07/08/2025: My favorite pub. I've been coming here for 45 years. Very authentic, cozy atmosphere.

30/07/2025: Cozy pub with a log fire. We just had a drink and enjoyed the live performance. Good beer selection and friendly service.

18/08/2025: So sadly we were there on a Sunday and Monday, so we didn't get to have the food. But staying in the accommodations was great. Prefect location, you can easily hear music from at least 2 Pubs a night and great for people watching when the Pubs close. Wish we could have tried the food since everyone had really good things to say about it. Next time!

16/08/2025: We tried to get a reservation with no luck. We showed up early and they gave us a table for one hour. The service, food and drinks were top notch. We had appetizers to share, as we had eaten a late lunch. We shared the fried goat cheese with beet purée, blue cheese, pear and pecan salad and the seafood chowder. They gave us bread which appeared to be homemade. Goodness everything was amazing. The chowder was the best we’ve had and the goat cheese is what dreams are made of. Get a reservation and go hungry.

19/07/2025: We stayed just one night at this B&B. The room was okay. Tea and coffee with a kettle are always a plus... The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had dinner here in the evening for convenience: we ate well (smoked salmon bread and a good sirloin accompanied by potatoes and other vegetables), and the beer was excellent, but in Ireland you can usually be sure of this at a more than reasonable price. The property is located right on the main road to Kilkenny, so it's easy to find. Parking was available in front of the building, which is great when you're on a road trip like us. We were four friends (two couples). Overall, more than good. One last thing...the breakfast: okay (we had booked a room with breakfast), both continental and Irish (several options). The place is about twenty minutes from Kilkenny, so if you want and the weather permits, you can take a walk to the town center, which is very charming and inviting, with a castle and adjoining park... Both are best visited only until late afternoon.

08/06/2025: Fabulous meal. When I booked I never thought about specifying a low table for my 89 year-old dad and after some quick table rearranging, the floor manager got us properly settled. Booking lesson learned! Excellent choice for us all including a vegan and vegetarian. Observant but not intrusive wait staff and a very good non alcoholic drinks option. Fully recommend.

01/08/2025: What a wonderful experience! The pork I ordered was just perfect; the really large portion cooked just how I like it. My partner had the carrots. I tasted one (or 2 or 3) and they were delicious. A lively spot with an incredible view and friendly, obliging staff. I'll be back one day!

07/08/2025: It’s being my second time in this place. They make a beautiful sandwich. So fresh and tasty. So relaxing and staff so friendly. Someone recommended this place to me and so reasonable. I would be going there again. Fabulous spot.

04/07/2025: Fabulous, freshly prepared breakfast. Very varied menu. Tasty food. Reasonably priced. We will return! The 2 young ladies out front were just fantastic - friendly, efficient and so capable. Well done to you both.

03/06/2025: We stopped here for a late lunch on our way to Dublin. The food came very quickly and was great. Large portions at a very reasonable price. I would definitely go back!

04/09/2025: 4 of us recently dined at the Bay Tree on a Sunday evening. Immediately struck by the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff which was then following up with faultless service. Food for all of us was excellent. Standout starter dishes were the Korean Chicken and Duck Samosas. For mains, the Whole Sole on the bone and Pork Belly dishes were beautifully presented, cooked with skill and full of flavour. First time dining at The Bay Tree. Will be back

16/08/2025: We celebrated a birthday dinner with a group of 10 at 1826 Adare, and the whole experience was simply outstanding. The food was professional, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The chicken melted in the mouth, while the pork was incredibly soft and tender — every dish left us impressed. The atmosphere of the old cottage is warm and welcoming, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. A big thank you to the entire team — from the waiters to the chefs — for making the evening so special. The birthday boy is still glowing with happiness, and all of us left with smiles and full hearts. We are more than satisfied and will definitely be back. An unforgettable evening with excellent food, great service, and wonderful mood — highly recommended!

12/07/2025: Called in for food while passing through. Food and staff fantastic. Highly recommend. Special mention to the lady running the show. Unbelievably good at her job. Under major pressure on busy match day and nothing was too much trouble and everyone greeted and served with a smile. You can tell the staff enjoy working here.

11/08/2025: An absolute gem. A very welcoming down to earth place with excellent food at a reasonable price. A nice mix of locals and tourists as clientele and very welcoming and friendly staff. Had a spiced beef sandwich on Nordic sourdough bread which was excellent and a carrot cake muffin which was divine. A must visit with excellent "hipster" food but without an ounce of pretentiousness.

01/09/2025: We have been eating in Marcellos since it opened. It's such a shame to see how much this once lovely restaurant has deteriorated. The whole place looks grubby and our food last night was well below par. We were a party of 7, 2 of whom could not eat their mains. This was very obvious to the staff but not once we're we asked if our food was OK, because, quite honestly, they could clearly see that it wasn't. My brother , who barely took a few bites, even said it to the waiter and he got absolutely 0 response, my daughter's plate returned almost full as she couldn't eat hers either and again, nothing made of it at all. We didn't make a fuss as it was my mum's birthday but I am so disappointed with the whole experience. We will not be returning and as I've said, we've been loyal patrons since they 1st opened their doors. There was one waitress who was trying her best, but the remaining staff couldn't have cared less, neither could the owner/ manager. A complete let down!
