04/08/2025: Food was OK, service was very poor. Slow, plates left on table and not collected, had to go to the bar to order more drinks. When asked for the bill server was really rude and dismissive.
03/08/2025: I had the Nachos for starter, which was gluttonous but delicious at the same time.
Then I had the chicken Schnitzel, the plate was burning hot which suggests that the Champ Mash was prepared in a microwave, but the food was still good and the service was attentive.

15/08/2025: Had lunch here on the terrace on a very sunny day.
They have a lunch special which is 3 dishes for ā¬30. We got his which was loaded chicken tenders, fish tacos and steak sandwich. The chicken was absolutely delicious and the other dishes were lovely also.
Had a bottle of Bulmers so can't comment on the Guinness.
Service was impeccable.
One of the best beer gardens in Ranelagh.
11/08/2025: Wonderful young staff who make you feel welcome and give you plenty of time to order but don't leave you hanging. Food is good, the service is even better.

22/08/2025: Not a great selection if you want just a coffee and snack. No scones or pastries to have with coffee, only a selection of deserts which are over pricedā¬10. First serving of coconut latte was served with gone off coconut milk, asked for another, when our bill came I really did think as a gesture of good will they wouldnāt charge for the coffee but they did and added an extra ā¬2 as we had coconut milk. Iām local to Sligo hadnāt been in to Hooked for some time and will definitely not be back as itās way over priced and the menu is really nothing to be excited about, plenty of other establishments in the town with better choice on menu and not over priced!!!
21/08/2025: Lovely afternoon buzz about the place and very pleasant staff who were attentive and polite. Unfortunately the food didnāt keep the pace. Dirty fries were very poorly cooked frozen chips with 4 small pieces of frozen goujon scattered on top and a smidgen of peanut sauce. Looked better than it tasted.

04/08/2025: Stopped in with my family, had 2 courses. Food was only ok, kids dinners came out 5 mins after the adults which is never good as they were starving. Deserts better than main courses. Asked for cranberry sauce and only came out when we were finishing the main. When settling the bill they wanted it settled in cash.

30/07/2025: I was in this place twice and it was a very enjoyable experience. Sit outside and enjoy the people watching - there's plenty to see. They serve a small carafe of red wine that is equal to about a glass and a half. Maybe that accounts for the slightly more expensive price. But best of all, the staff are very friendly - just what you'd expect from those that live in the true capital of Ireland. We didn't have the food so can't comment on that. 5* all round.
04/07/2025: Hit this place just at the right time ā²ļø as it had just opened in the afternoon and we were the second persons to go in. After doing the tour of Cork we needed somewhere to sit down have a drink šø and š» people watch for an hour. It didn't take long for the outside seating area to full up because everyone had the same idea as us. Very well staffed beautiful pub inside, plenty of history and a good selection of beers š» and wine š· š. Excellent pint of Guinness.

04/06/2025: We had little time on our first afternoon in Dublin and was staying at a hotel about a 20 minute walk from this place. Stopped in for a beer and what a beautiful bar! I think I heard the pub had been around for 200 years....
The staff was helpful and patient. We had drinks/beer and fish and chips. All of it was wonderful!

01/08/2025: we had an outstanding weekend stay over at the West Cork Hotel. It had been 10 years since our last visit and it was even more charming than before. Tremendous service, a great Irish breakfast in the morning and a wonderful location combined with an extremely attentive and responsive staff contributed to an outstanding experience! I highly recommend the West Cork Hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay while visiting one of the most enjoyable parts of Ireland.
