01/03/2026: Worst fish and chips I've ever had. The chips were not fresh, tasted and looked as though they had been cooked the before and rewarded. The fish batter was so hard and the fish was dry. Placed a big order, travelled over 20minutes to collect order, only to be told we didn't have our complete order. Worst experience - 😞

06/01/2026: Fresh fish, cod with potatoes—which are absolutely delicious, served piping hot with salt and vinegar on the table so you can add it to your liking. The service is quick and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

03/03/2026: Food was excellent however they put us in the snug and never checked if we were ready for mains at all. When I asked they said "I was supposed to call them whenever we were ready" which I would gladly do if anyone had shown up. Overall good pints and good food.

02/03/2026: We could not have been happier with our wedding at Rathsallagh House 😊 We live in Australia and only saw the venue in person for the first time on our wedding day - but from the start, the communication was super clear and Megan was so friendly that we always felt at ease. We genuinely trusted them to make our special day perfect, and they truly did. The house itself is spectacular. Driving up the avenue, we felt incredibly lucky to be getting married there. We had 70 guests at our wedding which was in the drawing room. We loved the cosy, warm, Christmas atmosphere. What we loved most, though, was the staff. We felt so special and so well looked after all day. Tara was our wedding coordinator on the day and made sure everything ran smoothly. She was supportive, warm and professional — exactly what you hope for on your wedding day. We had the glam room that morning, which was the perfect way to start the day. The room is beautiful and the food was lovely. Our guests are still talking about the two lads behind the bar — they were fantastic all night. The day after the wedding, Nikki kindly and enthusiastically took us on a tour of the house so we could see all the rooms. Our bridal room was amazing — we loved the bath, and enjoying a nice coffee brought to our room. We honestly can’t wait to return and wish we could do it all over again.

01/03/2026: Beautiful, stunning old style country house that has 36 rooms for guests. We had a wedding there and the staff and management could not have been more lovely and helpful in making our experience there the best they possibly could. Food was the very top quality. The amount of rooms they have for different experiences from loud and busy to silent and relaxing depending on your mood is perfect. Thoroughly recommend it for a great get away from busy city life.

13/02/2026: Please, please cater for vegetarians. A cheese and onion pie or beyond veggie burger would go down a treat. You could stick in the freezer. My sister and I come regularly and both are vegetarian. I was really in a pickle last night when I couldn’t order a meat free main . Thank you!

09/03/2026: Yesterday we travelled over 1hr to eat in this place myself my husband and our 2 daughters and i must say im disappointed I got fish where it said fillet by far it was a fillet I never had fillet fish in any othe place that had so much bones in it I almost chocked at the table thank god i didnt give any to my 2 year old daughter the Tatar sauce was never given with the fish when we asked to get one i didnt eat it atal as it was tasteless and wasn't even a tatar. 2nd complain is that our child's burger was still red inside it was still raw in the middle. My Husbands steak sambo was like eating a rock. All too all the price he paid for our food is 100% not worth it as nothing was right...

02/03/2026: We had a special Birthday party at Moycarn Lodge last week Everything about this venue was perfect.The room was carefully prepared,the welcome genuine,the food flawless and the staff exuded warmth and professionalism.

17/01/2026: We travel to this restaurant several times each year and it never disappoints. This evening my companion had the black sole while I had the 12 oz waygu ribeye steak. Absolutely amazing food. Pauline and Michael in the kitchen are both excellent and imaginative chefs constantly keeping the menu interesting. Shannon, our server is always most helpful and friendly. I would advise to book in advance. Martin Maguire.

30/12/2025: On a whim, booked table for 2, for last night. Starter, duck liver pate and crusty bread, and red onion marmalade, was perfect starter. Main course, Wagu rib-eye steak , with onion, garlic potato and roast veg, the Wagu steak was divine, it was soo tender and full of flavour, complimented with the side of roast veg and garlic potato. Dessert was a beautiful home made mince pie, filo pastry base, with a frangipane topping, it was complimented with home made creme anglaise, it finished off beautifully a lovely evening of beautiful food, wonderfully prepared and presented by attentive competent waiting staff that added to this great expierence.

28/01/2026: Came here for breakfast on a Sunday. Opens at 11, and was one of the first through the door. Glad we were as it got busy very quickly. Had the breakfast bap, it was amazing. Staff helpful and friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Didn't have to wait long for breakfast. If we weren't going home we would have stayed longer. Worth a visit and will go back for sure.

03/03/2026: We have been coming here since it opened, food and service are usually great. Today we got served a raw apple tart. Said it to the manager with glasses and she didn’t apologise or seem to care at all. When mentioned she just asked ‘was everything else ok’. Very disappointing as we usually really enjoy this place and rave about it to others.

14/02/2026: Visited this morning for valentines day. We had a short wait for a table but it was well worth it. Our server Aine was very helpful and polite, the food was lovely and they were very accomodating to my dietary needs.
