25/10/2024: What can I say? From the second we walked through the door we were greeted by the lovely Mae who had a little glint in her eye at the amount we ordered.. The menu was too good that we couldn't choose. Between the two of us we ordered the Scampi AndChips, the Ling AndChips and the Fish Tacos. We were pleasantly surprised to see some nice stools and a counter to eat in and even happier to see they did glasses of wine with your meal!! Honestly, from start to finish you couldn't have wished for a better meal. There were only a few chips remaining when we had finished. The quality of the fish is unparalleled, extremely fresh and flaky and cooked to perfection. The scampi was the standout to me while my partner loved the ling. Mae made us feel so at home and we had great chats with her and the chef! This is an absolute MUST if you visit Dungarvan. Don't miss it! The price point was fantastic as well. Literally could not fault it. Thank you so much Mae and the team. We will 100% be back.

06/10/2024: Absolutely delicious food! I had heard amazing things about this place and it did not disappoint. Fish was incredible, flaky and tasty. Chips were delicious. Not a massive portion but so much fish it was the perfect amount. Nicest fish and chips I ever had and will be back soon. Ps they are really friendly and helpful! Thanks for the lovely chat

18/08/2024: We stayed at the Mill Park Hotel and went for an evening meal at this restaurant. It was just great. The staff were friendly and attentive and food tasted great. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

28/10/2024: Where do I start.. first the service, we were greeted at the door and given a wait time, it’s never more than 10/15 minutes. All the staff are top notch, friendly, fast and ON THE BALL. Seriously some of the best staff in a restaurant I’ve seen in a while. The food Good quality, no frills food. It’s home style cooking at its best. Dinners that give you a nostalgic feeling of eating in the home house. It’s not fine dining by any stretch- but that’s not what you’re here for. Hearty portions of good grub. The price Seriously? Starters for €6.50 or €7 This is insane these prices like are like pre covid Coming here for 2 starters 2 mains and a few drinks is EASILY €20 cheaper than most other restaurants. Amazing value for money

28/10/2024: Lived our visit today to Carlingford Arms. A very well run establishment, welcoming and friendly staff. Good was value for money and very tasty. Bar area is very nice with Halloween theme and so many signs that has us laughing so much. Pinta if Guinness were excellent.

21/10/2024: We as family had a beautiful & very tasty dinner, we had 4 main courses & 1 dessert, 2 steak burgers, lasagne & cod and chips. The dessert was a chocolate fudge cake & vanilla ice cream. All of the food was fantastic

27/10/2024: So happy to have this close by! A much needed change to the area, the menu is refreshing - tasty and having the options for kids is great too! Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Great job to the new owners and all involved!

15/09/2024: The new owners have changed the menu significantly and IT IS AMAZING. I almost skipped this place because the photos on Google were too fancy, but all the fancy photos are from the old owners, so I'm very glad our B&B hosts told us it had changed hands this year. The new menu is basic pub-style food done incredibly well, the smash burger in particular was absolutely delicious and I wish we were in the area longer because I would love to eat here again. Everyone working here made us feel welcome, they were friendly and helpful and made sure I knew there was a good nonalcoholic cider when I said I couldn't drink, and they were right, it really was good. I really hope we can make it back here on another holiday.

10/11/2024: We had an excellent experience at The Spaniards Inn! Arriving around 5 pm, we found the place quiet, which made for a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The waitress was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of with quick and efficient service. The food was delicious, with everything served fresh and exactly as we’d hoped. Perfect spot for a peaceful early evening meal—highly recommended!

15/10/2024: Stopped by this pub for an Irish coffee and a quick bite, and I wasn’t disappointed. I tried their toastie with four kinds of cheese and onion jam—such a delicious twist of flavors. The Irish coffee was spot on too. A perfect combo for a cozy break.

05/10/2024: This is one of the best lamb shanks I have ever had, we had it last year and had to come back this year. And they did not disappoint at all. The staff was great and the atmosphere was just the right place to take that someone special.

14/11/2024: Often go to the Westward Ho, unfortunately the food was not good during this visit. Soup was not blended which did not suit some at the table,some items of the mains were over cooked some under cooked, chips tasted like they were re heated more than once. The service overall was slow but the staff were very pleasant. Disappointing visit

28/10/2024: Had lunch with a party of 6. Place was packed and since it was raining outside could not be used (welcome to Ireland). Small wait for a table but worth it. Food was very good. Waitresses very friendly. Service was great. Thank you for the delicious meal. Will definitely be stopping back.

09/10/2024: “Good things come in small packages” is true for this lively garden centre. Plants and flowers look quite healthy, not two items are the same, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Pity I didn’t see their hens, but I came across a beautiful cat, who kept a watchful eye on my dog :) I didn’t try the cafe on this occasion, but noticed that it’s popular. I will be back when I’m in the area again.

26/10/2024: Loved the food here. Everything looked amazing. I had the duck and some soup and both were quite delicious. Excellent at handling gluten free.

26/10/2024: Absolutely fantastic dining experience here. My friend Ally and I had the Lamb and it was 10/10. The owner is the chef here and he is an awesome host, the food is also next level. I highly recommend Murph’s bar. If you want the best dining experience in Cavan in beautiful surroundings this is the place to come to. Regards Alan.

19/10/2024: I went to the restaurant and the waiters were extremely nice fast sitting us down on a busy day and the food was super fast and don't get me started on the food the burgers moist and delicious fries right out of the fryer and the seafood chowder looks super fresh give these people a raise.
