14/01/2026: I ve been to these place a few times, the policy and staff are a bit stuck in the 80’s. If you are not Irish, there is a problem. My friends booked a table to celebrate my birthday, we were given one hour and half to celebrate, cause the table was booked for someone how was coming after us, another time, we went there for an afternoon lunch, we were aloud to stay outside , but again conditioned by time and not to make to much noise, and the other day we dropped by on the way home for some lunch, food all good, we left the money on the tray and went to the car, the student who was working came after us , informing us that we have to pay…would ve been easier if she checked. The 3rd attempt, in the ideea that I was wrong, looks like I wasn’t.

26/10/2025: It was good but some food items were left out from a plate. We did the "test menu" option and some items present in the plate for one person were not included for the other person. The devil is in the detail and it was missed. Waiting staff were gentle and kind. Appreciate it. A couple of favorites in photos.

01/03/2026: Went to this restaurant on a Sunday left waiting over an hour only to be told they couldn't find our order even though I enquired about order after 35 minutes of waiting absolutely terrible service

27/02/2026: Went for lunch with our small baby and staff member Rebecca could not have been more helpful, great service which made things so much easier for us. Food was tasty and portions were big. Great to have a vegan option. Lots of parking too.

31/01/2026: This is were all the cool kids go... of course I noticed it was the kids of the 90s. The best generation, But still cool nonetheless. A great bar with some great cool hide away tables. This allows for decent chats and socialising, not provided by Bridge St, you have to bring your own. Normally Irish bars have live bands, no shade as the kids say. But sometimes you want a bar with a great selection of drinks and to be able to speak to the people on your table. This is the place. Staff are friendly and intuitive, not leaving you thirsty. Also there is a great outdoor area which allows for eating. There is even a food truck that parks right up to the outside tables. So there isn't much of a walk for a take away pint and meal. Also if you prefer other takeaway places, they all say that you can eat their food there too. The outside place is sheltered, but I wouldn't like to test it during a downpour.

10/02/2026: The best hotel I've stayed in so far: the very central location, the cleanliness of the facilities, the lovely staff (a huge thank you especially to Johaquim, Damien, and Marquis), the incredible and very varied breakfast—in short, I recommend this hotel without hesitation! Another positive point is the services offered at reception: selling adapters for people coming from other countries, excursions in partnership with the provider Wild Rover, allowing tourists to discover the most hidden corners of Ireland.

07/02/2026: I stayed 2 nights. The location is very good and the reception staff are fantastic and the room is clean and tidy. However, I probably stayed in the worst room in the hotel where you can hear the street noise as if you were outside and as soon as they start cooking breakfast you can smell all the cooking. At least on Saturdays, 40 minutes before breakfast closes, the staff start tidying up and there is no food left, justifying that it has run out.

26/02/2026: The better option for a night in Maynooth until recently. Their new priority seems to be random removal by lads who couldn’t differentiate a person from a whisp of air (whisps of air tend to confuse them). This was written on the night of a long-term patron who has never once had a problem with the bouncer, who was given trouble for no reason other than the new bouncer’s apparent need for validation. A disappointing experience at an otherwise years-enjoyed place of fun. Be careful of the new hires - S

02/01/2026: We had a great time! Came to have dinner with two kids. Everything was so good - the vibe, the service and especially the food. The staff was easy going and welcoming, the place was busy but they were very attentive. Food came quickly and was incredible - rack of lamb, burgers and salmon. The burgers were amazing, no less, the best I've had in Ireland in the past 15 months. Great patty, well seasoned and grilled to perfection. Balanced touches of sauce, exactly in the right amount. Awesome cheese too. The salmon was also great - done to perfection, incredible mashed potatoes. Simple, elegant, so tasty! The rack of lamb isn't really my thing, but it looked great and everyone else enjoyed it - I tried the veggies that came with it, really really good. Great variety, flavorful and still with a little stiffness to sink your teeth into. Desserts were good and it was not expensive in my opinion. We parked in a free parking lot a couple of minutes walk. Will definitely recommend and will definitely come back.

03/12/2025: Lovely location and accommodating staff. Booked the suite and the whole hotel was decorated in the spirit of Christmas which was lovely. Just one minor suggestion: Consider partnering with local artists for artwork to be added to rooms and potentially it being able to be research via qr code and purchased.

02/12/2025: Room was very comfortable, the perfect size with plenty of space, but not too big. Excellent bathroom. Service at the hotel were excellent. All staff were outstanding, very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent, poached egg and avocado was delicious, eggs perfectly cooked. Having access to the swimming pool at the Great Southern was a great bonus and it is only across the road from the townhouse.

15/02/2026: Had such a gorgeous experience at 1826 from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was spot on – attentive without being over the top. The steak was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and full of flavour. Absolutely delicious. And the raspberry cheesecake… honestly to die for the perfect way to finish the meal. Can’t wait to go back! 👌✨

31/12/2025: A wonderful and special dining experience! The staff worked non-stop to ensure drinks were filled, our food was delicious, and that our stay was perfect.

15/03/2026: If you want to get at least an average night's sleep, this is definitely not a good place because you sleep right above a pub where people play until the morning.

12/01/2026: We stayed for two nights in January. It was a last minute booking, as the place we'd booked had turned out not to be suitable for a winter stay. By the time we arrived, we were soaked to the bone, as there was torrential rain. We were given a warm welcome in every way, and ushered into the bar beside the fire to warm up. We'd missed lunchtime, but had an early dinner that was superb. The service was spot on. Our room was large and cosy. We had breakfast each morning, and there was a great selection including fresh fruit and a full cooked breakfast. The owner kindly gifted us fresh apple juice made locally. We liked all the food so much, we chose to have dinner there again on the second night. Highly recommend and would be delighted to return.
