20/10/2026: Fascinating! This was the first time in 6months living in Galway that I experienced rudeness in a restaurant/coffee place. I had a breakfast and was sitting in the upper floor. After some time the lady told me that that they would close the upper floor but I could come downstairs to continue (I ordered at 1pm and she came at 2pm). When I came downstairs all the tables were occupied. I asked where I could sit and was told ‘nowhere, because all the tables are occupied’. With my mug in the hand I stood confused in the middle of the room, then a customer came towards me and said I could have her table because she is leaving. The service lady then said that I would have to order something else if I wanted to sit at that table. I asked where I should finish my tea, sitting on the stairs? She replied I could not sit on the stairs because this would be too dangerous. At this point I was confusion and confusion was me. I asked if I could just finish my tea on the upper floor where I had my breakfast and she said no, I would be there for too long and have to order something else. Well, I left at that point. It is kind of funny but also unnecessarily rude to speak to the consumer in that way (and also her tone was quite condescending) and I actually had a proper meal in this place I wasnt able to finish and wasn’t just squatting for hours. So I would definitely not recommend. Also, quite high prices for quite low quality food (and a piece of plastic in my beans).

26/10/2026: I was in the Huntsman a few times for food and it's a lovely place to get food in and it would be great if the pub got the pool tables back as I used to enjoy playing pool in the Huntsman when the Bar had pool tables in it and since covid-19 the pub has changed also as the bar and lounge doors on the road side haven't being opened since the restrictions ended as those doors used to be always open when the pub was trading business prior to the pandemic

14/09/2026: My first time here. We meet as it was our mother's anniversary. Food was poor. I'd do better myself. Lasagne my aunt had was rubber like it was reheated and burnt. My veggie option was tasteless. Only thing I ate was sweet potato fries. I wanted turkey dinner without ham. Can't eat ham as I have cancer. Was told no they came ready made with ham. Im afraid I wouldn't recommend it.

03/10/2026: The food was generally good. There was a long wait to order. Drinks also took a very long time to arrive.

02/10/2026: Sign said "wait to be seated" so we waited for 5 minutes while serves kept walking past, no one asked if we needed to be seated or assisted us. We helped ourselves to a seat and the same people who seen us standing waiting, walked past us multiple times. Was a young girl with blonde hair in a bun. She cleaned the table beside us and ignored ours which was covered in food, salt and water and never bothered to ask if we wanted menus or drinks. Don't think we should have to ask for these in a restaurant. Terrible service on their behalf. Can't rate the food as I didn't get any.... wasn't even busy

02/06/2026: We had a truly lovely stay! Everything was impeccable, from the warm welcome at reception to the delicious breakfast each morning. It is difficult to highlight just one aspect when everything was outstanding, but Emerson, Giuliana, and the entire staff deserve special recognition. They were always kind, attentive, efficient, and eager to help, making our experience even more memorable. We will definitely be back and will gladly recommend this hotel to family and friends. Thank you for such wonderful hospitality!

18/03/2026: Nice room and very friendly staff.

30/09/2026: Really rude woman manager/staff. Told us not to eat at the outside tables. Treated us like we were homeless dirt when we had bought their overpriced meals there two days in a row the previous days. The calamari tasted like it was a frozen grocery store bought item, not fresh at all. The people serving the meals were nice though. Shame, also why is it called a community center if it’s a private business? Strange.

14/09/2026: Quiet in the off-season, and check the opening hours in advance, but very tasty food. Delicious soup and a meaty hake.

03/09/2025: Nice place to have different types of food. We had chicken wings as starter that were marinated with hoisin sauce (Asian style) and we had the mussels in Asian style - also really delicious!

30/09/2026: Great food and the course was good only draw back was they had hollow tained and sanded the greens that week

13/10/2026: Have been here at the afternoon hours and got somewhat lucky with our table as the place was already quite packed. The food was delicious. Servicing was a bit slow but understandably as lots of guests had to be served. The live music was very great.

10/10/2026: Food was pretty okay. The seafood chowder was really good, but the fries were a bit off.

17/08/2026: We visited around 1 PM and really enjoyed the atmosphere and overall vibe of the pub. Unfortunately, we were made to feel very uncomfortable by a male local at the bar who kept monitoring us, questioning what we were doing, and following us outside when we went out. It felt subtly targeted.
