01/10/2025: What a wee gem! Fabulous Irish breakfast, (and the rest) with friendly staff, that you just know when you see them are going to deliver real home cooking like mother used to make. And then there is their bakery! Wow! This is worthy of travelling to. Amazing range of luxurious super sized home made treats that makes it very difficult to pick just one favourite. Definitely heading back here every year now on trips to Clare. Well done ladies fabulous to see a business that have 110% nailed what they do!

04/06/2025: I went to Oxtsil on Friday with my friend her daughter and my daughters. We had such a great night full of laughter and fantastic food. I can only say it's one of our absolute favourite restaurants to go to. The food is absolutely amazing, all seasonal. I don't know how they do it but each dish busts with flavour, they're is an explosion of flavour on each bite. I ate gambas prawns, for starter, pork belly with prawns for mains. We shared 3deserts between us, malt and Hazelnut cheesecake, salted Carmel with a homemade biscuit and a chocolate moose with brownie and honeycomb 😋😋😋😋😋 amazing! My friend and her daughter live in NY and we book oxtail evertime she comes home, that's testament in itself. Well done, keep up the good work. Can't wait to go back in July

19/10/2025: We had a group of over 30 there on Saturday night for joint birthday meals . Unreal service from start to finish . Nothing was too much bother . Food was delicious and great value . Great night had by all . Thanks to all the staff

14/10/2025: Had food tonight and it was lovely came out for my birthday because one September were playing, myself and my partner were drinking coors light had 3 pints ordered the 4th pint for us got 2 flat pints called back the bar man and asked him to replace them as they were dead seen him put a head on them so called him back again to replace them to see him do the same thing again ,so called another bar man and told him the 2 pints of coors where dead no gas in then to see him do the very same thing as his colleague before him do ,so asked him why did he put a head on a dead pint his answer was why are you getting smart with me ,I asked him to give me 2 pints of Heineken instead and all i got back was abuse ,never will i eat of drink there again bad bar staff that haven't a clue about pulling a pint so rude when confronted spoiled my night and my birthday.

06/07/2025: I had the fish & chips special, which was delicious, along with a glass of cava. The two went great together. Also tried a mango / passion fruit tart, which was amazing! The place is cozy and the service is great. Had a lovely time!

04/07/2025: I saw the summer special for fish and chips and a glass of cava for €26 and decided to try it. The service from when we got there was great. We placed our order and the food was out in under 10 minutes. 2 cods were on the plate but I’d say the star of the dish was the tartar sauce never had anything like it and the fish was super crispy. 10/10 would recommend and the cava pairing worked really well!

05/09/2025: Went here for lunch randomly on a weekday, the grounds are nice enough. Decor is very dated, menu limited. Asked what the soup of the day was and the waiter didn’t know. Asked for a glass of water and the waiter smashed it all over the floor (accidentally, not in a fit of rage 🤩). He never came back to tell me what the soup was, so I got up and left. I’ll never know what the soup of the day was……🤭. Avoid.

16/10/2025: If you need to stay somewhere for night it's a good choice, it's a quiet area, hotel is old fashioned with good food

23/08/2025: What a magnificent place to stay. The staff are always on hand to give you great advice on activities on the island and help with any questions you might have. The bar is an amazing place to eat too! Highly highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

24/09/2025: food was mid at most, linguini was incredibly bland and tasted like watered down tomato sauce. thai curry was a little better, but def not worth the value. better off buying it in the takeaway down the road. will not be back! price was €52 for a 1/5 meal.

30/09/2025: This place is a good option to stay near Galway, the room is fine, nothing special very simple and require some basic renovation, our stay was pleasant but for what we payed we probably could find something much better and closer to town. The best here is the restaurant and the staff, even if didn't have dinner due it was fully booked the night we stayed, we had breakfast there next day and it was really good. Parking is small but enough, we had to wait for a while to be able to park but is included with no extra cost which is fine.

24/08/2025: I really loved this hotel , it’s very clean, cozy, and offers excellent service. The location is fantastic, and having parking available is a huge plus if you’re traveling by car. I will definitely come back

12/07/2025: If you like your beverage and cake together you’d better tell them. We arrived and ordered coffee and cake. Codes delivered obediently and were lovely. But cake was delayed. When I asked I was told that there were two orders ahead of me and I’d have to wait. If I’d known that I wouldn’t have ordered cake. But the cake was there, and it needed the chef to take a knife and cut a slice out of it. That’s all. I offered to do it myself and suggested the waitress do it. But no, I was told the chef was very fussy (that’s fine, it means the food’s lovely) and I’d have to wait. I explained my coffee was cold and nearly gone and she said it would be along soon. All very well the chef being fussy (maybe OCD🤷🏻‍♂️) but I’m fussy too, liking my cake and hot beverage together. Not too much to ask. I’d love to do a 1-2 star review but the food is too good for that and it would be misleading.

06/10/2025: Wondergull addition to your day in Howth, wander about the harbour and you would do worse than to pick up some fish and chips here. Very light crispy batter, so popular is super fresh.
