22/01/2026: I was last here in January of 1999, and from the photos, it seems like it is exactly was it was then, and countless years before. A wonderful place to have a drink or a pint.

18/01/2026: Got a pint served with a person's lipstick still on the glass. I informed the barman he just smirked at me without an apology. Would not recommend this place. 18/01/26 15:15hrs

07/11/2025: Lovely location, great menu and great service, and if you're fortunate enough to visit on a fine day, great outdoor seating as well as the year round indoor space.

06/12/2025: The food was bland, unimaginative, and tasteless. We had a starter and a main course, but after these, we decided to skip dessert. There were only one size of wine glasses available, so we had to drink the Pinot Noir from a very small white wine glass. The service was inadequate and showed little interest in us, including our criticism. We felt that the service was somewhat arrogant and snobbish. We certainly won't be returning.

24/10/2025: Nice, quite little pub. Grabbed some scampi on a Wednesday afternoon, man running the place does a good job.

14/12/2025: Went for afternoon tea, served by the lovely Rachel from Portugal, her knowledge of the Castle was superb, she showed me around some of the many function rooms, had wine by the fire in one of the many bars.. if you love oldie worldie steeped in history and a Castle that feels like your on a very old ship you'll be in the right place. Will return and try Jack Fenn bistro attached to the Castle.

27/01/2026: We recently held a corporate gathering and chose Collins Bar for lunch and from start to finish the experience was outstanding. From the initial booking with Eileen right through to the smallest details on the day, everything was organised superbly. We had just one hour for lunch and needed to get 60 people fed, which could easily have been a challenge, but for the team at Collins, it was no problem at all. Colette, Joanna and the rest of the staff were on the ball from the moment we arrived, managing everything seamlessly and ensuring that all dietary requirements were carefully catered for. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and professional, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere despite the tight schedule. The food was absolutely delicious and every single person in our group was delighted with their meal. An exceptional experience all round, fantastic organisation, wonderful staff and excellent food

15/10/2025: I am vegetarian and I am allergic to mushrooms and it was a mushroom fettucine on the menu for vegetarians so that was dissapointing for me. So i just had the soup. Everything else was lovely.

17/01/2026: Such a lovely café, but the real reason I’ll keep coming back is our waitress Aleksandra. A Ukrainian girl with the most incredible, huge, beautiful eyes — you look at them once and you’re done for. She serves quickly, smiles genuinely, and with that cute soft accent tells you about the desserts. 5/5, I’ll definitely start timing my visits to her shifts now.

29/12/2025: I've ate here twice now and both times we've had a top notch meal. 1st time we were staying at the redcastle, 2nd time we returned coming from home, an hours drive away as the meal was so good the first time. Service has also been fantastic and the atmosphere has been lovely both times. Highly recommend 👌
