06/09/2026: This is a gem of a place, just what we were after. Everything lovely, including crispy white pudding. And very reasonable. Only thing that would have been nice is one or two thai options on the breakfast menu

14/09/2026: I visit this place every few months. But my impression of it only gets worse time after time. The confectionery is tasteless and of poor quality. The tables are wiped clean with a dirty rustling rag. The smell is very bad and spoils the appetite. The only thing worth visiting this place is the beautiful view.

09/07/2026: The bars were all very busy on arrival, but i didn't have to wait long for a table. Food was very tasty. My room overlooked the River Shannon and was vey comfortable and quiet. Getting breakfast at 7:30 on a Sunday morning was a real bonus.

03/10/2026: Walked in on a Saturday around 2pm and all tables were full. Me and my husband decided to go to Lidl first to kill time before heading back. Arrived back around 230pm and we were sat fairly quickly. However, getting your orders taken is a whole different story. We were waiting for 20mins and the waitresses just kept passing us by. The table who sat after us got serviced first even. We waited a little bit more after and no one took notice of us at all! It was so bad. Its sad coz were patrons. Would never come back after this experience.

21/09/2026: We stopped to eat there by chance the first time and absolutely loved it—home-style cooking with generous portions. Now, whenever we drive by, we make sure to stop for a meal. It is always very noisy and crowded there.

01/10/2026: One star for rooms because it doesn't have any accommodation. It's not a hotel or B&B. Food used to be amazing but has slipped since around covid. Still OK but not to it's previous standards. Staff are always cheerful and friendly A truly great place for tourists to visit.

28/09/2026: Had a gorgeous meal in the dinning room, the food was fresh, wholesome and prepared beautifully, had the duck and my companion the sea bass delicious, the desserts trolley was filled with a selection of freshly homemade dessert, truly a great and welcoming dining experience
