13/03/2025: food was really disappointing especially for that price, save your money and go elsewhere. everything was flavourless and just over salted to cover up the fact. the staff all seemed totally depressed and the atmosphere was miserable. everyone inside felt rushed, and the wine tasted cheap for that cost too. wish i hadn’t wasted my time here

22/03/2025: I used to love going to the Fish Shop and getting their lovely fish burger (either in or for take away). We've been clients for a couple of years and always raved about Fish Shop. Recently, we have been unable to get Fish burgers for collection, in two occasions we have been told that they are not doing fish burgers for collection due to the fact that they're fully booked inside or too busy. If you are not doing the burgers, maybe don't offer it on your take away menu? Very disappointed with the service and most likely will not come back or order from there again.

17/03/2025: Got fish and chips-- Hake. This was the best fish and chips I've had since 2005. The fish was cooked perfectly and tender, the batter perfectly light and crisp from first bite to last (not stodgy at all). Staff was very friendly, and the wine topped off the experience.

22/03/2025: Came as a party of 6 got seated and waited about 10/15 minutes before anyone approached us about drinks or even ordering. Once the drinks was ordered it was another 15 min wait for 4 beers and 1 wine. Was very difficult to get someone’s attention. Food was terrible! In fact I barely touched my food. The rest of the party were also unsatisfied. Waitress didn’t check or ask if everything was alright even when clearing noticing my main was barely touched she didn’t ask. We skipped dessert as food was off putting and we wanted out asap. When paying I had mentioned the awful food and the waitress responded with “ I know I hear that a lot, I don’t like the food either “not something you should be saying to a customer. No manager or supervisor in sight.

05/03/2025: Food was fine, I'd prefer food served on a plate and not in a basket. The service very good and staff were friendly. The restaurant was very cold which made my meal not as enjoyable.

19/03/2025: Very disappointed as we caled in for lunch and was given a menu.Tables not cleared or those that were as we were at not wiped clean.One other table being used so quite inside three girls inside counter talking and one drinking a can beside the edge of counter We stayed over 10 minutes waiting to be served while trying to catch eye contact to order.More interested in talking to each other then serving customers or cleaning the tables.Went across the road to a large sports bar and the service plus the food was excellent.

16/03/2025: €17 for pint of Guinness and captain Morgan with diluted orange, this is outrageous it'll not enter this premises again never.

27/03/2025: Very cozy pub, conveniently right next to Galway train station. Fair prices, very nice bar staff, that's how it should be in the pub.

06/04/2025: We dined in. Felt that the waitresses were really racist, food took over an hour to arrive and waitresses ignored us the whole time. We were the only people of colour and the only ones being ignored and the only people whos food came an hour later when other people sat down after us and got served before us and left. Then another group of people of colour showed up, they were seated next to us and given the same treatment . But none of the 'white' or irish customers were given that treatment. better yet, they were given smiles and spoken to in a curteous manner and taken care of. Ridiculous racist staff. I bet the managers are even more racist thats why the staff are the way they are.

28/03/2025: We were there on a blustery, drizzly afternoon in want of samies and salad - Joe’s hit the mark and then some. We had the BLT with chips, the salad (with a lime chili sauce from another item on the side) and the chicken burger - everything was grand! Place had a great vibe with all the locals and surfers round. There were a few open tables when we got there and they were full up when we left. The servers were lovely!
