughout the evening, and the service was friendly and attentive. If I’m back in Castlebar, I will definitely come here again. Highly recommended!

10/10/2026: Top notch experience last Sunday at The Dungeon. We had an amazing dinner in this charming place, where the atmosphere is magic. Excellent food, excellent wine menu and superb service with the beautiful Marianna and her colleagues who looked after us and made us feel special. They made our dinner. We also got the chance to meet again Martin Whyte, one of the best chefs in the world. We travelled from Clare also to meet him. We’re so grateful and will be back soon.

29/08/2026: The Dungeon is another restaurant at Ashford Castle and a completely different experience from the more formal places. It has the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub — very relaxed, cozy and absolutely casual. No need to dress up at all, which is actually very nice for a change. The food was really delicious. We ate very well and the service was excellent too. And of course I have to mention the onion rings — my favourite — they were absolutely excellent! 😄 One important thing: definitely book in advance. The restaurant is quite small and there are not many tables, so it can easily be full. We really enjoyed our dinner here. Simple, cozy, very Irish, great service and very good food. Definitely recommend it during your stay at Ashford Castle! Absolutely worth trying, especially if you want a relaxed and casual evening

17/05/2026: Visited the mustard seed for dinner. Lovely atmosphere. Staff very attentive from the moment we arrived. I enjoyed sitting in the front living room, having a drink before our meal by the fire. Cannot fault the food. All fabulous. Due to high price point (but it is beautiful fine dining) I would personally only visit for a special occasion. I will return for a different special occasion and look forward to trying more items on the menu.

16/09/2026: We had such an incredible experience at the Bailey! We booked for our party of 16 and, from the start, everyone was so kind. Our servers made a special day even more incredible with their kindness and great banter. The food was top notch, including some of the best vegetable soup I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again! Special thanks to Aaron for being an entertaining and attentive waiter!

26/09/2026: Excellent place, very good quality fish and the chips are a real treat, I recommend it, very good place.

22/09/2026: I went there to try the fish and chips. The cola in the picture is very different, I recommend it. It appeals to us, but I can't say it was amazing, but maybe it's because we come from a coastal country. Try this cola, it's quite good. Also, as you can see in the photo I took from the restroom, hygienic products are offered free of charge. Very good, it's usually very crowded, the place is very small and limited, they don't let you in without a reservation, but I went alone so they were helpful. I don't know if it was peak hours, I went around 4:30 PM, you should still make a reservation.

01/09/2026: Had a delicious lunch today well done to chef so tasty and well cooked and presented. Lovely staff in bar too. Will definitely be back.

15/10/2026: it’s the loveliest cafe. the service was quick and the desserts were our favourite. the kinder and malteser cookies were the absolute best

12/10/2026: We got a table at once, in peak lunch time period. Order taken, and salad served, very quickly. Except salads, plenty of protein, all fresh.
