17/05/2026: We had an amazing experience here! We spent 3 nights at Ballymaloe and loved every minute. It is an absolutely stunning hotel in the peaceful Irish countryside. The room was clean, beautifully decorated, had heated floors and a heated towel rack, and the comfiest bed! Our room even had a small patio overlooking the gardens. Service was great as well. The morning breakfast was absolutely delicious and the afternoon tea and cake was a nice way to spend an afternoon. We had the 5 course dinner on property one night- which was also delicious. The employees are all so kind and helpful. 10/10 would recommend Ballymaloe to anyone! And would love to come back one day!

21/07/2025: Beautiful hotel! The room was comfortable and clean, the staff was welcoming and very hospitable, and the food at the on-site restaurant was great. It is a bit isolated, but if you're staying for a night or two, it's absolutely perfect. Plus, many of the rooms have a balcony - a very nice touch!

21/07/2025: Beautiful hotel. Spacious room, lovely setting. Easy check in. Friendly staff. Super clean, even the tv remote was in a plastic protector!! Used the leisure centre which was relaxing. Evening meal was gorgeous. Lovely spacious areas to sit and relax on all floors. Can not fault our stay.

31/08/2026: Phoned up last minute to ask if they were still serving food and received a strange response by a male. But we still went and were delighted with the service especially from the blonde waitress, she was very attentive and extra friendly with our little one. The food was good too!

23/07/2026: When you stand in front of the pub you think, "Oh dear, what is this?", but once inside the atmosphere is great! The staff is super friendly and the food is just super tasty! We had the chicken curry, Texas burger, and pork beef with mash. I can really recommend it; good food for a good price!

21/07/2026: Really loved the Cream and fruit cake we got here. The cake had the perfect texture and flavor; the fruit was perfectly ripe with a good crisp texture. I honestly have had few cakes that compare. Super happy we decided to get our wedding cake here. I really recommend it!

14/08/2026: I had a wonderful stay at The Boat Inn and really enjoyed my experience. The hotel was lovely, comfortable and welcoming. The room was clean, cozy and well prepared, and the self check-in process was very easy and convenient. The location was great, and everything was exactly as expected. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend The Boat Inn. I would be happy to stay here again!

12/08/2026: Located in the heart of Oughterard with every amenity nearby. The guesthouse has been tastefully renovated and refurbished. Check-in was quick and easy. The rooms are warm and inviting. A really lovely stay for a weekend, or even longer to explore the Wild Atlantic Way.

05/06/2026: A very nice little hotel. The owner is very accommodating and helpful in planning activities for the day. The ambiance is reminiscent of a manor house, complete with a fireplace and wingback chairs in the lobby. Overall, it's very lovingly furnished with great attention to detail. There's a nice pub with local live music a short walk away and a few dining options in town.

25/05/2026: Booked a Burren walking tour with Martina this May to see the wild flowers and had a fantastic weekend trip - one of the most enjoyable in many years! The hotel is immaculate and comfortable and Martina is the perfect host - genuinely friendly and everything perfectly organised. However the highlight for us has to be the food - dinner on the evening we arrived was the best we have eaten in a long time and the breakfasts keep us going all day! Martina even had a lovely packed lunch ready for us to take on our walk. Our walk was with Shane Connolly who not only has amazing depth of knowledge of everything about the Burren and it's history and nature but was also great fun along the way. Can't recommend this experience and Sheedy's as a base highly enough - genuine five stars all the way!

12/08/2026: We had dinner for 4. The food was excellent and service was very good, with the owner present and advising us on wines. Would highly recommend!

25/07/2026: Stayed at Vaughan Lodge and had breakfast here. What an impressive quality spread with generous portioned food from the menu and cold things from the buffet. There was a wide varieties of cold cuts, cheeses, spreads, cereals and nuts with 3 different types of plant milk. The note was thoughtful about minimizing food waste. Service was lovely.

22/04/2026: They have the worst live entertainment. Sunday the 12th of April was particularly abysmal. Two young girls singing that sounded like cats being tortured. If you ever run into them in the mayo area, I recommend carrying around two sharpened pencils so you could stab yourself in the ears. Pub itself was grand. Excellent service and good pints.
